Yeah orange cast.. They were blowing a whole bunch of snow all over the place tonight. Supposedly Phoebe is supposed to be open thursday, but don't hold me to that. They opened mainline around 8pm. By 10:30 there had to have been at least 4 or 5 inches of powder at the base where the guns were blowing. Cannonball is looking really good, look for that to be open soon. Tonight i volunteered for the top shack because i didn't want to be freezing my balls off. I took the top of shuttle and since mainline wasn't open until 8 i didn't see more than 20 people all night until it opened

Yeah i saw you..i'm working tonight 3-10:30, then friday(night), saturday(morning), sunday(night), monday(night). I only wear one tan glove on my left hand because my riding gloves won't fit over my cast..so just look for a fool wearing two different gloves and that will be me.

i just pretend to work there. but really..I don't know who you are so i can't really say if i scanned your pass or not. I was at the bottom of iron horse tonight. from the site: News: Planet starts building Loki's Terrain Park Planet Snow Design has been building pipes and parks since its inception in February 1998. It is a rider-driven company solely dedicated to creating the best snowboarding venues on the planet. The company is responsible for many of the industry

Well the scanners may be hanging around for a while..aside from the battery dieing twice, they worked well tonight. Only had a few wrist bands that didn't work. And one actually said that the ticket had expired 35 minutes ago, first time i've seen that.
-
Unfortunately on a night like tonight where the majority of the skiers are pass holders, it's going to appear that the system is almost flawless since the season passes usually scan fine. We encourage every skier who mentions their dislike of the scanners to go and complain to the ticket window, especially the ones that have to go get a new wrist band. This upcoming week will be a big test with low temps getting into the teens..

That's some pretty thick fog..you couldn't even see the lights from 81 when i drove by..i actually called to see if they were still open.

for the first part of the day they told us just to let the season passes through, but around 2:30-3 they were starting to make us scan everyone. Today they even had us sending the people whose wristbands weren't working back up to the lodge to get a new one. The success rate on those bands is about 1 in 4,working to not working. Season passes work like a charm for the most part.

i guarantee that none of those places have even the smallest fraction of errors that we do at Sno. The type of scanner that is being used is deigned for use in warehouses. The owner of the company made excuses for errors saying that it was because of the cold and it was busy. haha right. It was 40's yesterday and no more than 200 people. Give me a break. They will be gone faster than you can say "these scanners effing suck". None of the patrons, lift operators, or supervisors want them, as for the snowguns i was wasn't paying much attention when the talk was going on but there are polecats, super polecats, and wizard guns. The wizards are on the park and produce big piles at a short distance, that's all i really listened to. Also i think he said the guns that are on whistler are the supers.

It's like a scavenger hunt trying to find season passes. People have them on the ankles, knees, elbows, arms, pockets, and hidden by folds in the pants. You get accustomed to just waving the wand over the wrist and wonder why it's not working and then about about 10 tries the person finally tells you they have a season pass on their boots. WTF . Absolutely rediculous. I did nothing but listen to people bitch the entire night about them, rightfully so. But it's a pain in my damn balls too, remember that. Just cross your fingers and hope the batteries die like happened twice to us on shuttle lift tonight, then we see your pass and you keep on going. This system won't last long, if it does (which there isn't a chance of happening), they are going to lose tons of business. They should have tested it before opening day, hell they had a month. There is only one sensor on the wrist bands so if it's on the bottom of the wrist and you are waving the top, no go. Not to mention you have to guess where exactly the band is on the wrist. Under the glove? nope try again. On the wrist? nope try again. Ohh half way up the 4 year olds arm, bingo. Not to mention i feel like a pedophile leaning over to scan kids passes when they are on their boots. Nobody is going to be yanking there gloves off every lift ride when the temps drop in the teens, and i sure as hell won't be taking my glove off to push the stupid button on the machine.

i just got back from a few runs, decided to come home and grab something to eat before work. Conditions were pretty nice, snow was soft, but whistler had some bumps here and there. They were fun to pump through and such but be careful when it gets dark over there. I don't recall seeing you ski. The lodge is open but the cafeteria is not, there is a tent out side with food in it. Watching that heli hover around was pretty cool..i made it on the live news at 12 for wnep, but just messing around i the background, no talking. I also got first scan on shuttle i think, but maybe not..no biggy to me that's what i was thinking.

alright i'll keep an eye out, i'm headed up now with my Agent from last year.
-
anyone heading up for 12? I'll be riding 12-4 , khaki (tan?) jacket, pants, and goggles.
-
Whistler has/had lights but they are few and far between. I wouldn't expect it to be any different this year, hope you have been eating your carrots
-
beat me to it..
-
cannonball looked pretty healthy from the road but i couldn't get too good of a look without slamming into the back of another car..cannonball or white will be the first diamond to open..i can't imagine white opening before cannonball, that is just unheard of
-
haha i'll most likely be in a top shack, probably not in pheobe though since they sometimes have to help with unloading injuries.
-
Well that depends on the looks on their faces when they see my broken arm... or . But yes, i am scheduled to work at Sno tomorrow.
-
Well it's no fluke..they will be opening. I've got work at 4:30
-
well they called the lifties up to figure out a working schedule for friday, so all bets should be on opening tomorrow, still keep those fingers crossed.
-
I haven't seen the guns going on whistler all day, so maybe there is enough base for them to open that, i still find it unlikely though. I didn't see the conditions of mainline or highball but i think they can open friday if they concentrate on the greens with as much guns as they can.
-
as of a few minutes ago they are still making snow over near mainline and also on white. As of now whistler is the only trail that has no green or brown showing, but i still doubt it has enough base to be opened.
-
upper runaway has a light coating, whistler has what looks like the biggest "base". White is white, and so is cannonball.
-
Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
-
Well they took down the bit on the Site that kept changing weekly. But get ready for snow snow sno at Sno Mountain... Get ready for Snow, Snow, Sno at Sn
-
Use the money from the open bar to pay some dump trucks to haul ice shavings up to the bunny and have a lift turning There is enough snow on those trails that they could have had at the base for a rail jam. Something is better than nothing And bear creek had a couple things going on this past week i think, unless you mean just for new years.
