  1. Well honestly, it doesn't matter to me where the beginner park goes. But, if the tubing park is going to be moved, i want to see a pipe there, not a beginners park. It would be the perfect placement..easy tow acess, easily acessed from the top via mainline, easy to view competitions from the base. I'm not a fan of the ski team. Alot of them are stuck up a$$holes who think they own the mountain. They cut people off left and right, while not thinking twice about it. They set up and takeover a slope whenever they feel the need. They usually leave smoke in shambles by the time they are done with it. No offense to you ski, or anyone that may be on the team, just my opinion. So, no i didn't take them into consideration when i was throwing around those ideas. But if they are going to be lengthening their course and making improvements to switch, let them stay there. Either park could be placed on whistler as it was years ago, if sno mountain buys the place and throw some extra guns over there. It's certainly never a priority as things stand now. Spike is closer to the beginner trails..that would be one reason for sticking the beginner park there.
  2. i forgot my boots one day and didn't feel like going home to get them and i had to rent... One of the worst on slope days of my life. But yeah those rails pretty much suck...i loved the tripple barrel at CB. Was so warped and what not that it was almost like a mini rollercoaster rail.
  3. DH, how long will you be able to supply with this stuff? Is it just pre-season type stuff, or will it last into the season as long as supplies are still there? I might start trying to find a new owner for my 05 agent and scrore this years. Can you get prices on anthem(51) and artifact(53)?
  4. That's awesome...maybe we can start throwing some ideas around in here? That way if somebody can't make it then whoever is going could still relay the info... I liked spike as a location..easy lift acess and it's one of the slopes that open first ( aside from the obvious ones ). Maybe the beginners park can be half of switch like two years ago.. I think last years park would make a good beginners park as it was, but the jumps needs to be scaled back a bit. Perhaps having some slightly wider rails in the beginner park would be a good idea too.. I'm not too crazy about wall rides.. if it wouldn't cost too much, sure throw one in there, but i'd rather see a nice flat down rail or box instead. Park passes. Charge $5 and require some sort of video. Take the money from that and throw it into more stuff for the park, not new skiis or snowboards for rentals. If possible, a stair set...box on one or both sides, rail in the middle. Doesn't have to be anything huge like a 20 set. A nice butter box, wide and long. And i love that battleship/rainbow type rail at MC.
  5. Sorry, was in a hury. Parenthesis meaning, someone trying to stop the positive sale of a ski area, not negative(as in selling for the land and shutting down the resort, etc.) How about now?
  6. Get over it...? This site is afterall named "PASR" ( Pennsylvania ski and ride last time i checked). Someone making threats about a ski area not being sold ( selling to make improvements, and better conditions for skiing and riding), shouldn't be brushed off lightly, atleast not on a site reserved for winter sports. Now i don't know if you have ever been to montage...but if not, maybe you should take a visit sometime. Sno Mountain is going to do wonders for our ski area. Of course we are going to be defensive about someone trying to stop that from happening, could you expect any less?
  7. Sure upper/lower fasttrack would be nice by mid-end january,or by the beginning of march for that matter, but liftlines like prior years ( no lift lines ), is always fine by me.
  8. um the one by the BP gas station and the flashing yellow warning lights? Just moved here a few weeks ago so i don't really know any street names or anything like that. I went to West, graduated 05. haha, sorry i didn't mean it that way. I meant hopefully i won't have to resort to driving the half an hour(?) to ride instead of just driving 5 minutes to sno mountain.
  9. Directly off of the 81 exit, probably less than .5 miles away.
  10. I'm in moosic also, hopefully won't have to resort to that but i guess we'll have to wait and see.
  11. Bingo.
  12. why jf/bb ? Is that the next closest place to scranton? I'm starting to look at other options..
  13. $50,000 isn't enough. He should be sued for the price of the deal, and pay every cent.
  14. Being good at photoshop isn't the issue for me...it's looking for a picture of a transvestite hooker that has me worried .
  15. I don't think he was saying that that is going to happen with montage, just mentioning that people buy golf courses and level them for housing, as what may happen with montage. Leveling the mountain for housing. But elevation change is always fun on a course, a nice par three from top of cannonballs headwall would be interesting
  16. I agree ( hopefully i won't get personal attacks and flamed for saying that ). Although i don't know how much an acre would go for, i have no idea. But they are bankers, who is to say they aren't going to 'cut someone a deal' when they are looking to build a house to get that person to go through their banks for the loans..more cash in their pockets. I don't know if there are any legal restrictions against using a bank that is that far away from the house site or something like that...again just throwing things out there. Sure they are going to spend millions on snowmaking and other improvements, but do you think there is no re-sale value on any of that equipment? Hopefully it all works out the way most of us want it to.
  17. ah thanks i guess i read right over that. Well since they are moving snowtubing and putting in a magic carpet that frees up where snowtubing is now. And i think i read that they are installing a carpet for the new snowtubing? If so i'm assuming that means the tow rope won't be used? If not hopefully it will get thrown into the park that would be pretty nice..or leave it where it is, do some grading, and throw a pipe in to replace the old snowtubing area.
  18. Do you have a link to the proposed trail map? I missed out on sno mountains TV proposal so i am kind of in the dark about all of the improvements... I'm still wondering if they are planning on moving snowtubing and if so where?
  19. Hiking boomer at Montage Sno Mountain in april we had build a chute on the left near one of the tower guns ( chute sucked we didn't have shovels..but anyway). We were there for an hour or two and then hiked up both headwalls and got in the vehicle and drove all the way home before i realized i didn't have my phone. We tore the car apart and it wasn't there either so i came to the conclusion that i had lost it while hiking. By this time it was already getting dark so we had to get there as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, i had the phone on vibrate so listening for the ring was not an option. Three of us started walking the path down boomer that we took earlier in the day and got all the way to the chute, still no sign of my phone. We were about to leave when i saw a hole in the snow that was rutted out from water and decided to look in it. Got on my knees and peered into the hole and there was my phone about 4 feet downhill of the hole opening. Had to get a stick and dig where we thought was the right distance...took us a while, but i got it back.
  20. I didn't get to see any drawings or diagrams of snow mountains plans, but did i hear correctly that they are going to be moving the snow tubing area somewhere else? If so where?
  21. Do you know the name of this "manager"? I don't work there anymore..i worked stand 1/3 for a while but then i got stuck working the deli alone which sucked ass. It was the coldest place in the entire stadium, it was like a wind tunnel because it was behind home plate and all the wind came right to it, also it was right outside of the office so there was no messing around there with the managers walking past constantly. So i asked matt if he would move me the one day but he said no and kept on walking which pissed me off, so i went and told bubba i was leaving and my friend and i walked out, didn't go back. My other friend quit working at the mountain this past season too because the one manager (i think it was rich) wouldn't give him a lift ticket because he said they didn't clean up enough the night before, which was BS. If you plan on working at the mountain over the winter i wouldn't depend on cpi too much to give you passes, more often than not he had to buy a ticket. And tuesdays were hell. Do you work with a chris matthews?
  22. what exactly is your job ? nevermind, got it in the other post.
  23. as of yesterday, boomers second headwall is covered on the left side from the first tower gun(maybe about 15-20 feet down from the top) to about 20 feet before the end of the headwall. Got a few runs in before we ran out of drinks and were too wiped out to take any more.
  24. montage probably won't look too good after these couple days of rain. last day i was up there was april 15 and boomers entire headwall was covered,a path wide enough on the first headwall, and a decently long stretch on the flat next to the white lightning sign, was a good time. There was also a few patches still left on spike but they are probably gone now. Boomer may be hittable after the rain but you will probably have to dodge some patches
