Rob, if the equipment is a problem why don't you look into making your own grass skiing equipment? Then you can sell to the resorts that offer grass skiing and people who do grass skiing as a hobby that wish to own their own equipment. It doesn't look like too much competition for manufacturing grass skis so you could have your own niche market. Rob, YOU could revolutionize the grass skiing world as we know it, lol.

Ah, that maybe the place I am thinking of. I still say that if we got a place in the Pocono's to offer grass skiing and mountain boarding they would make it. They would only have to open a few lifts to service the mountain thus keeping the costs down a bit. The location is also perfect for the market. New York and New Jersey are both close by and if there is no place up north that offers any of these summer sports I'm sure it would attract people to the Pocono's. Someone like blue or elk should offer it seeing how they have no summer activities going on, on the mountain. Bear Creek also has potential seeing how they don't have anything going on, on the mountain either during the summer months.

They may open earlier than the pocono's because some parts of the Appalachians down south are in a higher elevation then us. I know that there is some ski area in VA that offered grass skiing and mountain boarding.

I would have considered the night pass or off peak pass, but if blue is getting NASTAR I will just go there and do it.

Yeah switchback is a good run. Its one of blues best kept secrets. I don't care how crowded the mountain is, your almost guarenteed to have switchback to yourself. It kind of reminds me of the Dromodary at camelback.

Be sure to posts some pics Jeff, I'd love to see them.

There used to be one down here in Whitehall, but it isn't there anymore. I just checked on the PIAS website and they are still listed as there but they aren't. I sold a few pairs of skis to them in the past, but they won't buy outdated stuff. When they were there I was told that they bought ski equipment year round, but maybe each one is different seeing how they are a franchise.

Yes. Play it Again Sports will buy them if you are near them. If not put them in Nestors ski sale and if they sell you get a store credit. Try not to create multiple posts for the same thing.
-
Play it again sports buys used snowboards, if you have one in your area. EDIT: Just an FYI, they will check out the board and then make you an offer. When they make you an offer they will give you a check for half of the amount. The other half is theres. For example, they value your board at $150. They will then give you a check for $75. If you don't like that idea they also do consignments I believe. You could always put it in the Nestors ski sale and get a store credit if it sells.

My friend from school, Tyler Devine came in second last year. I guess it goes by age groups though.
-
You could always check on e-bay or gear direct, both usually have great deals.
-
I don't really care that much for shawnee, but thats just me. Otherwise its a great deal. I think thats the price for the buddy passes correct? I told blue they should offer buddy passes like that, but I doubt they will. Jeff, e-mail blue and tell them to get buddy passes, lol.

Exactly, the only reason why razors edge is so good is because of the York tower mounted guns. Compared to the rest of the mountain with the older conventional air/water guns. The only good thing about the older air/water guns is that they allow them to blow in warmer temps compared to the towers/hkd's. Thats why when its marginal at night and all the other mountains can't blow because they all have fan guns/ towers blue is pumping it out on most of the trails because they got the oldie but goodie guns. Hands down, blue is a snowmaking powerhouse, there simply is no arguing with that system.

I agree with you with two things. One the grooming does suck. Second Burma IS a death trap for noobs. I always try to avoid that trail. One time I got ran into by a noob and took us both out coming around the corner. When I first learned to ski as a kid, I can only remember bad things about Burma Road because I always wiped out going around corners and over the side, especially at night when it ices up from all the traffic.

Yeah, blue just barely makes being "in" the Poconos. I don't know when ever I ski during the day I don't have this problem with the snow like the rest of you do.
-
Thats great, tell siblet to hang in there I'm sure she will make it!
-
Whats wrong with the snow?

Sorry papa, asked my boss can't get off this weekend. I can't get off until beginning of September...ugh. Maybe on one of my days off I can meet up with you guys. I'll give you a call sometime.
-
Ah, good pics papa! Your caption "Sometimes reeling in big fish clears the beach" is so true lmao! In all my years being at our beach house in Ocean City, I have never seen someone catch a shark surf fishing. When you go to Assateague you see guys (and gals) reeling in sharks all the time. I wonder what the tourists thought when they saw it lol. BTW how far is Lewes from Rehoboth? Its a good half hour up 113 from OC. My friends from school are getting a new house there and I was wondering how far they are from Rehoboth.

Andrew lol, you can find any type of ski and snowboard at a swap. Junker skis/boards to top of the line ones. They are all at a good price. Nestors has a ski swap in September and you can always find good deals there. Papa, when we get the dates for the Nestors Ski Swap you should post it in the calendar.
-
lol, just look at how cheap a season pass was. Eh, that probably converts to what it costs now.
-
I was supposed to go to that event for the last two years but we never got around to going. I'm told we are going to definitely get there this year....sure thats what I was told last year.
-
A ski swap is where you can buy used skis at a good price.
-
MC does have a gondala.

Blue would have the first 6 person lift in the Poconos and probably even the state.
