Put up that Saran Wrap insulation stuff. It works and you think your still buzzed when look through the window

Hope that little birdie is right! Weather weinies on the accuweather forums are starting to track something in the jan 15-16 timeframe.

Looks like LV may not thaw until Saturday so u may wish to be more proactive. I'm lame and used a hair drier; better ways for sure. Find out which and be prepared to crawl. Good luck!

Mine did this past Saturday. Had to rip out the side access wall that was finished to put a blow drier on it. Turned out the insulation fell off. All this after a fun day at Blue. Left the taps dripping/running today

NOAA only goes out to Monday with no mention of another freeze. This based on teleconnections?

except for the 0 viz on the top half of the mountain, but yeah, not so bad. Did 8:30 -noon today. Fog on the roads suxed bigtime, Just missed a three-way accident on the intersection of 248 and 946 on the way home. Do they make snow over Christmas? (I know they r closed). Got good nighttime temps

I'm guesing they seeded one side of the trail. If that is the case then we better keep looking left cause the non-bumpers will be coming down even faster on the scrapped ice since the trail will loose cover quicker. Regardless, love having bumps on chute

Greg Straub at the clinic mentioned they were trying to get bumps on chute. Looks like they succeeded! I was looking at the webcams today and salivating at work. congrats on geting it!

Sib, whats the crowd like on prez weekend? Thinking of bringing my boys out there next year and with the school schedule... Seems like your mountain might be the eastern equivalent to Burke for crowds during blackout dates (Been many moons since I passed through whitefish) TIA

Really cool info. Looking forward to a fun february

tarpon + fly rod = big $hit eating grin tampon = not so much (glad to make ya laugh) 6 dudes, 2 instructers, pretty good ratio. ya mon on the spring bumps this weekend

Greg and Glen did a super job. Already helped me with my pole plants and arm form that has me skiing with a quieter upper body (at least when I execute). Good combination of in-the-bumps work and drills. This bump-tard is a happy camper. Looks like spring bumps this weekend...

email from Greg recieved last night: Happy New Year and welcome to the 2013 Blue Mountain Mogul Program. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Greg Straub and I am the mogul coordinator here at Blue. We have an exciting and informative program this year and are looking forward to getting started this weekend. The program starts this Sunday January 6th. We will be meeting in front of the Learning Center at the bottom of School Hill at 9:45am for the Intro to bumps and at 12:45pm for the Advanced group. I will give a quick overview of the program and introduce the coaches. We will have a discussion on safety issues and any equipment questions that you may have. We will be evaluating each skier on the first day and setting more personal goals for each within the group frame work. Most of the time we will be skiing together as a group but may split into 2 groups for more focused training as necessary. Please make sure that you are on time and the skiers are dressed with boots on and ready to go. Also please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. If at any time during the season you need to miss a day please let me know. I look forward to meeting everyone on Sunday. Sincerely Greg Straub

ya man! now thats getting the job done, thx!

inro is for "honest to God never skied a bump before" crew. Take the advanced. Whole range of abilities will be there. Trust me, I'll be the worst by far

These classes have been going on for at least the last 5 years (as long as I have been at Blue). My sons and I are relatively new skiers so we took the intro to bumps class years ago. Tim was the instructor then and very good teacher (he was a judge at the bumps comp the last two years). Last year, a new instuctor - Greg - took over. Don't know his last name. (edit: straub - just read your post Mike, thx!) I chatted with Greg a few times on barneys last year, nice guy and great bumper. Been meaning to sign up for the advanced clinic for the last two years but with traveling/other $hit always got in the way. Anyhow, this year since I am skipping the race clinic anyway I decided to sign up for the advanced bumps.(missed the ealy bird special by a week...). From what I have observed Greg will assess the skills you bring to the table and offer tips/corrections. Again this is just from casual observation waiting my turn to drop into barneys. Looking forward to it! Regarding timimg - nice QC Blue (not!). I suspect the classes will be Saturdays but when I called the ski school, the girl could not confirm. I got a call into the person (at least they told me it was) organizing these clinics - Tina Buckley x-1224. If I hear back from her before the weekend I'll let you know whats up. I plan on being there both Sat and Sun anyway, but it would be nice to know beforehand.
