  1. Wrong. Overextended or not, what happened at Greek was their lender folded and no one bought the loans. The FDIC assumed them and forced them to file and now is forciing a sale. Gonna be an interesting march...
  2. Soggy morning, chute bumps were fun twss
  3. blue sat am, sunday pm sunday afternoon planning on getting in touch with my inner hippy - free range folk (a great local bluegrass/roots band ) is playing in the bar so gonna check 'em out then try to hook up with the blue tele tribe on the 3 pins before heading off to play hockey
  4. meh i would have no issues going alone, obviously not headed back/side/slac alone but you can always find someone to ski with.
  5. really, reliance on gps and smart phones instead of common sense and experiance is probably why most of the joeys are lost in the first place. can be too hard on 'em though - ive been a turn or two away from being lost or beyond the point of no return to the trail a few times myself. it wasn't my innate sense of direction or my mad mountaineering skills that kept me from being one of thse guys but a bit of common sense and fear.
  6. just reminder to those that got passes - theyre good ANY DAY/TIME now! Use 'em up!
  7. i know telebutch has been pushing for'em on fb too - good on them! Greg Straub at the clinic mentioned they were trying to get bumps on chute. Looks like they succeeded! I was looking at the webcams today and salivating at work. congrats on geting it!
  8. shweet! theres bumps on chute?

  13. looks like a fantatstic trip - glad you were finally able to pull it off. lol about the toilets, during my european travels i thought about putting together a coffe table book of the crazy contraptions those euros think up
  14. We checked 'me out in few spots, definitely needs more snow to ski the trees
  15. really i'll take neck tat's (although i was really hoping for eyelid tats), the daily sibhusky pics and barb's reports over gss's daily dribble any day. if nothing else he's a funny dude and has a zinger every now and then. i understand the entertainmeny factor for the newer folks but ive been around here way too long so its just his shit just old and worn out as far as i'm concerned, i really don't pay much attention either way. i like pandas
  16. oh he's already asked - i think u need to be 18 though
  17. after getting skunked late season last year, my son and i decided to take advantage of the decent current conditions and the weekend off of his hockey schedule to do our annual whiteface trip. we headed out after school friday to fight the nj/nyc traffic up the thruway for 6+ hrs to get to my cousins farm in black brook around 9:30. on the gondi by just before 9 saturday morning for what was certainly one of our best days so far at the face. soft gun pow bumps with a dusting of fresh overnight was the course of the day. started with a little appy on wilderness and lowere mackenzie - we couldn't beleive we were the only ones on the trail! moved on up to the summit and lapped skyward a few times. snowmakers were cranking as seen in the obligatory summit shot then off to lookout mountain. ran hoyts high - super fun trail with twisty pitches, and some fun hoot-worthy big low angle bumps skiers left approaching the chair at the bottom. lookout below hadn't been open on our previous trips so we had to go for it. the snowmaking wales made for some challenging drops but really constricted the flow, once was enough. snow was great on the wilmington trail so did that again before heading to the base for lunch kid is really making me start to feel old - just can't keep his pace temps were perfect, low/mid 20's and sun - no wind. after after lunch on the bar deck we just lapped skyward blasting some guns 'n hoses, alternating between lower sky and and victoria. last run of the day from summit to base gave a sense of the awsomness of the mountain and was good for giving junior a poaching lesson, spotting him down the drop and waiting for him at the blazers bluff exit. skiing pow bumps 9-3:30 pretty much wasted my legs legs for sunday, tried talking the kid into doing a bc hike and ski from the adirondack loj but he wanted know part of it. back up the gondi 9:15 sunday morning. then right over to the summit to see if we could pick up where we left off on sky. groomed and blown off by the increasing wind we headed over to see if the lower section of hoyts had been groomed as rumoured. nothing doing and from the chair the mogul troughs looked and sounded pretty scratchy as we watched some decent skiers struggle down. we passed on hoyts sunday for the great snow and protection from the wind on wilmington, smooth and edgeable. we went back to the gondola for a few rides to warm up before they shut 'er down on wind hold, last ride up was unnerving to say the least with a few stoppages. i guess most people went in for lunch at that point, the quad line was moving pretty well. ran a nice run on parkway (again the only ones on the trail -wtf?), smooth edgable and freakin' fast, to get owned by the kid on the skier cross course. ended the day with one more wilmington cruiser before heading out around 1:30. we were pretty freakin cold by then (never saw a temp?) and junior has make up school days from sandy and had class today. our weekend got cut short but it doesn't like were missing a whole lot today. guess i'm gonna have to make another trip up to do the avalanche pass thing. overall the snow was GREAT, maybe a slick spot here and there at heavy trail merges but easily avoidable for the most part. crowds on hill were avoidable or nonexisitant, lift lines were moving decently i think we had one long quad and 1 long gondaloa wait. damn good holiday weekend in my book - they even discounted tix $10 each instead of the full $35 greek peak passholders discount dealio for the blackout day
  18. free gss oh snap wrong site, doh'p
  19. shouyld be a great night! hopefully everyone's raedy to go
  20. meh me think i'll stay on the other side of the mountain. although i remember being in the lazy river in sesame place thinkin how cool it would be with a beer ball tethered to my tube. it'd keep the water allot warmer too
  21. another fun night... course held up well for as soft as it was. johnny and dave looking smooooth, now we know how johnny style got his name! sam ole same ole here on the second run - if i ski the top half well i can't handle the speed on the lower headwall and go into survival scrub mode. and of course the fog clears out right after our second run. hopefully glenns back in the saddle next week. molson special was good too!
  22. it's ON bitches! from blue mountain racing: Monday Night Racing is ON tonight! Our last race night is scheduled for Monday, February 18th. hopefully the fog clears out
