  1. 60 and raining here in the 302. Looks like rain everywhere on the EC right now. Looks like moderating temps and limited moisture after this. I'm ready for the next snowstorm.
  2. I always forget about the Yale lot. I always cruise by it, but it never dawns on me to park there when I can get a sweet spot at Ramshead...
  3. I was late to the party and have only been here for 5.5 years, but it's been fun. I'm still hoping to make it to PA this year to meet up with you guys and have some parking lot tinnies.
  4. Johnny Law left out Sugarbush. What am missing? Did I choose the only buzzkill in Central VT?
  5. Brutal cold up in Maine as well. Highs not expected to reach above 0 in most areas the next 2 days.
  6. There's actually some pretty fun but tighter trees off Powerline. If you hit them, then cross over the trail and cut back into the right, you can pop out right by the NRT lift line. Some really good ones off Snowdon as well. Some of my older trip reports have better descriptions and some pics.
  7. I'm not the one who was worried about being the youngest, and I don't think I'm your type either lol
  8. IIRC, Skye and Skyeship overlap the Bear lifts terrain offerings. They have extended the park upward, so to get all of it you have to either take Skyeship or Syke Peak. The Bear Mountain lift really only services a very small portion of the terrain park now. That being said, Skye and Skyeship Stage II are pretty busy lifts. It's going to be tough to lap on Sunday. Also, GSS has a very close minded aspect on mountains, so his comment doesn't surprise me at all. Pico has some excellent terrain offerings and some really good off map stuff and will be a quarter as crowded. If you want to maximize runs on day 1, that's the place to go. It has 2k vert and is serviced by two high speed lifts. I know your into parks, but Mon/Tues are the day for parks. Lifts will be ski on, there will be less park rats crowding features, and you'll be able to put a t2b run together without much interruption. If you have to have the big parks all 3 days, then go for it. Skiing/Riding is all about what makes you happy, which is really why I don't listen to any of the shit GSS spews out about every mountain outside his beloved Blue, Stowe, JH. Furthermore, Pico is only 10 minutes down the road and is covered by a Killington ticket. If you really want park all 3 days, then I would go Pico from opening to lunch on Sunday, then head over and park at Bear after lunch. Crowds will really empty out then so you can hit the park, and you've logged some good runs before that.
  9. Your still a creeper or so...
  10. Nvm, saw that your going Sunday-Tuesday. If the natural has been decent, and your looking for good cruisers with some hidden tree lines, I would check out Pico on Sunday. There will be less lines and less traffic. Then you can hit Killington Mon/Tus to hit the park. You'll be able to lap it with way fewer lift lines and assholes.
  11. I wasn't sure I was going to head back to VT the 6th, but with some heavy wet snow tonight to add to the locked up base in the woods, and the potential for a big storm this week, I may be back up the 6th to get my training finished and get in some free riding. Id love to get to some new areas. I've got a ticket to Titus, Smuggs, and Owl's Head, so maybe I'll give something new a shot.
  12. Only rode the parks a little as parks aren't my thing. The rail setup seems decent, the jumps seem decent, but the flow is pretty terrible as of years past, which tends to kill a run when there is only one feature you want to hit per line. Lots of "wasted" runs. It looks like your going midweek, so you won't have Pico, but some really good tree lines off of Killington Peak and Snowdon. Look for the off map stuff. Really good "hidden" entrances off turns. Very limited traffic when I was there two years ago. Enjoy VT. Nothing but love for it.
  13. It would be nice if some snow followed with these cold temps, but right now it looks to be dry during the 10 day.
  14. I think it is valid. CB is pretty stingy with their $, and I remember it being valid there after 4, even on holiday weeks, and I believe the wording was exactly the same as well.
  15. That's awesome guitar!!! Thanks for taking the time to write the report and share. Pics next year!!!
  16. Things have been good up in the MRV. Cold as shit with great snowmaking weather with bands of snow showers dropping 8-10" over the past 5 days. Looks like another 2-4" over the next 24 hours with 4-8" from the storm on Saturday. Shit is getting real good real quick.
  17. Most resorts consider optimal snowmaking temps to be in the mid teens. When it gets lower than that it puts a lot of stress on the system (frozen pipes, lines, guns, and blowouts). Regardless, they will make snow no matter what this time of the season.
  18. If you are looking for a cheaper less crowded weekend option, I heard great things about Alpine Mountain. I know they have had mountain issues in years past, and the comments I heard were before that time, but I think it may be worth a shot.
  19. Awesome update. Glad to hear that things are looking up for them. I hope the customers and revenue follow.
  20. Look me up again if you come up. My schedule is much more flexible now that I'm volunteering.
