after seeing root's awesome watchung adventures i figured i'd post a few of my own. if you have any interest in this type of ski and thinking about getting a setup, do it! it's mtb on skis! first one is jacobsburg late december <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210482792163180929888.0004ee106569dbd42d44a&msa=0&ie=UTF8&ll=40.788656,-75.301132&spn=0.013947,0.027829&t=m&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small>View <a href="https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210482792163180929888.0004ee106569dbd42d44a&msa=0&ie=UTF8&ll=40.788656,-75.301132&spn=0.013947,0.027829&t=m&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">12/21/2013 8:37am Jburg</a> in a larger map</small>

fun night again, grippy snow, interesting set and the red castle hazelnut porter flowed like ... beer! 3 dead straight gates to a cranker at the top of the flats needed quick light feet, I had neither and just sorta screeched to a hault and needed to skate at the end of the flats and finish on the red. second run felt much better but I got lost with a gate down. I could of asked for a re-run but it was cold and may not of improved my time anyway... or even worse crashed out may hit bluestar thursday night before they switch to sl sets in a few weeks

There's some more places in north creek, no?

Nothing a qcik pit stop at camelback couldn't fix, I shoulda joined root at blue and made it a 3 ski area day!
-
Fun morning for sure, good terrain snow beer and company!
-
The best snow tonight was on main st, switchback and lazy. Made for a good workout and kept warm skating to the quad. Saw root and Johnny law when I first got there just after 4 then never saw ''em again. Blue got 2-3, by no means a pow night but it sure did make a nice squeaky smooth tread.

HOT OFF PRESSES! weird, not letting me cut & paste - ANWAY RACING IS CANCELLED TONIGHT! It looks like we have another week to figure it out!
-
Well looks like it's on for tonight, the lineup? jeff - ? won't be there tonight, uncommitted / IRL Johnny - ? I think so but no confirmation N-Glenn - IN Toast - IN Dave - haven't seen him around blue this season, will likely show up Mike - IN unfortunately I have to coach a 6 pm game unless I can get someone to cover the bench. I'll run up after the game like 8'ish to register and jump in for the set if theyre still running - remember tonight is practice! Nastar Glenn is in charge of recruitment (again) this year. Either way we'll recruit or join another group so if you interested post/show up

Nice Root, I'm bummed that I'm so slammed at work - it would be a great day to be schwacking around the woods. I may xc ski Saturday morning instead of blue..
-
Met the fam for a few runs tonight- snow was great although runs limited to paradis3, lazy/falls and come around/midway/Burma. Saw Johnny law. Guns were blowing a veritable winter wonderland!

Blue has a good pioneers program - 4 weeks with the same instructor which is nice. Weekday afternoons and weekends. While weekdays is less crowded you don't have worry so much about the crowds on the learning hills on the weekends. I started my kids (3 of them ) around 4 or 5 - old enough to understand instruction and most importantly carry their own crap, although I did feel like a pack mule on many trips!

damn main st looks good, will be there saturday
