  1. I stayed in Warrensburg when I went up 7 years ago, and stayed in a ghetto 60s style motel where I was sure I would be axe murdered. TV remote didn't work and the buttons on the TV were broken out so OutCold and I had to use a screwdriver to put it in the TV to adjust volume and channels. OutCold almost got arrested while talking on the phone and the gas stations cut off the gas outside at 9. Ghetto for sure.
  2. Also, I can find no info online that the lift wasn't brand new when bought and installed...
  3. The only natural snow trail at Elk is Lehigh. Elk doesn't have the capacity that other resorts do, but they do blow plenty of snow and usually have a great base. Even when I have gone the last weekend in March they usually have a pretty deep base. I've never had to worry about it being "thin". If it's thin there, it's thin pretty much everywhere.
  4. What's the general cost of the install? Even if the lift is discounted, that shit can't be cheap...
  5. I laughed lol There would be more TR's if it would actually snow.
  6. Pretty damn good. Speechless. It was only in jest. I'm glad I'm not your red headed stepchild lol I haven't watched any snowboard movies and I'm trying to hire extras for some action pics. I'll step my game up.
  7. My buddy saw this and got one. Do you have to pay the road toll for Split Rock to get to BB? I told him that was nuts, but he seems to think that's the case...
  8. Back on a slightly related ski topic, looks like some developer has struck a deal with Windham for some slope side lodging off the new beginner trails. New York ski village?
  9. What kind of sex are you having?
  10. And you couldn't control yourself could you?
  11. Awesome. Glad to hear you could get out and go bell to bell. I drove up to Sugarbush today and was amazed at how warm it was when I went by K-Mart. 47 at base of Pico, Killington, and Sugarbush. I figured you were getting some pretty sweet spring conditions. Definitely an inversion. It was 40 in the valley between K-Mart and the Bush. Didn't see any snow on the ground until I got to the Rt. 4/Rt. 100 intersection. Amazing how much snow they have lost since I was here 3 weeks ago. Thank the good lord for snowmaking.
  12. There is some real gnarly washouts on 100 N as well. For awhile there were some wrecked houses on the side of the road, but they finally cleared those up this past fall. Irene really trashed the place.
  13. Whitehall/Fort Ann is 149. I will be driving that and up 100 come Monday AM. I'll let you know how the section is from K-Mart to the Bush.
  14. Living with multiple women...
  15. I wonder if they are making any progress on getting the liquor license back. I was told that it was one of the main priorities.
  16. Well, if the house sits on the ground without a crawl space, then it could be good or bad news. It could mean the lines are frozen underground, which is really unlikely, or is means that the line is frozen on the outside of the house it comes up on the outside of the wall, which gives you a spot to pinpoint. As for electric with ski resorts, that really sucks, but it makes sense. The only states I know that don't have to deal with it are the resorts in Maine where they are allowed to buy in bulk. Contract says that they own it regardless of need. If they want it back, they have to buy it back at the going rate. Sunday River used to buy significantly more than it used so it could sell it back and make a profit.
  17. That will change once the hotel is built. They won't want to sell week long ski and stay packages and have to refund. Saw it all the time at SR. Day resorts like Wildcat and Abram would close, but all the resorts would stay open.
  18. It just seemed like you were blowing hot air out of your ass, so I thought I would give you some actual shit to throw. Believe me when I say that I wish I could ride MRG just like anyone else. But I'm a realist and I realize that no matter how much I bitch and moan about social inequality etc etc, it's not going to change anything, especially when they have something that works for them, the people that put the money into the mountain to save it. I have the right to run my business however I wish, and so do they. When and if they change, I will welcome the chance to go with open arms. That's two paragraphs with a trailing standalone sentence. Well written JL. Her name was Betsy Pratt. Time and circumstance can change anything.
  19. To the best of my knowledge, MRG and SB have reciprocal passes for employees, and you can get an add on for MRG on a college or "for 20's" pass, but because of logistics and mountain infrastructure, full reciprocity doesn't exist and likely never will. MRG couldn't handle the crowds SB would bring. Look at their parking lot, it can barely hold a hundred cars. And while SB has snowmaking on nearly 70% of their terrain, the system isn't necessarily all that powerful. While SR can blow on 15 trails at once, SB maxes at 3-4 depending on size of trail. They just can't cover that 70% half as quickly.
  20. Really Steeze? Ample snowmaking? Maybe adequate. Sugarbush is rumored to have a 4,000 gpm system at LP and a 2,000 gpm system at ME. They are not connected. They also have a strict snowmaking budget and no block electric. If anything, it helps to open, but it is no behemoth, and during a freeze thaw, they really struggle to recover. They can resurface one to two trails at a time max. The one thing people consistently complain about there, is snowmaking. Personally, I know it's limitations, so it doesn't bother me, but try finding another SB regular who is willing to vouch for it as ample. Additionally, if things pan out the way they did last year during the freeze thaw, Win will graciously allow MRG pass holders access to the lifts at ME. He's a pretty standup guy in my book. A real asset to the valley.
  21. Scamelback strikes again. I bet they close the hotel without notice one day when it finally opens.
  22. Apparently it's really cold? Even schools in Delaware are being closed. It's a crock of shit. Everybody thinks they are a badass until it's cold. Try telling a Vermonter, even the kids, that they should have off school for cold weather. I bet their stares burn the clothes off your pathetic weak willed ass.
