  1. Foliage report from the MRV: Past peak, most leaves off trees...
  2. I would be one of those folks, but I'm on my way home right now, so that wouldn't happen. Regardless, it's getting close. Next week or so looking good for night time snowmaking at elevation.
  3. Looks like mid 30s as a high for the base of Killington midweek. I would be surprised if they aren't open Saturday. Decent temps at night so they may be able to expand slowly but surely.
  4. Snowshoe...
  5. Isn't it in partial retirement because of the house in VT?
  6. Lots of people complaining because of a special assessment on the road for the paving (I'm sure your bro in law got one), but it needed to be done and is so much nicer... Haters gonna hate!!!
  7. Nah mean?
  8. It's obviously none of my business as to your financial situation, but where does all your money go? You seem to always work and never have money. Are you hitting the Sands again?
  9. From there it's probably equidistant from Sunday River. Depending on the window, SR may get t2b first like last year. Killington has the temps and elevation, but they tend to blast the north ridge area in case of unfavorable weather, whereas SR only has 2 trails off their midstation lift and had to go t2b faster in order to expand. Killington also stays open during the week once they open (conditions permitting of course), while SR will often be just weekends until mid November. Complete tossup, but it's nice to have options.
  10. I doubt this counts/helps, but they repaved Village Road at LP and the access road at Mt. Ellen. Huge improvement.
  11. See man, I knew you were in on it!!!
  12. I'm hoping you kept a pair of boots to go early season, but then again, Killington is a hike from where you are...
  13. When you heading up next? I'm hoping to get back up here the first/second week of November for some turns at K.
  14. Used ski boots go for that much? Damn lol
  15. I hadn't seen anything indicating a snowstorm, but it looks like temps take a turn for the best starting next Wednesday. Huge stoke!!!
  16. The one year they opened super early on Nov. 9, all they had was Freedom, and they had to use the cold temps to keep resurfacing it. It wasn't until the day before Thanksgiving that they got a couple more trails open. They do have a helluva system for that small a mountain.
  17. When I was there, I was still relatively fresh, and I had no problem with any of the terrain. It's pretty mellow and is only 900' tall. I think it's a combination of amenities and decent natural that make it relevant. Others on here know the terrain better than I.
  18. Does it have a solid condo base, or is the hotel basically it? I can't remember. IIRC, the hotel dragged them pretty far into debt, but they seemed to be making the payments. Unfortunately, the bank was a victim of the loan crises and they couldn't find a new loan when the bank called it. I believe the new owners got it for a small fraction of what it was worth. They should be able to make a good run at it.
  19. No lol. Just a lighthearted joke. No sarcasm intended, no seriousness. I know your not being paid lol
  20. I didn't say that it's guaranteed, but as Johnny Law will confirm, a pattern change is different then specific temps. Pattern changes are gradual and can be predicted fairly well using models. We won't be able to tell how cold or how long, but there is a pattern change that will bring cold air.
  21. The new owners got the place for a steal, so I know they are trying really hard to shape it up. That's great PR. Haven't been there in 12 years and I know it has changed a lot.
  22. Days 8-10 on the 10 day are looking really promising to get things started. Still pretty far out, but the pattern is starting to change, so consistent cold temperatures will be coming more regularly now. High five for stoke. Pass it on!!!
  23. Saw in several news sites that Camelback has started the hotel/waterpark and they expect it to open by next Christmas... Likely won't lead to any eastern expansion, but it would be nice since that direction has their best terrain...
  24. You getting a commission for this PR?
  25. Awesome pics, thanks man. I'm surprised they were running both doubles for lift rides. Was it busy? Foliage almost past prime?
