Well Ski, i think you'd be really surprised if you heard some of the things about that place... Completely aside from that, If i were a passholder i'd be worried about the shape of that mountain. I'm thinking they will be among the last to open in this area, but that's all just guessing. If they really get their asses in gear maybe they have a shot at an early December opening. But i'm certainly not holding my breath. If they run into more of their "snags" again this year and don't open until weeks after other areas are you going to stick by them again next year Ski? I'm not saying that they haven't hit any unexpected "snags" along the way, but what i am saying is that they should have started preparing for the ski season far before this. So that when they do run into a problem they have the time to deal with it, rather than pushing back the opening date once, twice, three times.

If Sno opened now they would have about 15 lawsuits from people falling into the lazy river, 10 lawsuits from people getting hurt trying to jib the various bulldozers, and 5 lawsuits from people falling in giant holes here and there. It seems as though they always wait until the last minute, for everything. They make it the plan to wait until the last minute to get things ready, then something unexpected happens and there we are sitting on our asses again until the middle of January.

near the bunny, near highball/mainline, near the entrance to cannonball at the bottom of the bunny...the park was bad as it was last year on most days, if they took out anymore it's not going to be very manageable.

Maybe more-so blown over than over the top. They are taking down trees like they are out of style up there. They need to take a page out of elks book and start planting trees, not cutting them down.
-
Where at? and what kind of jeep you have....
-
Does that mean the pipe is going to be in front of the lodge some place on the bottom of mainline, or still planned to be over where snowtubing is? Any word on park passes for the parks/pipes this year?

Thanks for the quick response. Anything else you can fill us in about? How about new lighting..is that anywhere in the near future? Any other pictures you can upload of the new park features would be much appreciated. ps: thanks for the link too..you should try getting that put into the website(snomtn.com) if it isn't already. Also in the picture on the bottom right of the east coast site..the box on the top, is that a double C-box or just two seperate boxes crammed together? ?

ahh the insider... How about filling us in on some other things? -What part of the mountain is in the video on the website? (edit: the video of the trees being removed) -Is the website wrong in stating that there will be a magic carpet for the pipe this year? -Is the website also wrong in stating that there will be a 22 foot pipe this year? -Any pictures of that new Zaugg? -Will any new trails to the skiers right of Fasttrack be open "sometime in 2008"?

Mountain opens at noon on the weekdays...3pm when there is 3+ inches of new snow.

There's way too many dark spots for them to just switch out the bulbs. Plus they are supposed to be putting in automated ones, so someone doesn't have to ride around and turn on all the switches. I can do without the lift this year, but i want that place to be glowing like the house in "National lampoons christmas vacation"

Sno Improvements You Would Like to See for 07/08

Probably not the best of ideas ski, i'm pretty sure security up there this year are like hound dogs. I already know of one person that tried and was unsuccessful at it. Your best bet would probably be to have someone drop you off over at the top of phoebe and come back to pick you up when you are done, if security isn't sitting in the parking lot. Boomer is where all the good stuff is at anyway

Ski, the mountain isn't opening until 5pm on Friday.
-
from the website: Notice: All trails and lifts are closed until Friday, March 30 at 5pm and will remain open until Sunday Evening, weather permitting.

Was that you at the jeep next to the wooden fence around 4ish today? I didn't see the orange helmet so i wasn't sure..Anyway i was riding from around 12-4 and the snow was annoying as anything. My base is about 75% black now from the dirt in the snow and couldn't get much speed for the stuff in the park.

I agree with schif, i like it the way it is. You can get on phoebe and almost guarantee that you will have a non-stop ride to the top. If beginners start funneling their way down into the hole that lift will most likely stop much more frequently.

30 foot flat box (wide). As already stated, it needs some sort of flow to it. I say cut one of the new trails with the park in mind and have a top to bottom expert terrain park serviced by the highspeed quad. It's far away from the beginner trails in front of the lodge and would cut down on them using it just with its location, nevermind park passes.
