  1. Went and made snow for an hour. Only made a little since it was marginal and the wind carried it and coated my grandmothers car roof which was parked in my driveway. I'm not going to bother posting pics, there was little snow and with the mist you could only see the frozen water and not the snow. Only had minor problems, the compressor tripping the breaker and in one case shutting off with out tripping the breaker... I hope to god I can get to home depot to get that hose tomorrow.
  2. I'm off now to start making snow. I should be able to start now. Pics later tonight or tomorrow.
  3. I thought the same, Doug but sometimes the lights give off a glare creating an illusion of snow.
  4. Just check blues cam to see if they blew.
  5. Well I could run my combo gun tonight but I went to get the pressure washer hose to find out the dog chewed it over the summer Thats all right though, its a little windy where I am going to start so I will just use the y gun until I get a new hose tomorrow. I'm all set and could actually start blowing now. In a way its good because I wait to really start using the combo when it stays in the 30's for highs.
  6. I was out setting up one of my guns, and happened to look up to blue, and saw they lights are on! Bring on the snow
  7. Yeah I had trouble last year with air going back into my house water lines after the check valve failed. I have a lot of cfm due to my Ingersol Rand T-30 air compressor my uncle gave to me from his old shop. That combined with two other compressors gives me 46cfm. Sometimes I have a 185cfm compressor and just use that. Since I have a lot of air I want to use it all. Thats why I have so many pumps. I haven't quite finished my other pump so that will be done soon. Right now it looks like I will just use t and y guns as it is going to get warm the next few days. Next week I will fire the combos and other guns. Good luck to you Lurker, Pyro, Mark, and anyone else who is going to make some tonight.
  8. Ok here is a link for the pics. Just ignore the rust on the floor. It rained and flooded when they built the house and it kind of ruined the basement floor. Ignore the mess too as we are in the middle of finishing the basement. http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p..._album&album=81
  9. Thats fine I'm posting a link for pics anyway.
  10. According to my weather station and the forecasts from the Weather Channel/Accuweather I should be able to start snowmaking for 2005/2006 tomorrow evening. I have included below pics of some guns (not all) and my snowmaking stats. This is going to be my best season ever with the addition of five new guns to replace old guns/upgrade my system. I have also decided that I will not be making snowguns for home use, only for resort use when I start my business. I came to this conclusion because I just don't see a strong enough market for home snowmaking, and I don't want to be a sell out to home snowmakers. In about 2 weeks my snowguns will be sent to various resorts (not all local) for testing. If all proves well with the resort guns, I will be opening for next ski season over the summer with five snowgun models, unless I get my tower gun plans back from an engineer in time for production then I will have more. The best thing about my business is my uncle a former snowmaker came on board and really helped me a lot with his expierence. My uncle who is a mechanic is also helping out by allowing me to use some of his stalls in his huge garage for storage. Lets all hope for a great ski season. Bring on the snow 2005/2006 Snowmaking Stats Number of snowguns: 18 Number of compressors: 3 Total CFM: 46 cfm Number of pumps/pressure washers: 6 Total GPM: 18.3 gpm Number of guns able to run at once: 6-8 (depends on type) Usable GPM: 12.4gpm Amount of hose: Just shy of 3/4 mile Number of Hydrants: 4 Number of new guns: 5
  11. Well, I'm back from Chicago. Doesn't do me any good anyway, my uncle doesn't work there anymore.
  12. No right now my weather station says 32.4
  13. Nah, I don't have a ramp or kicker but before my sister went to college she had some rails and built some jumps. I just like to sled down it, lol. Nothing like having the only snow in the neighborhood and having all the little kids envy you.
  14. I know I'm waiting to fire up my guns at home, but its not cold enough. I live in Orefield outside of Allentown so its always a few degrees cooler. I hope it doesn't get cold until atleast next Wednsday because I'm going to Chicago tomorrow and I will be ticked if it gets cold enough.
  15. You want to go skiing, head down south. Both snowshoe and a place in North Carolina are making snow. The place in NC is thinking about opening tomorrow. See the links below. http://www.snowshoemtn.com/mountain/photos...aking/index.htm http://www.cataloochee.com/ Well as it turns out, it doesn't look like the one in NC is opening tomorrow. When I went to get the link the conditions report said they will not open tomorrow. I didn't check Snowshoe, maybe they will open soon, but probably not tomorrow .
  16. DOUGLAS!!!!!, You had better edit that post before the snowgods see it and punish us! Just like when Jeff drove around with golf shoes in his trunk last January. We had that freak warm spell and r@!n. Then he removed them and we had cold temps all the way through March.
  17. Greg, I'll sell you my 174 K2 axis xt's, they only have about 15 days on them I like k2 a lot. They make good skis and they have wood cores. The only problem with wood cores is if water ever gets into it, its ruins the ski. I have the K2 Axis xt's and skied them last year, they were good and don't chatter if you go straight down a hill without turing. They turn pretty easy and I think my 174's had a 17m radius if I remember correct. I personally don't like Dynastars, but I've only skied on one pair of Dynastars. I would say go for the K2's if those are the two you want. Check out this place they always have good deals on ski gear. www.untracked.com
  18. That pic should be against the law...
  19. Just the B-day gift I was looking for. Last year I was able to make snow on my birthday, but not this year. However if mother nature gave us snow I'm satisfied.
  20. Sports Chalet is good, its closer to my house than Nestors. They have a nice selection of gear and are very friendly. Doug, what part of Allentown do you live in?

  24. Just a reminder, if you ordered a pass to blue you can get your pic taken this weekend. You can go this Saturday and Sunday, November 5th and 6th from 10am-4pm in the main lodge ticket office. You can also go next weekend when they have the ski and snowboard sale, November 12th and 13th from 10am-4pm. Or you can just wait until you go up for your first day of the season. I'm going to being going tomorrow for mine.
