Nice load... Money well spent!

I will say, 3 of my four facilities across the country have or are completing construction projects this year. Overall, all timelines have severely missed due dates due to supply and labor challenges. Im still hopeful Blue's lift works out in time, but I would not put money on it.... FINGERS CROSSED.
-
.. and they still probably won't run the quad and 6-pack at the same time at opening bell. (Assuming terrain is open for both lifts)
-
Nah .. could not have been me as I've never been to PHL airport... Must have been someone else.
-
Yeah, I've been around, just not very active... Enjoy reading mostly. The only time I really remember meeting anyone from the site was years ago up at Jack Frost during one of your PASR days. Rode up up the lift with someone.. think it was Thinksnow... ??

Yeah, I have a season pass. I typically only get there once a weekend, but occasionally make it for both days .

So, I did two days at Thredbo in Australia this week. I would have liked to have done more but the 2.5 hours drive from hotel in Canberra was long enough to limit my days. Still was nice putting last year's Ikon pass to work abit more before our season starts in a few months. Wednesday was a glorious spring day with nice soft bumps everywhere. Today was a little bit of a different story as it rained most of the whole day. Overall Thresbo was a fun mountain.... It kind of reminded me of Brighton with fun rolling terrain but not a lot of steep stuff. Also, it had a little bit of the akwardness of getting from one lift/base area to the next. The overall vert is more than the Catskills but less steep... With the chairlift vert coming in at between 1400.-1800ft.. Downside for me was that the highest terrain was only serviced by TBars, so I only did that a couple of times(still hate them .. haha) Anyhow.. definitely a good time. If is would do again would try to go in late Aug versus early Sept as I was hearing from several people that the lower terrain had taken a beating in the last week or so from warm temps. Typically I was seeing the top elevation with temps of 2-3C and the base at 8-9C. Few pics attached..

It depends on which floor. I usually park in the top floor so I have more 'privacy' for changing in and out of my clothes.... You got to walk down a flight of stairs and the walk is really not any further than from where you all park to the 6/pack or quad..
-
Looks like I need to get there on a weekday.. totally empty! Ive been twice for opening on Sunday this summer and it is empty for the first 20 minutes while everyone changes in the locker room .

Very true.. it is my first year as 1k too.

Flying United between SFO-Sydney and then Sydney-LAX on the way home... Confirmed for Business upgrade both ways (Thank God for 1K!!!). Flying Virgin Australia inside the county as they partner with United and get reward points/miles, plus they give me priority boarding and lounge access... And stuff with the 1K Oh... And I'm taking my own gear. I get three free checked bags, so I figured why not.

I will be there for 8 days:: Spending 4 days in Canberra(with two day trips to Thredbo planned), 1 Day in Gold Coast, and 3 days in Sydney.

Getting the season kicked off early, going to Australia in September... And going to get two days at Thredbo(putting the Ikon Pass to work)

Possible upgrade for Elk?

To be honest most people who are serious disc golfers look down on the terms 'frolf or Frisbee golf'.. but can easily be used in conversation with newbs. There is a growing number of pay-to-play courses(typically ~$5), but yeah you can always find free courses in public town/state parks.
-
I would not recommend learning disc golf at Blue Mountain as even experienced players can get frustrated with searching and losing discs in the ' rough'. The course is not well maintained. As you get improve there are some thrilling downhill shots, but the risk reward is high. There are bunch of nicer and also more beginner friendly courses in the LV area. The LV/Philly/Poconos is loaded with courses. Use the UDisc app to search and find courses. I highly recommend learning...trying.. DG has been my addiction longer than snowboarding.

Agree... Parking at Newark is the worst. I too luckily get 2 free bags with United.. and also found out on the the way home from SLC on Sunday I get a 75lb limit versus 50lb limit (board bag was 55), so I did not need to spend 100 dollar overage fee.
-
If this does happen... I worry losing the main st chairs and the vista lift(if I understand correctly)will make the base even more of a cluster. Now all of the beginners on Burma and Vista will be going to the bottom and creating even more chaos at the bottom of Main St to the base.

Note, I've flown only with United and Delta... My current trip(United)... I packed 3 boards, two sets of bindings, boots, helmet, base layers, jacket, pants, socks, googles, tools/wax,...., In my snowboard bag. As long as the overall weight is under 50lbs I've not had an issue. Now, I do tend to only put items that I would with wear or use for snowboarding.

Too bad, Sloop has a great Peanut Butter hamburger!

My thought was it would open but then the whole Mall defaults on their loan and it closes again 😒 In the short time , I hope the still accept my passes that expired in December.

I have chosen Blue, the last three years. Currently im equal distance between Blue and Montage but previously lived 10 minutes from Montage and held a montage/sno season pass for several years. Now, my biggest draws to Blue is the high speed lifts and also the consistent longer season ( early opening date and later closing date)

I'm hoping Ikon is not going to make SLC busier...maybe just spread the Ikon passes out more across Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton, and now Snowbasin.... Sorry I don't count those Ski only resorts. In th end, Ikon seems like a no brainer for SLC area
-
As everyone said.. hope the person flown out is doing ok. My 2nd lift ride up the quad ended up being with ski patrol. They got the call to make their way to Razors right as we got in the lift. Outside of the first patroller down with the sled, these were the closest patrollers. When we got to the top of the lift I hung on the chair as long as possible to give them free runway since I was on the right side of the chair. After doing a second run down Main St, I got to the bottom to see the quad closed. Since I hate waiting in lift lines, i made the decision to head over to the beginner slope. I don't have the discipline to ride switch on the rest of the mountain. I'm getting better at switch, but let me tell you it is really weird doing everything switch... even riding the lift and skating.. Too bad, I missed the good snow..Upper Main St was really nice, but the switch 'training' was long overdue.

They have had a fantastic expansion plan. They've focused on a lot of rural areas where the closest grocery store can be 15-20+minutes away. I've never been to one before they put one near my brother's house. Driving 5 minutes beats 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store or Walmart for an immediate need.
