thats freaking great! Johnny Style as the ghost of Chadds Bump I learned on a similar hill, Ski Mountain in Pine Hill NJ in the mid 70's. It was pretty cool you could see the philly skyline from the "summit". it's now a golf course and condos, maybe one day i'll have to go shoot a round there...

i hear ya, pretty fair assessment that their weaknesses are snowmaking and amenities - i just never let lunch define the score. reagrding snowmaking on any given year its not an issue due to the natural snowfall which is way down this year. all things considerred i still think the snow and trails that ere open are fantastic and don't miss any closed stuff except for the woods. regarding the pub, we laugh about it - always a crapshoot, yesterday was fast and good, they were empty. on busy days i order 2 beers, a chili and the check to minimize the frustration! yesterdays report: temps in single didgits but a fun morning for sure - gotta love the first runs of the day of an inch of untracked dry fluff on fresh chord. highlight (next to seeing noshit camp and crew of course!) was getting to the top of #4 just as gail dropped the rope to castor - got first tracks with the deadicated dude on mars, then checked out the criss crossing sine wave tracks on the ride back up... i felt somewhat compensated for leaving 5" fresh at blue. we rolled out around noon to go home and plow the driveway before game time

yea been a tuff year for snow up there this year for sure. skiid saturday and this morning in 1-2" fresh lake effect on crisp chord - great 2 days in my book. not sure how 6" dry powder, good conditions, grooming, and 2 excellents end in dissappointment, f*ck the chicken sammich - more tracks for me

have fun guys - hope ya get dumped on! we got an early morning hockey game then headed to greek peak. My daughter's last hurrah before her acl surgery wednesday - wants to get away, cruise the groomed and hang with her peeps more than plow the pow with a bum knee...

for the most part but they seem to get a fesh coat like we got yesterday every few days which goes a long way as far as surface quality was planning on heading up this weekend but sorta in a holding pattern to see how this storm tracks - hate to head away from the snow if it looks like blue will only get a couple inches or so we'll head north
-
i haven't been up during the week but i don't think they run the #5 triple on weekdays. even on weekends that chair doesn't run til mid morning some days it looks like just mars hill and olympian are closed - still plenty of hill to cover!

$ is kinda relative in mtb as well as skiing i've heard good things about azonic outlaws being a pretty beefy bang for your buck

uh... i'm going to go out on a limb and probably jinx myself here but dumb question - did you shut the door before you tried to pull the key out? the bigger lockers also are more than 75 cents too... i've been getting lockers at least once a week for race/clinic/week night sessions over the last few years and haven't had a problem - last week i even foun $.75 in the locker ah shit i shoulda deleted this post im phuqued now... -
damn cold but a great weekend. -14d when we left my cousins farm in silver lake lake saturday morning. on the hill by 9:15 to follow the sun aroun little whiteface then up to the summit before breaking around 11:30. run of the morning was upper skyward on the first wave of the summit chair opening. after lunch lapped the lookout mountain chair a few times on wilmington - not quite sure what the ice warning was all about? firm but edgable like every where else. sunday was a bit warmer, gotta love 20's with sun and snow showers all day. serious fun in the man made po on mountain run before hitting parrons and lookout mt to cover as much of the hill as we could. bumped into face4me from nschat - its always cool in a semi weird cyber way to stop for a breather and have someone ski up to you and ask if you post on line! a great trip, can't wait to get back when thers a little more snow. gotta love the greek peak discount - 2 tix for 60 beans woo hoo. i pussed out on the pix exept for a few obligatory tourist shots here: http://s193.photobucket.com/albums/z112/mbike-ski/Whiteface%2010/?albumview=slideshow

nice ... a real "cali day"! i usually don't upgrade components until something wears out or breaks! disk brakes then fork would be the most noticible upgrade in terms of performance. depending on what type of riding you do the other thing would be clipless pedals/shoes if your not running them now and are doing xc/trail type stuff

there's some starbucks/ panera bread places around just off 22 if thats what your looking for - would be about 20-25 minutes fromt the mountain. also wegmans at 33/248 and 22/512 - i've taken my laptop there before just to get out of the house to get some work done. the 512 one has a mezzanine level thats pretty empty in afternoon and evenings i'd find it tough to really get anything done in the lodge. hotel lobbies work too. i'd do the wegmans and a late lunch...

gotta love the blue drama the ticket checkers were telling a story about another incident about someone flipping out on a little kid for cutting them off or something... mountain was dead last night, conditions were pretty good though, seemed like they blew lotsa snow - waaaaay betterer than tuesday night. nastar/raceway was fast and flowy and the bumps on barneys were primo, nightmare bumps were small but tight - couldn't find a rythm... was lookin for ya johhny style - everything ok?
-
hmmmm, its all good - like pizza and sex (and i mean with a partner jeff ) but last year there was no freeze/thaw until like febraury or so - i'll take that snow/weather at blue over this years any day
-
