  5. cool, that was probably the best time of my life... savor every minute. i stayed at villa glori - up via flaminia towards the olympic village. looong walk. top ten memories from rome in no particular order: getting chased (and caught, in sites of submachine gun) by the caribinieri for ripping down posters seeing robin zander from cheap trick get pants'ed by a girl while drinking birra rosa in a bar behind the pantheon watching the mob destroy the city after a world cup semifinal win - forze roma! coronetti with peroni huge bar fight while the violent femmes performed jesus walked upon the water soooooo much architecture and art the american movie theatre in trestevere siesta seeing pat metheny and john mclaughlin/mahavishnu penne arrabiata, real carobanara
  6. i'd like to be there right now! http://www.onthesnow.com/austria/kaprun/skireport.html
  7. thats awesome...i was at temple u rome but spring ('85 ouch thaats old) we set off - about 6 of us, to ski before school started in january but couldn't, was one of the coldest winters on record and most areas were closed - people were literally freezing to death and it took all of our time to travel by rail from luxenbourg to rome. rome actually had like 4-6 inches of snow when we got there (first time in 20 or so years we were told) and kids were sledding on the capitaline. didn't ski during the semester, too much other fun stuff to do but after wards headed from a week on the beach in greece to vienna (crazy town) then kitzbeuhl. it was late may/early june but there was no snow left, locals told us to head to the glacier at kaprun (infamous for the tragic incline fire) so we did. had great spring skiing for 2 days than got dumped on - knee deep plus super light po. my buddy wouldn't go out but i ended up skiing all day with socks on my hands and a sweater tied turban fashion since i had no gloves or hat - the skiing bag man! sorry, i guess that rant didn't help much but it made my day remembering it... i think t*maki did some skiing there and from what i remember it wasn't real easy to get to from rome though... and our original plan in january was the swiss alps... we had a connection in bern (i think) but got snowed in for few days
  8. when we were ther for the august sale they said early october.
  9. niiiice johnny style....livin the dream! you gotta make it back for some tuesday night gates and beers tho!

  12. hmmm dunno - there was a really nice rv in the lot for a few weeks this spring...
  13. everybody's jones level is amping up and things get a little bitchy, a little relief.... i like blue since i ski alot of days in pa, its close to home and offers the best variety for me - cruisers, park, bumps, race programs, lots of peeps to ski with - and now lift serviced mtb!
  14. very cool, great tr and pics!
  15. there was a week or two last year when it was really nice - i skiid it quite a bit and felt like i was getting real exit/re-entry off the lip (if not than pretty close!) than it went to sh!t. they definately did a much better job cutting it last year, i think because they cut it much tighter to begin with and subsequent cuts didn't screw up the tranny. a little snowmaking would go a long way to preserve the condition. its definately way under utilized because of the (bad) shape it gets in, i just don't know if theres enough riders/skiers who actually ride pipe to warrant its own tow though...
  16. thanks!
  17. afterbangs look pretty cool - if i were a few years younger i think i'd be gettin some! i did score some new boots - head raptor ltd's. i only got out once on the racetigers last year so they seem new too... mrs snowbunski got some volkl fuego's - now she says she needs a new jacket to match i need to pick up some new boots for junior and that'll be it for gear this year. hopefully can a score a deal at nestor's august sale - anyone know when it is? usually they send out cards but i didn't get one this year...

  22. seems the same every year... blue, greek peak, mt snow, camelback definates. more days at gp since the condo will be done whiteface, trip out west, tuckerman all hopeful
  23. so far so good. these and answer's seem to be the only things that i can find to fit my feet . not too many shops stock answer(manitou) if there even around any more and didn't try the sidi's, wasn't gonna shell out the 200 clams. fit and adjutability is good, the double toungue/redundant laces and straps is a little goofy - will probably chuck the laces after break in. soles are great but come at a price as they're heavy as hell- definately not for the weight weenies out there. i need to drop 15# of my chassis before i get concerned about a few grams though
  24. last week bought these and plucked a pair of these off of tramdock yesterday head raptor ltd rs hf
  25. giro animas - it lokk like giro dropped this model this year
