  1. If they were going for smoke and boomer for openening day i would imagine that they would have been making snow on those trails last week. The only snow that exists on the mountain(minus that little squal we just had) is located on mainline and bunny. I'm only looking for bunny to be open anyway

    New Stuff

Rome agent 152 Agency tro it bindings burton vent pants bad lieutenant for those days in the park season pass hopefully soon
  3. interesting...they usually open with mainline not highball...you get confused or are they switching things up this year?
  4. ah boo...thanks for the update. That is some good news though, is that all it says about the park?
  5. sidenote but didn't want to open a new thread, is montage's site working for you guys? It doesn't seem to want to load for me...hopefully they are making a new site and it isn't just my computer
  6. no...but we did get a sweet deal on a hotel room from two drunk guys that were stumbling out of the room and said they weren't using it anymore. $20 for the night and next day haha
  7. A friend and I went to Ocean City over the summer, one day when we were at the beach we made an arial view model of montage in/using the sand. Parking lot, lodge, and all. We made sure to put the website and city down also
  8. yeah i was just 'winging' it with the trails next to fastrack, i haven't been any farther to the left than about 75 yards into the woods...so i was kind of just making my fantasy for that. A couple friends and i were taking a look around the area next to easy street, if that was the area you were talking about, we encountered the same thing. Lots and lots of rocks...and a stream But the path that goes down to the amphitheater from the bottom of shuttle would make for a nice little lit up scenic(sp?) ride down to a loading area for a new lift to service the right side. But, it would interfere with the concerts in the summer time... haha, if only.
  9. Here is my go at what montage should look like. If i remember correcty, to the right of easy street looks like this: SV The S being easy street and the V being a valley, so if i am right ( which i am not saying i am) i don't think any trails would be able to connect back to easy street from the right side. The dots are glades( yeah i know, but this is pretty much a dream anyway right? ) and I took out long haul and replaced it with a high speed quad, located near pheobe so you can take one quick lift rid from northface to the top. I forgot to add one or two connecting trails from easy street to the "new peak" and i already uploaded the pic, so just imagine them. Next to the new lift on the left, i didn't go any lower with the trails because i think that slants off in the wrong direction to be able to get the new trails to the loading area of the lifts, same with not going any further to the left, i think that is where the land starts to slope away.
  10. My first time dealing with a gondola (stowe) i didn't see to have any trouble at all. With the lines, you have plenty of time to watch people in front of you get on and learn from it. However, the first time i was on a high speed lift, i almost shat myself thinking i would have unload going that fast . Stupid noob haha.
  11. haha true...but i was just using that as a little scale. Just have yourself a picnic at the bottom of the steps leading to the lodge at montage and you will have yourself some nice chuckles. Skiers really should learn how to take on steps
  12. It isn't too flat...if you took a spill you could still get up and get back up to speed. But, most of your speed comes from the headwall uphill from where the picture was taken.
  13. Long haul is a pointless lift...mainly because they never have it running. That lift is hell on a cold day. I also like taking fastrack runs when it isn't running, completely empty. A lift from the bottom of pheobe to the top of whistler would interfere with iron horse wouldn't it? That would be an ideal place for a lift though... As for expansion, i'm pretty sure that i have heard that there are plans somewhere already drawn up for more trails off to the left of fastrack. Maybe in the first aid building? I'm not saying that there is plans for this to happen...more of a wish list i suppose. A run under pheobe would be awesome...all those little rock drops ending with that last cliff at the bottom. I don't think crowding would be a problem with two lifts at the bottom of north face, everyone that wants to get on iron horse uses the quad anyway. With two lifts i can only imagine that it would help by deviding the pheobe line into two different lifts.
  14. Montage didn't even hit 100% the entire season last year. I wouldn't hold your breath for x-mas.

    magna traction

Check out the ski corner in dickson city, they have them for sale and one of the guys from the shop rides one. Just ask to talk to him. But from what he told me, it's a good board.
  16. i guess for me it depends on how much i am into the band if i support them with my money... Back in april i went to see the AAR/armor for sleep/hellogoodbye show. After i saw armor for sleep live i went out the next day and bought both of their cd's because i felt a bit guilty having pirated songs and liking them so much.

I dont know about you skiers...but personally, as a boarder i find white much easier with bumps on it. Mainly because when there isn't bumps you have to rip down it due to the poor conditions. At one point last year i tried carving and my edges were so dull it was doing me no good so i just went straight down ( not from the top ) but that dip at the bottom was killer, it popped me back into a manual with the nose over my head...i don't know how i didn't eat it on that.
  18. I'm with you on those choices...but i can't stand to listen to rap. The ataris, Motion City Soundtrack, Armor for Sleep, Senses Fail are just a couple on my mp3 player. Going to see the all american rejects tonight in philly actually.
  19. Do you mean for returning pass holders? If so unfortunately it won't help me out. I can't imagine the opening time of 12 to be a reak selling point for passes... Hopefully what you heard about the park is true, i can't wait.
  20. alright cool, i'm just hoping for a rainbow. rail or box doesn't matter to me. A flat down would also be nice for the top of the park where the first pitch is right after the entrance...but i'm not holding my breath. It would be awesome if they had the same setup on switch with the jumps a little smaller, and then on whistler have a more advanced park with new rails and boxes...i would love to see the entire upper and lower fastrack as a park, but it is just too nice of a cruiser. Nobody ever goes onto it, especially when long haul isn't turning, nobody wants to hike to upper.
  21. some pennywise, greenday , and goldfinger. Although it's mainly just for the lift rides back up...never hear the music while taking my runs.
  22. Did you try to get the discount on the pass or shall we give up any hope on that?
  23. any luck in finding out anything about the park?

    New rails

well if we were on that topic then you would have an argument... I could also switch to the lift situation...2 express quads vs 1 quad that tends to break down and make you hike back up a hill. Both have their high and low points...but when it comes down to it i would have to say camelback>montage.
  25. did anyone catch the "winter outlook" on news 22 (i think) yesterday? I didn't get a chance to see it but two nights ago they asked the wheather guy for a hint, and he said for this winter: " close to last year"
