I wasn't mad at the starter, he was just doing what he was told by some (never mind), I was just frustrated at the course setter guy apparantly in charge. In my job I spend a lot of time and energy going the extra mile to keep customers /clients/vendor/subs happy because it reflects well on me, our company and inevitably pays back tenfold - I guess I expect that from everybody else! If I look at it from the flipside and saw a family with 2 little kids wanting to do a few runs on what could be one of the last days of the year, I most likely would have braved the 60 d temps until 3:05 or so to accomodate them! -
I just got out of a meeting with an Architect from Boston who calls Burke VT his home mountain, home of Burke mountain Academy. ANyone ever been ther or know much about it? Apparently the mountain has been in some financial trouble in the past and was just bought by a large management company planning to sink some big bucks into it. He's in his late 60's and still races He asked if our "club" team blocks gates???? I told him Im just a NASTAR newbie, for now....

I stopped rooting for him, I think it was Bode's slalom run on the combined in Torino, when he was totally toast at the botom of the run. You could see his "training" was getting the better of him, pretty sad. I think he's got some serious problems, any one know why he didn't go to South Korea?

Yeah, I thought it was pretty lame - especially since my wife, my son and I already had registration #'s. It was just really frustrating, even my younger daughter was game for a run, it would have been a great end of this season for her and a big confidence booster... The kids wouldn't have cared so much about the meadal but Mrs SnowBunSki would've been bummed if she didin't get a Camelback medal for her to add to the collection!.. The guys attitiude (not the kid at the starting gate) was just sooo bad...It's too bad when people who hate their jobs -especially cool easy jobs!!! -

Took some spring runs at camelback yesterday -Thanks to Ski Patrol /Shawnee MS Bonnie! Beautiful day for a long sleeve-T (some bikinis and grass skirts for the beach party girls! ) Heavy mashed potatoes and good practice for the pond skimming thing tho! I got a beef with Their NASTAR guys, the web said NASTAR til 4, Mrs. SnowBunski is on a medal mission so we get to the shack at 2:40 and the kid in the shack say they're just goin til 3, come back tommorrow. I say thers noone on or waiting to run or lift lines, we can get a few runs in by 3 (I need 3 for 100 NASTAR runs this year) he says so sorry , they end sign ups at 2?!?!?? I see a couple of camelback vests 1/3 down the course standing around and ski over to ask them WTF?!?! The one tells me that they end at 3 sharp and he means it no more sign ups, my reply is it makes no sense. He rudely exclaimed "it would if you had to work here"?!?!? OOOOh, yeah must be pretty tuff skiing and and setting/breaking down the course in 60d weather. Is management that miserable up there or is this how they treat thier customers ...certainly doesn't do much to promte NASTAR or their area... We saw the Steeze- mobile ( DE plates black H2?) loading up on our way out and tried to swing around to say Hi but he pulled out like 2 cars in front of us... -
Nice job y'all!!!

I was only there once but it didn't seem like there was too much pitch, I guess they will open it up along the fall line more...

Oh, so all this time those guys from Bayonne were speaking Svedish!

I'm looking out my window at work gettin ready to bug out and head up blue.. a bazillion snow geese (white with black wing tips - not canada geese) just flew by heading west, getting blown all over the place. Yesterday morning I walk out of my garage heading to work and this squirrel is bouncing across my yard...THWUMP! a red tail hawks nails him and just stand over him with his wings spreadlooking at me for about 15 secs and gets spooked and flys away. The squirells still on the ground wriggling when WHUMP! hawk #2 comes down and takes him away! Signs of winter staying around a bit? I hope so...

Mrs. SnowBun-ski got her invite today - thats all I've heard!!!! AAAAHHHHH!
-
Thanks...the conditions tonight should be prime for you to silver - as long as theres no moon craters like last week. I'm bummed I'm going to miss the big showdown!
-
Lots'0-fun!!! THey really do nice job with the timekeeper anouncements - name, hometown, times run etc. The course was more forgiving then blue - makes for a great place to lose you Nastaar-ginity. Mrs. SnowBun-ski rocked the creek bringing home some new jewelery! Bronze and Silver! That was the first time I was at Bear Creek and i gotta admit I was a little enviuous of the lodge/lounge - the wings are way better than Blues!!!
-
Yeah, on the road we look like the Beverly Snow-Billys...not at bad as when we go camping with 5 mtbikes on the car and a beat up 17' canoe on top of the pop up camper!!! (deliverance music in background...) Hope your guy feels better ...
-
I know it's lame but when I tossed out 'STAR for Thursday it didn't go over too well with Mrs. SnowBun-ski - there's still a glimmer of hope but I'm not counting on it. It's no small task to pack for 5 w/equipment etc.!!! Beachie, I woke up with a bad hack too this morning - sucks...
-
Probably gonna miss Thursday NASTAR at BLue this week (got pack for Mt SNow) so I'm thinkin about hitting BC Wednsday since I have a few passes I have to use - anyone else going? What time does it start?
-
Very Cool!!! Thanks for posting those!!

The snice - wasn't quite snow, not really ice - was giving me alot problems tonight, just couldn't get it together. I keep telling myself that skiing the the different course conditions SHould make me better, just waiitng for those results to show! Mrs. 'ski even did 2 NASTAR runs tonight, she'll be on my my heels in no time! Glenn & I Lost doug & atomic at the top of challenge. challenge was really funky with big sort of rollers from the snow making, were pretty cool to compress/decompress on - you could air/hover 4-6" above them and land and the backside before turning into the next one - kinda cool. Looking forward to the freshies this weekend! Could make for some very interesting croquet!!!!

I was listening to Matisyahu earlier!! My daughter thought they were Amish !!!

Wow! Three post in as many minutes - a new record for me! Maybe I feel a need to help fill a certain void on the board - Any way. I'm thinking about new skis this week and need an all mountain ski that'll let me ski from NASTAr over through Barney Bumps to some RAzors rippers. I'm looking at head XRC1100's, atomic SX10's or metrons, Rossi B2's all of which I think I can get in my budget on the net or next weeks sales - any input?
