Ha, at blue I went tubing once and the tubing attendants were shovel sledding down where the lift runs up. The one guy took a nice roll and just barely stopped before rolling over the side of the mountain.

The only thing I hate about this prediction for us is it will get bitter cold but then we get warm spells. Now how much do you want to bet that when its bitter cold outside we will have no precipitation near us. Then when it gets warm we will get so much precipitation, but it will be all rain.

ha shawnee has to open early because they made a commitment to their timeshare holders that they will have skiing by a certain time. If they get real desperate they would probably buy ice and grind it up and call it snow. Even when they do make snow early, they usually have like a 6" base which is bad news for your ski/board base.

I don't know if this would work for you guys but you can buy Insta Snow. I guess you just add water and then you have snow. Eh, never mind the link I posted don't work. It probably won't work for you anyway because its expensive.

I like everything except for the warm spells. I have this funny feeling we are going to get a good blizzard this year, we are overdue.

I'd assume at the same time they open the shop. Maybe Justo could answer that one.

When I was on the phone with Nestors in Quakertown I asked when the Whitehall shop was going to open the ski shop for the season. He said they are going to open on Labor Day weekend for the season. Just thought I would let everyone know.

Just mounted my other binding. Took only 8 mins to do it. So I figure the next time I do it, it will take 20 mins or less. I will try and take pics later and post them in my album. BTW, thanks for the help Jeff. I really appreciatted it. For anyone else who needs to mount atomic bindings, look no further this guide is COMPLETELY accurate and I had no problems what so ever mounting them myself/setting the DIN. I think this should be pinned for others to look at down the road...

It allows you to move the toe piece in different positons on the track for different skiing conditions. For example the race 614 has 5 settings. They are extreme, all round, and carve with half way increments between extreme and all round. Jeff can explain it better hes the expert.

Well I mounted one binding to one ski. I have a question anybody with atomic bindings will know. I locked the varizone setting into just one setting. Is there anyway I can change the setting without having to remove anything? If I have to remove something I will just set it in the position I want now than later. I just put it in one setting because it took me awhile to get it in a positon. But once I figured it out it was simple. Basically what I mean is can I go from the extreme position to the all around position without removing anything or must I remove the plastic cover(connects heel and toe piece holes with a screw). When the question is answered I will mount the other binding. Its really simple acutally and if I can do it anybody can. It took me about a half hour to mount the first binding and thats because I never did it before. The second binding should be finished in about 10 mins or less. Just one more question, whats with this thing on the toe piece, it says "yellow active" "red locked"? Is it supposed to light up when the boot is in? Because if it is it didn't do it for me. I just set the DIN on the lowest setting. When they are done mounted I will just take them to a shop to have them check them like I do with all my skis in the beginning of the season.

Yeah, but where and when are we going to do it? I might try and do it myself later, I tried it yesterday on one and it seems simple just screw the screws into the plate.

Yeah, I bought them on ebay for $299 with the bindings. The total cost with shipping was $329.99. When they got here they had the price tags on it. The MSRP was $1,125 (03/04) and they were selling them in their store for $899. What a deal.

Jeff, where are you going to take your bindings to get the release check and din setting done? Nestors isn't an authorized dealer, I called to ask for the heck of it how much it costs to do the mounting. He said they are not an authorized atomic dealer and are not sure if they can mount/check atomic bindings. He told me to check either Pelican or the Loft.

I agree I love Markers, but my Atomics can only take Atomics so thats what I'm stuck with. The only thing I like about the Atomics is the varizone settings. Other than that I think they are heavy and cumbersome to lockup.

I was awoken to the DHL man at the front door this morning. My skis are here! The box came pretty damaged, but the skis were wrapped in so much shrink wrap and styrofoam that it took about 20 mins to get them out. I took pics but I don't know how to get them on here. I thought there used to be an attatchment tab at the bottom of the new topic page. If someone can help me I'll put up some pics. All I have to do now is mount the bindings, wax them, and wait for snow. This whole time I was blaming UPS and it turns out it was DHL. DHL must have lousy shipping, every package I get from them comes in a battered box.

I never knew Mack Trucks had a ski club. A lot of people on my mothers side of the family started out working at Mack Trucks. I always wondered if they did the Bulldog Race Series at blue and according to their site it looks like they do. That other site is really crappy looking.

Ha, for the safety of my sister I am not posting pics If he can't be trusted with my life he cannot be trusted with my sister. No no, my sister doesn't mumble. She is a loud mouth bad a$$ who could have been found in detention when she was in middle school thru high school as well as ISS. My parents gave up punishing her after she just kept getting in trouble. She believes that rather than talking things out with people, that beating the crap out of them is the way to go. She is away at college in Salisbury University. She snowboards every once in awile and I told her to join this site but she says "it looks stupid." Sometime I will have to post my McDonalds story on here for you all to read it involves me, my sister, and McDonalds. If anyone cares let me know and I'll make an effort to post it. Besides the only reason I mumble is because if you get loud in my school you never and I mean never will hear the end of it from all the teachers.
