  1. That's good to hear... Probably going up to the MRV in two weeks, and the leaves and colors should be really popping at that time... Still two weeks at that point from peak foliage, but still should have good color... I'm getting stoked... First frost probably isn't that far away in the north country...
  2. And I'm proud to say, it is finally September 1!!!
  3. Always happy to see someone fulfill a dream... Don't forget your roots... You'll always be able to ride/ski on ice :-)
  4. Looks like there are finally some reports trickling in on other message boards that are pointing to confirmed sightings of leaves changing in some areas of ME and NoVT... Won't be long now...
  5. So far so good... We are now past the one year anniversary of Irene!!! Lets hope nothing crazy develops in the next month or two and that all the resorts are able to open as planned... Weather permitting of course...
  6. I agree... I hate raking your leaves...
  7. Is this another one of those auto fill-ins, or is he actually silly enough to keep writing this in multiple posts?
  8. I think that is more of a lack of water and wind... I don't think it's the seasonal fall of leaves... But I could be wrong...
  9. I checked some of the other NE message boards and was surprised to see that nobody has reported any leaf changing farther north. It has usually started by this time of the season... The temperatures have been following the annual averages, so hopefully at this rate we are in for a good start... Peak foliage in just over a month...
  10. Sweet Stoke!!!
  11. I've got a pretty good pro deal on them... I'm looking at the R9s atm...
  12. That's decently early for out there... Have they been stepping up their snowmaking?
  13. I decided to put this off until a little later this year, but as we quickly approach labor day, I figured I would finally get things started. I decided I would like something a little more fun and flexible on the mountain, and after trying out a friend's older model, I decided to pull the trigger and snagged a 2011/2012 K2 Fastplant off eBay brand new for about 50% off. I also snagged a SmartWool Lightweight Base Layer. I am still looking at bindings, but I am considering something quick and different like a pair of Flows. I'll decide on that a little bit later. Lets hear what you've got...
  14. I've got last years TRS brand new... Got it late last year... I am pretty excited to try it out myself... I have heard that the magna traction works well if it is sharp, but if it isn't sharp, it's grippy even when your not on the edge... It's also a pain to sharpen since you can't put it through a machine.. Regardless, I'm excited... I've heard the base holds up really well to a beating too...
  15. Looks like its time for me to make this years gear thread...
  16. No real morning dew here yet... Not a heavy one at least... Last night was the coldest night in months, and I think it tapped out at 65 lol
  17. Either way, it's a good deal without it when you compare it to Stowe's season pass... If they already have a deal for college passes, you would think they could tweak it and add it for normal passes as well...
  18. I remember seeing a string of years where Camelback had a dusting on their Camel during Halloween... But consistently, I can see T-Day... Thats a little different than a foot in the A... The Pokes have a micro climate similar to Blue Mountain...
  19. I was in the valley for that, and it was a ton of fun, but other than that, I haven't been following the weather in the pokes for too long, only about 10 years. I know that it is fairly normal to get a dusting to an inch or two around Halloween, but I can't imagine a 12" like that happens often, or ever... Right?
  20. Damn, a Bolton Valley and Smuggs pass? They both average around 300". Good deal... I dont see it on their site though... Not questioning the buy, just wondering where you saw it... I could see myself getting another pass away from the Bush to switch it up...
  21. So your closer to Smuggs than Stowe? It's probably way cheaper too... And they only average 30" less a year... We are still aiming for a place at the Bush sometime in the near future...
  22. You spending alot of time up there already? That must have felt great...
  23. The summer season is definitely starting to cool down. It's only estimated to be a high of 75 today here at the beach, and last night was the first night in the 60s in like 6 weeks. Although temps are supposed to go back to their seasonal averages, so like the lower 80s this week, it's nice to be rid of the 90 degree days...
  24. And what are the chances instructors don't get rehired?
  25. At least the snowmaking ponds will be full... As long as the jet drops like it is supposed to, we should be fine... Went too far north last year :-(
