What's a "hella pussy"?

I had seen some places that included NY in the mid A because some parts are so far south... I would also think MD and WV would be included in there too...
-
Do they have a map on there that defines the Mid-A? I've always been curious...
-
Actually, I doubt you will...

Awesome buy, house looks awesome from the outside!!! Still waiting to get a place in the MRV, but it will happen in good time... Have we seen the end of the Moe-tel?

If your guys all chip in 5 posts a day, I'm sure you can get him going downward...

Anyway to call the Sheriff and ask if the sale is still on? Is it policy to string along potential buyers and then say no sale? I don't understand why that's the case, but that's possible I guess? All things considered, $6.5 million + is a huge chunk of change if numbers can be believed... Even if they were able to find refinancing, I'm sure that the interest rate was fairly steep due to their past credit history (if this can be believed)... Unless they were able to post a significant cash infusion towards the principal, I fear this issue will continue into the future, even though it has been "resolved" many times over the past couple years... The big plus side here is that unlike in years past, there haven't been payroll or utility issues that affected day to day operations... They have also done some decent improvements, albeit many of those could have been done low cost with their own equipment... I for one will wait until the date of the Sheriff sale until I pass judgment... I have a dream that one day this will not be the first thing we talk about each season when referring to Sno...

Just remember, if they put in a skatepark, and charge admission, then that will also be part of the amusement tax... That's doesn't really solve the problem... However, if they give a free lift ticket to someone staying at the hotel, and pay a higher room rate, then maybe that could avoid it?

If KC speaks the truth, it won't go up for sale at the Sheriff's sale... At the end of the day, KC is a loyal sno employee, and he supports them, and for that I give him mad props... He also speaks the truth in that they have gotten some key work done despite getting lambasted about having no money... However, and I don't mean this as an absolute negative, but it doesn't sound like the finance issues have been resolved since these issues keep popping up... It sounds more like they keep getting band aided... I really do hope they get "resolved" on a long term basis, just so we don't have to keep hearing about it year after year, especially if they aren't really a problem...

UH OH, Doug being dumb again...

I completely agree... Lots of towns have a gross receipts tax of 3-5% of revenue, but to tax a ski area, whose margins are already notoriously low or negative, especially at 10%, is absolutely nuts... I'm sure the Creek is making plenty of money, but they clearly haven't done their research, just decided to tap a resource they thought would really pay off... It will be a shame if this has long term circumstances... Hopefully for the workers sake, BC doesn't play the "I can't afford the tax" card and threaten to shut the place down... Even though we know that scenario is unlikely...

I didn't know that either, and I drive through VT a fair amount... But now that I'm thinking about it, I don't recall seeing any... -

I was there in 09 during a massive dump, but it was heavy wet cement and was coming down so fast that it would accumulate on your goggles and reduce visibility... It was also super slow and sticky... Took forever for just one run... But I could see the potential... -

I am playing in a corn hole tournament this weekend... It will not be at Bear Creek, I will not be playing with Doug, and I will not be sharing a room with him and his 7 closest friends... Even without those three things, I still think it can be fun... -
Anybody ride or ski with a mouthguard? Ive been thinking about it for awhile... Although I fall rarely, when i usually fall, I wipeout pretty epicly and somehow bite down on my tongue... I know it sounds ridiculous, and thats probably why i don't have one yet, and probably won't get one, but I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone uses one...

Im stuck in between... I don't need to go to a mountain with soul all the time... I quite enjoy larger sold out mountains, I just seem to get tired of the terrain quicker and my trips back to them are less frequent... However, I am basing that off of typical east coast conditions... I obviously would take multiple powder days at Killington over groomers at Magic... I would ideally like to go to a place with plenty of powder and a little bit of "soul"... That's possible to do at a larger mountain, Sugarbush being the perfect example... Lincoln Peak has a more commercial vibe while Mt. Ellen has more old school narrow and windy trails and is a little less manicured, but they still have high speed lifts to the top... I'm never going to pass up a big mountain, but I like something a little more mellow and easy going where nobody gives a fuck sometimes... As for the thread jack, it's June, I wouldn't worry about it too much... I'll talk about anything ski related... -

It's just a laid back atmosphere that is more about skiing than it is making massive amounts of money... It's a combination of attitude, terrain, and not being sold out... A place where you leave and you feel like it was more than just a day at the mountain... It's a proverbial "it" You can't explain what "it" is, but you know when you've found it... -

I'm a huge fan of going to mountains with "soul," and I know from experience that Magic has it... Although Magic is epic on a powder day, I think that using the partnership funds towards snowmaking will make the mountain much more competitive in times when there is very little powder like this past year... That being said, Burke and Saddleback also seem to have "soul" and are more in the snowbelt... I would take a powder day at either but haven't been to either... I tried to go on our big powder day last season on March 1, but they shut the lifts down for good at 9 Am and closed the mountain... Got back to SR by 11 and still had an awesome day, but couldnt notch SB off the lift... If its possible, I hope to take them both off the list this season...
