damn wish'd i woulda caught up with ya for a run - great skiing with ya again this year, have fun rest of the season - next year monday night pasr team
-
thats why i like to mix it up with some racing, bumps, (lil) park, cruising/carving - every day or even within the same day something new. skiing with the kids and wife always makes it tons of fun and its always good skiing with the blue pasr crew. after college until i met up with you goofs a few years back i skiid alone alot of the time since my friends weren't that into it or at the same level. the other night when mrs snowbunski was having boot issues noone was around i bagged it early - it just wasn't that fun skiing alone i did the snowboarding thing when the kids were small to equalize the playing field - took some serious bruise the first few times out. it was fun but came back to the skis - much better tool for our east coast snow

yea it just kept getting better and better as the night went on - my legs gave out around 9:15. landmark night - jr spun and landed his first 3 on lower park

thats a wack route - we usually eat and drink at the silo, tc's is cool to check out kelly clarkes medals and stuff. get to the woods on north face - skiers far left trials, i think
-
the parks should be eliminated the trails are too windy there

who's teaching them? all the above have good kids programs - don't think it matters much. i definately suggest a lesson preferably on a weekday - more attetion and they have great techniques for kids to learn. been through it 3 times, after the lesson you can have some fun...

set out yesterday afternoon to enjoy the mild weather and soft snow. played around on the memorial sled hill and at burnside plantation, couldn't really tele turn with the lumpy soft snow so step turns worked (kinda)

i've been wanting to get a xc setup for a few years. with wednesdays storm i figure the snow will be around for a while and pulled the trigger on a full setup right after my session at blue that morning. i had been looking on ebay and craigs list for a while for a cheap rossi evo trail type ski - touring/light backcountry dims with no luck until i found some cheap whitewood skis complete - dims are 68-60-65 with NNN binders/boots. they arrived friday, waxed 'em up and set out from home along the rr tracks after my staurday morning blue ski. had to ski my own track in until i got to some foot path traffic that made it easier - alot of work but had a blast sunday was easier with some more skier and snowshoe traffic fun little log roll line charging up the bike light for some night skiing looking forward to hiting some more challenging lines - thinking about taking em up to the blue bunny slope to try some tele turns - might be a a good idea to try it without trees...

up until this past december i shared your skepticism believe me - however if you stopped in hope lake lodge you'd see what a first rate job they did on the building itself and seem to be doing in running the place. it's already paid HUGE dividends for us - in major fun, which is our primary objective of return on this thing! for right now i take the mountain for what it is - your points are accurate, but i still contend the overall snow quality and terrain are better than anything this side of VT/northern NY making it very attractive to alot of folks. since december i have certainly come around on this and again as i said earlier believe that the will do a first rate job on the on mountain improvements as well... i guess time will tell. oh by the way they are close to if not booked solid this weekend which isn't too shabby for a new hotel in a shit economy

i can vouch that those condos and the water park are not empty by any means, yep i own one . they are the first of a phased plan, i only hope the on mountain improvements are as well done... The plan is as follows: This spring will begin the installation of a high speed quad from the base area to the top of what is now chair 4. At the top of this area will be built a new restaurant/lodge facility. There is also additional terrain suited for beginners at the top of the mountain. Look for this phase of the project to begin this spring if all goes well and end in approx 1 year. Future trails will be build off of Arcadia Gate on Chair 5. There will be a trail under the new chairlift that will be installed, one over from the top of chair 4, and 2 that head toward the bottom of chair 5. Any trail map at the resort highlights these new proposed trails (one green, 2 blue, one black). Look for that to begin the year after the new lift is installed. ... See More Along with that look for remodeling to the base area. All told this phase should take approx 2 years to complete, after financing is secured. with the current economic state i'm not too optimistic about the time table but it'll happen in good time
