  1. http://snomtn.com/conditions/trail.htm It hasn't really been 5 years...but it's still awesome
  2. straight from Sno Mountains website: Starting Monday the largest terrain park on the East Coast will begin to be constructed.
  3. Yeah me too...it may sound a bit selfish, but if he's hurt it could be a major setback to the park(s). other than that...they were also grooming (or pushing snow around, i couldn't tell) upper runaway earlier today, that will definitely be opening soon.
  4. He was trying to launch over about a 8-10 foot high banner just off of a ramp up to the picnic tables. It was a bad idea from the start. They should have done it at the jump but the people filming probably didn't want to walk their lazy asses halfway up the hill.
  5. update: neptune f@#ked himself up attempting to clear the banner. They brought him to first aid and he came out with his arm in a sling and shit and he got into a car i'm assuming to go to the hospital.
  6. Just got back from a few early turns and the conditions at Sno were freaking amazing. They blew on boomer and white, both were in the best shape you will find them without a natural dump. Early on boomer had at least 4 inches of fresh stuff on top, it was like floating on clouds. White had some nice bumps along the riders right and were all topped with a few inches of pow. I'd get up there soon if you can, tell work you are feeling sick . Spike has some pretty big piles and atleast one that has to be 20 feet+ tall that appears to be getting worked into a jump. They had a banner setup across the picnic tables and Neptune was launching over the top of it for a picture and news crews were showing up also.
  7. I don't think the kids working the bottom of 5 today even took the scanner out of the shack once..
  8. They've got piles of snow taller than the lift stations on runaway, the snowmakers tonight said it should be open midweek. They are planning on making more snow on white tonight. They won't be 100% tomorrow, that's not possible. But the firepower up there is insane. Like Ski said, enjoy the empty slopes while they last, because Sno is going to be one of the most popular places around once all the updates are completed.
  9. Sounds pretty rough..was the guy on the snowmobile another ski patroller?
  10. We were being really anal the other night telling kids to put their bars down because the chairs were coated with ice from snowmaking and it wouldn't come off. If you have 3 boarders on a lift all you have to do if you are in the middle is lift the nose of your board in the air while the bar is coming down and then you can easily get it onto the foot rest. Then just lift the bar at the last tower and your board will slide right off and you'll be good to go.
  11. wrong.
  12. and that has what to do with TTB riding?
  13. They took out all the trees to fit in a pipe and just wider for the terrain park. I wouldn't bet on ttb with long haul anytime in the near future. They didn't even start blowing on upper or lower fastrack/runaway yet.
  14. are the C-boxes set up going different ways or are they both the same?
  15. What time are you headed up? I'll be riding alone after work (around 3:30) so i'll keep and eye out but it will probably be packed.
  16. I could have sworn you were daring any of us to go out in public wearing a klan suit.. But yeah i bet having two kids with you skiing is tough too
  17. there is a good chance of switch getting opened up either friday or saturday, unless they want to save it for races or something lame like that. I don't think highball will see an opening tomorrow though.
  18. well, it will cut down on waiting to hit a C-box if there's 4 of them They will probably be set up differently though
  19. klan member?
  20. I think so, i only got a quick look, it may have even been two c-'s laying together but i doubt it..look at what the park is going to look like this year compared to last year then try laughing.
  21. I don't have an idea of which features are going in. Our supervisor said he needs help putting stuff in tomorrow but i most likely won't get up there. I was off last night but i'll be working tomorrow night. Pictures of the feature constructions (not the actual ones for Sno):
  22. Well i was going to start a new thread but i'll throw it in here instead. 1 jump on mainline along with a roller. Some features will go in tomorrow. The list of rails so far is as follows: -2 picnic tables -1 A-frame rail (6-8 inches wide) 25 or 30 feet -1 Flat bar 30 or more feet about 8-10 inches wide -4 C-boxes of various lengths -1 S-box only about 10-15 feet long -1 rainbow box about 15-20 feet long (not much of an arch, more of a crushed rainbow) -and a few various single barrel rails All rails are about 2 or 3 feet high, except the A-frame probably around 4 feet high or so, and of parklogic type construction. One support in the middle, not closed in on both sides.
  23. Forgot my beanie so had to come home . Cannonball is open, but the last turn is groomed poorly so watch out for that. White lightning is going to be open by the end of the day. It appears that they are building a big jump on mainline, but i could be totally wrong, just what it looks like. Going back up for the night
  24. Cannonball is opening today so no worries about northface, i would bet one of the other trails will be open too. I just got back from riding for a few hours and the conditions are awesome up there. Fresh powder down the sides. Also 2-3 cliffs to jump off of from snow off to the sides of mainline. There was a big one down by iron horse but they plowed it. Switch is looking really good towards the bottom 3/4. The top still needs a little work but it will be open by the weekend. Headed back up for a few more hours now.
  25. Breaking News , Cold weather has allowed us to make snow over the past 24 hours non-stop and we continue to make snow on 18 of our 21 trails. We expect open the north face of the mountain on Thursday and have the majority of the trails open by this weekend. Both the Super Kids and Day Care center will make there debut on Saturday. Our new magic carpet will accommodate three year olds and up as they begin their ski adventures. Several rails will be installed beginning on Thursday Jan 18 as Ryan Neptune of Planet returns to the mountain. Daily and Seasonal ski storage will be open and our new trams will be running to accommodate passengers to all areas of the resort. Our new Sn
