Haven't been to GP in years, but I've always liked Bell, even if it is disjointed and flat ish. Have fun wherever it may be. Amazing that we still have so many weekday options. At least not too far north.

Seriously, WTF is with this Weather?

Looking like Smuggs tomorrow or Tuesday, or both... I also have a ticket to Jay that I may use as well. -

It's mostly ice here. Not too much rain, but an inch of snow with lots of ice. Most everything at North is down with icing. -

Precip just started here and is currently a legit wintry mix with snow, sleet, and some rain in there as well. There's an inversion currently, but temps should flip as the front comes through. Depending on the site it looks elevation based with anywhere from 1-6 inches with rain or all snow. Same for the NEK. -

It's floating all over the place. I think the absolute all rain line is somewhere around Killington. Sugarbush is going to be all elevation. Up high a foot plus, down low, who knows. It's gone back and forth just within the last couple hours. -
I don't see that happening. He's still at the top of his game. It's definitely not a monetary issue, but I guess you never know.

I'll send you a PM Monday to see if you'll be around. -

I'm going to hit Smuggs on Tuesday if your interested. Looks like they have the Bush in the 10-14" range. It's going to be elevation based and wet, but snow is snow. -
They never do. They close Saturday and hold their passholder/employee party on Sunday. I believe they run lifts for them as well.

Continuing disappointment lol

Elk... Reconsidering next years fanboy subscription...

The River got a foot of manky base building snow yesterday while the northern greens got about a foot of upslope which is usually significantly dryer. That being said, looks like warmer temps (upper 30s) don't arrive for another week up there. Should be riding well into April right now.
-
The upslope machine cranking? Storm on Sunday? Things are getting real good up there.
-
I've skied Camelback on April 6th on a warmer spring than this one, and I didn't see any rocks and got no base damage. I'd rather have lift service with a couple obstacles than be done riding in my state.

Who knows, I'm still trying to find the fucking bridge...

We were talking about PA seasons, not CB seasons.
-
I'm fairly certain the November 9 opening year at BB has this one beat by a week...
-
I think CB was open until the 11th or 12th 4 or so years ago as well, but nobody opened in November that year, so this is definitely one of the longest PA seasons in awhile.
-
They typically keep it open until the same day when the season is shorter and they won't make it that late. It's a combination of drainage and the beginner hill melting out. It's a wide open plateau that doesn't keep snow well. They won't keep them both open and operating as islands. Why not get one more PA day in? Or are you bringing back the mid April Stowe skifari?
-
Just saw on CB's website that their close date has been set for the 13th. The Value Pass no longer has any restrictions as well. I would assume that they will have both the Stevenson and Sullivan until the 6th and then shut down the Stevenson and leave the core 8 open for skiing and riding until the 13th. The drainage at the bottom of the Stevenson is terrible, so even when the coverage is still 100%, you have to wade through knee deep water to get on the lift.

The day of the storm was the gem. Low winds and free refills all day. Day after was super windy. Mt. Ellen and Heaven's Gate never opened. North Lynx was only upper mountain lift to open first thing. Castlerock opened at 11 and was immediately met with 35-40 minute lines. Today Mt. Ellen got mugged by freshie hunters, but it was super wind blown and scoured.
-
I'll be posting a report for yesterday and maybe one for today later tonight. Winds holds are the name of the game currently.

You were framed!!!

Please listen? I don't want to hear anymore complaints about mod preview...

Glad to hear you got after it. Thanks for taking the time to write the report.
