The whole reason for the water park is to drive hotel sales in the summer and make it feasible. It's a cyclical relationship. I'm sure the hotel will also do pretty well with weddings as well.

And if you ever go back to mod preview, your observations on those mountains can stay where they belong, to yourself...

I think they announced them yesterday. I'll have another discount card for early season/Pico riding, but if I have a friends come up that wants to save some dough, I'll grab a couple. Used 3 last year. Scan the barcode right off your phone.

I thoroughly enjoy Nightmare, Dream Weaver, Challenge, and Razor's. There isn't much with that pitch anywhere else in PA with that kind of vertical.

The Greek Peak water park and lodge was actually built before Jay. I think it opened in 2009. It's also about 20k feet smaller. As to the increase in crowds, I think it will increase them, but I don't know to what extent. 453 rooms averaging 3 people a night on weekends is roughly 1,350 people. That doesn't seem like many, but the lift lines are already long there. An extra 1,000 would really add more stress to the infrastructure. Also, with more people staying at the mountain, the usually slow AM may be a little busier.

I think 2 days tops is about right. I love the place, but two five hour days back to back is plenty.

We need more information than that. Where do you live. How long? Do you need children's programs? When are you planning to go?

Summer never really arrived. It's usually standard for us to have upper 80s or 90s with a handful of 100s from July 15th through early September. Before I left for the LT on July 9 we had 2-3 90 degree days and a couple mid 80s. I was told that it never went above 85 when I was gone, and it looks like the next 10 days are mostly upper 70s.

I went to Jay Peak's at the end of the hike. It's about half the size of this one. Kinda fun for a couple hours. And it was busy.

There's already a Great Wolf Lodge plus another one in the development/construction phase. I think this will be the third one?
