Sunday 11/23 report...nice snow..warming up..day #2
antman12 replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
Just got back myself. Was there from about 10 till 1245. Relatively no lift lines, sunshine and springlike snow. Couldn't ask for any better. The park was pretty fun and no sticky rails which is a plus. Lazy mile wasn't too crowded and always fun to find some fun sh-t to get into on the sides. Hopefully they don't lose too much snow over the next couple of days and they can back to blowing. -
Fuuuuark I regret not going now. Probably/hopefully tomorrow AM.

"if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball!" you make a good point doe. Not sure if ill be up this weekend. Best bet would be before the eagles game on Sunday. Saturday will probably be a mad house and as much as im feigning for some riding I might wait an extra day. -
Looks like a hell of a first day!

Thanks for posting these pictures. Really cool to see some aerial views of a project my company is currently working on. thanks!

Cant somebody ban this douche from the Bear forum? Nothing but hate. Anyways, I damn near broke my tailbone on the down c rail 10ish days ago thats still giving me trouble and I havent been able to ride since. Hopefully by the weekend ill be able to get back up. Any ideas on when we can expect to see a full cascade/BB build?
-
To the left, hhmm never had that problem, I just taking too much speed into it. It seems a little mellow. Cant wait to go up tomorrow night, tonight was so fun.
-
Your not allowed to complain on here...people might start to cry. Anyways like you said Parkcrew has been keeping everyting on point so far. But again like you said the park is reeally spread out and empty. Tonight was a lot of fun with decent snow. The jump on cascade is a little weird as I keep over shooting it, but fun non the less.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ huh?

allow what? your not the boss of this thread... No love for the BC forum the past couple days... Icve been up everynight this week, and the snow has been amazing everynight. Tonight (the 23rd) was a little windy so I peaced out early. But mon-wed the park was pretty fucking nice as far as conditions go. I usually dont get up till 6 or 7pm, and even by 9 the snow has held up w/o much ice. Now if only we could get a couple new rails or they redo the park that would be sick. BTW the candycane and last jump in tuding are MONEY...I cant wait till the make the jump bigger. I feel like Bear doesnt take full advantage of thire trails, theres SOO much room between all the features. Its frustrating when you see twenty rails just sitting on the side of the trail, I guees we will just have to wait to see what the Park manager has in mind with them. See you guys tomorrow if anyones going up.
-
Alright maybe I shouldnt have said something worth riding, my bad Anyways the park was pretty on point tonight. Not much ice, Blackbear was really fun. The jump at the top is nice, although a little small. Bear can you PLEASE put a light on the landing of the top jump on Black Bear. I know a few other members have mentioned that before.

I guess im incompetent because i actually like to carry speed into rails and actually jump onto them, compared to practically riding right onto them... "the big boy park", now thats a complete joke when looking at the features they have set up, give me a break. And cascade is soooooo boring, the hip and down flat are fun but other then that theres nothing fun to ride. oh and I didnt know that they had to be open for a month to have properly set up down rails. Freedom was 10x better then cascade is on Boulders opening weekend.
-
Completly agree, the "park", aka random rails is sooo boring. Like you said all the rails are the same and are poorly set up. The most fun feature to me is the hip, I never actually thought id say that. Theres no flow at all, which makes for a boring park. Ive been riding the other side of the mountain becuase of how boring the setup is, and imma "parkrat". whatever i guess we will just have to wait until they actually make something worth riding.
-
yea its deff boring and really beat
-
Yea I thought they were going to have it as a flat to up rail too. Its really fun though. Am I the only one that cant stand all the rails being so damn low? Park crew needs to shave the takeoffs lower, personally i find it really hard to lock into tricks when all the rails are 2 inch jump ons? Anyway the new set up is still kinda boring. Hopefully they will actually "build a park" soon, rather then just random rails and jumps. Cant wait till they set up the new cannon rail.
-
I completly agree amd find the feature to be fun. All you need enough speed and your good.
-
7springs, by far the only legit pipe in PA, okay well that I know of.
-
The new setup is ehhh okay. The jumps were on point yesterday and got better as the day/night went on. the new pole jam is sick, and i like it better w/o a landing. The new butter pad has potential. tobad the rail is low as hell and like said before, you usuaully have too much speed for such a tiny rail. The new candy cane set up is a lot of fun minus the landing being a couple feet too far. I never hit the mailbox/420 box becuase the jumps were so fun yesterday with the soft snow. IMO they should just scrap the 420 box, a waste of material for a boring, no skill needed feature.

Naked (Practically) Skiing and Riding at Bear Creek
antman12 replied to HouseMuzik's topic in Bear Creek
Id say around 8:30 9:00 -
Went up last night from 630ish till closing. Conditions werent terrible even though most of the good snow was pushed off. Its ashame that cascade doesnt really allow bear to build progressivly bigger jumps. It would be sick if they could build a step down jump halfway down the inrun to the first jump. Which could possibly allow them to build bigger jumps towards the middle/buttom of the trail. Also I would love to see a mellow down rail off the cliff, with a nice landing like it had earlier in the year.

Yea I saw those losers. A pretty lame way to get attention IMO. And I dont think anybody from bear cared, I saw them at the bottom gettings dressed and nobody was giving them a hard time.
