  1. What's up everyone! Well I got a chance to start my season. After a couple weeks of being open i figured it was time for me to get the board out of the bag and shred. I cant remember what day it was (they're blurring together), but it was snowing which made for some great slashing. Marjie's was primed, as were Nile and park. The terrain park crew has been killin' it with their set ups this year. The mountain has slowly been getting more and more traffic as we head into the week. You may think its all marketing and PR fluff, but the conditions in my opinion have been getting better. The crew has been leaving more trails un-groomed and conditions with more snow. Today Upper Cleo, Sphinx and Rocket were all left un-groomed after being hit up with snowmaking the night before. Rhodo is looking good too. The guys built a 20', 30' and 40' jumps in our rhythm line. I know that you know that we are going to be busy this weekend, but don't let that deter you from coming up for a day. Like any resort there are always the secrets and specific times to avoid crowds. You all know the scoop as well as i do. Make sure you come skiing, and visit loved ones this holiday season! Much love, and well wishing's from Camelback. Ross
  2. Sorry for the absentee status. We have been super busy up here getting the mountain ready for days like this. The conditions today are amazing. Loose packed powder on top is choice for those morning Marjies and Rocket sessions. The snowmaking crew decided that after the rain they would just recondition the whole mountain. So, thats what they did. The snow guns are still roaring as we continue to make snow on the rest of the mountain. As always the terrain park crew is setting up new features almost daily. Feature count in the park right now is 15. Been going for walks in the base area to see if I can spy some of you PASR's, but nothing yet. We are looking to have 6 lifts and 26 trails open tomorrow so stop on by. See everyone on the snow. Oh and its Friday! Enjoy the weekend! Ross
  3. Not sure as of yet dime. I will know more tomorrow after i meet with BT in the morning. I know the guys have been hammering the east side and would like to have 50% of the mtn open ASAP. If its not this weekend then next weekend for sure. Ill keep you guys posted as usual.
  4. It was only a matter of time.... Yes I am.
  5. One of the best parts of the day is getting to go out and take the daily pictures. It my excuse to go outside and see what everyone is up to. Today Terry Reiner, one of our snowmakers who has literally been here for twice as long as I have been alive, let me ride along with him on his snow making rounds. The Nile Mile has piles of snow so high that they were eclipsing the Stevenson lift. Check out the pictures below. Other than the epic snowmaking that we had last night, the conditions are awesome. Snow is again a nice soft packed powder. Marjies and Rocket are awesome once again for making so amazing turns. The parks continues to get shaped and fine tuned by our crew. I would post some pictures of that, but I have not been down there yet . On the bright side..... IT'S FRIDAY!!!! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend. Stop up and see us, dont forget to say "hi" if you see me in the base area. Enjoy the weekend everyone!!! Pictures of snowmaking -Ross
  6. Whats going on PASR's? If you're stuck somewhere behind a desk, please don't read any further. What a beautiful day! Last night we got a nice little dusting which only added to the amazing conditions of today. The snow is pack powder in most spots, and a little layer of powder in others. Makes for some nice slashing if you ask me. Marjies and Rocket are killer! The boys in the Terrain Park have been shaping away at all the features to keep them nice and fresh. This is what winter is all about. We will have even more trails and lifts running this weekend. Ill make sure to post the trail count for this weekend as soon as I know. Hope everyone gets a chance to come and sample the snow. Enjoy the rest of the week everyone. Pictures from this AM -Ross
  7. Hard work pays off; truer sentiments have never been spoken. And this year at Camelback Mountain Resort, we witnessed it first-hand. "I've been making snow and working on this mountain over 40 years, and with all of our new equipment, I have never seen so much snow made in such a short period of time", said Terry Reiner, 43 year Camelback employee and snowmaking supervisor. 16. Just the tubing hill for this weekend. We want to keep hammering the mountain with snow. That way we can open with some great trails. We wanted to give you guys a chance to sleep in. Just kidding! We want to take advantage of the best snowmaking temps. If we opened up earlier we might lose some prime times for making the best snow we can. Hope that explains a little bit.
