1 complaint i have that may have already been brought to your attention is the ski patrollers/instructors/sat's going through the terrain park and carving up the ramps to every rail and box in the place. They are suppose to lead by example. It's nice to have ski patrol in the park..but not jumping sideways off of the run-ins for the jibs.

New lighting (or added lights) is a top priority for next year, especially on the park. From what i understand they will be installing all new and automatic lights for next year, if this idea is only just being tossed around, it needs to be bumped towards the top. Need more special events, deals, and other promotions if you want to attract a crowd. Once they get there and see how much they like the place they will be hooked. Lose those cheesy a$% commercials please! They beat jimmy and johny, but not much else. Advertising for "loki's terrain park" with 1 clip of someone hitting a jump in a blurred background doesn't do much in showing what Sno's terrain park has to offer. Get some actually footage of features in the parks. Also don't forget to include mainline in the count of "2 terrain parks, possibly 3 for next year. I know this is in the works but : park passes. Do some research and find out how some other popular mountains do it. Realistically, passes really only need to be implemented on weekends until Sno blows up. But don't do a daily sort of pass. Charge $5 for the year (throw that money into the park) and require a short video that goes over what NOT to do in the terrain park. A video with the actual features at Sno would be nice, but not necessary. Make the video available to be watched when we go to pick up our season passes. Pre-season rail jams. Pre-season video launches, singings, free food, anything to get the kids itching for snow to make the drive and see what Sno has to offer. Blow a huge base on the park to keep it open as late as possible. Boomer too. These are just my opinions, don't jump down my throat if you disagree, just state why you think it shouldn't be done. I'll add more but soon i have to wake up and drag my tired behind up to work there tomorrow, i'll keep my eye open for some improvements.

Anyone know how late sno plans on stayin open?

Yeah i work there 5 days a week, 4 day shifts one night shift (sunday). I'm usually at a top shack (iron horse or phoebe) so i don't get much interaction with people unless i'm building a killer sectional sofa at the top of Iron Horse like i did today . Tomorrow there's a good chance i'll be at the top of Iron horse, 8-315ish. -
Whenever i'm working the bottom of a lift (mainly shuttle) i'll always keep an eye on the little ones that get on the lift alone until they get to the first tower. If i see them trying to get the bar down but aren't successful i just remember to follow the lift a little ways and lower the bar for them. Especially on days after they blew snow on highball..the chairs can get kind of sketchy with little kids. But her accomplishments are coming in leaps and bounds Ski. Next year she'll be tearing up northface all day everyday

They are closing the park thurs and friday to fix everything up in the park and to add the zipline camera thing for the competition on saturday. Things are going to look different in the park come saturday, some stuff will be moved around and some stuff plowed. They are supposed to make some snow but i don't see it being full slope coverage, probably more for the ramps of the lifts, hopefully more than that though. Cannonball took a beating at the top of the 3rd headwall, white and boomer still had nice coverage. I imagine the base on boomer is pretty big. But the park took the brunt of the bad weather spell from the few slopes that i rode on.

Parks a mess and will be closed tomorrow and friday, don't waste your time for park riding DH.

"liftguy" who exactly are you? Liftie, supervisor, manager, poser, none of the above? as for chairs running up to 600 feet per minute i couldn't imagine that. Shuttle runs around 330 fpm and twice that amount people would be having their legs taken out from under them at Sno mountain.. -
I was working the bottom of that lift today. We took a few runs after work today, everything we hit on northface was in nice condition. Took a run down fast track but the fresh bit of powder ontop of the crusty ice from the last storm didn't please me too much so we left after an hour or two. Also a wall ride will be put up in the park sometime tomorrow.

The lifties there wouldn't check for your ticket if you told them you didn't have one -

Well what i said was that we usually hike, alone, for runs up there until the snow is gone. Now the proposed idea is to charge me an extra $10 for what i normally do for free, AND make it crowded ontop of that. I am fully aware that Washo held up the deal, but there is no reason the owners shouldn't sympathize with the pass holders that paid hundreds of dollars expecting their promised opening date of December 15th. -

Well..the word going around that i'm hearing is April 1st. As for the $10 lift ticket thing..personally i think it's BS. I already paid over $500 to use that mountain. Not to mention how much later the season at Sno started than other areas around here, they should be hauling in ice rink shavings into June to make up for that, not charge an EXTRA $10. I think it's a horrible idea. I'm up there hiking for turns into May for free, without a bunch of other gapers wasting away the snow, when they close in march. And hell ontop of all that, it says on the scanners that my pass is valid until June 1st. I won't be paying any extra money until June 2nd. -
Got up there around 10 this morning and there was practically nobody (surprise) on the mountain. Spent the better part of the day doing laps on the park. Everything in there was in good shape and the landings were soft. The bunny lift is broken down and may be like that for a few days until a part comes in from overseas unless they can track one down here. As a replacement the magic carpet is running and open to the public over in the ski school area. Only got to hit up cannonball, LR, and White on the bottom but all were good. The bumps on White are still young and all over the place, overall in decent shape, but a few icy spots between the bumps.

I don't know how much you get paid or like your job, but the lift department is always hiring and scheduling is pretty flexible. Pay isn't too great though..6.75

The first hit i wasn't popping out enough but i've got that down now. I don't know if you saw the one where i did a messed up rotation and landed on my ribs then front flipped down the wall onto my back but it was actually pretty fun . I also caught up my nose on the deck and dropped to the flat on my back but it was the soft side so no problem there. It seems like skiers have an easier time making it out on the hard pack side than the boarders do..i can't come close to getting out on that side.
-
Yeah that was me. I was thought that may have been you but i didn't want to look like an ass if it wasn't I only got 1 run that i was satisfied with but i was getting the feel for it. I took off once the sun went down because i didn't need to be busting my ass on that thing once it hardened up. I landed on the deck a couple times but thankfully nothing major , i'll be spending some more time there tomorrow afternoon/night.

Then perhaps your should either stop buying piece of shit boards, or get the right size board for your size aside from that, i rode the pipe today for the first time and had some fun. I got worked a few times but it's nice to try something new out.
-
Last time i saw the pipe, around 5pm, one wall was cut and looked perfect, and it appeared that he was starting on the other wall. I would bet that it will be open tomorrow. It's short, but they promised it and you are getting it.
-
Long haul is safe to ride, don't listen to the hype.
-
No setups or jumps have changed since sunday. I still recommend always taking a run through without hitting features to check them out, or atleast the jumps. Not sure if the "quarter pipe" is still in good enough shape to hit but its to the riders right of the last jump, just make sure you don't think it's another table top..that wouldn't be good
-
I'm not sure what the Planet guys plan on doing at this point. They have 1 wall pushed already but i don't know where they are getting enough snow for the other side, the season is over in a month anyway. I don't know if the snow we made into a quarter pipe is going to be turned into a quarter or if that snow is just sitting there for the other wall of the pipe. and if you try to stay on your edges on a snowboard you are likely to eat shit.

On a busy weekend like a president's day, i wouldn't think of that as a viable option. Long Haul is a straight shot to the top and many people fly right past it and get in line for Phoebe. I'd take waiting in 1 small line and a very slight longer ride on the chair than waiting in 2 medium-long lines (depending on the instance) which would probably take longer than option 1. As for crowds on the weekends, they are significantly larger than the weekdays (obviously). Fridays are usually packed with all of the school trips and saturdays are packed with all the families. I would imagine it will be pretty busy for the holiday weekend. Normally we have around 15-20 people working the lifts on a weekday morning, for monday they are aiming for 40, if that's any indication.

Was a very slow day at work today, even got to make a pretty nice 2 seater couch at the bunny lift. Winds stayed away throughout the whole night while we were riding, it was a perfect night to get some runs in. Was a little busier than a normal week night but there was a school or two there. Bumps were really nice on smoke, but they were all over the place on White with no pattern what-so-ever so we only hit that up once. The snow was in good shape though.
-
You're comment was still idiotic at best. Moving on...the boxes were sliding nicely tonight. The battleship was still a little sticky but do-able. The rainbow was a bit stick on the down part, but also good enough to hit. We spent a few minutes cutting out that mound of snow next to the last jump into a makeshift quarter pipe. We only cut a small section and didn't make it fully vertical but it was still fun to mess around on and an extra feature for the park.
-
That's the zaugg sitting in the parking lot, bad picture..i didn't feel like walking all the way over to take a picture. As for the boxes..they are most definitely sticky. I watched so many people stopping ontop of boxes tonight it was ridiculous.
