Blue season pass for boys and me. Some northern Vt trips with them as well. Would also like to get them to Elk once. I will get the Big Lift card for hunter as I ended up going about 6x there last year. Doing a week out at Alta/Snowbird with the ski club in March (psyched!)

Smallish class this year too (~ dozen folks). Mbike-ski hit it with the skill level of the folks there (the good, bad and the ugly). Three instructors so plenty of feedback available and plenty of gate time. razor back is a great course. Only one week in and 5 more sessions to go.

Nice read from OP. Those skinny sticks show how crappy a skier I am... (I'm a Tuesday night clinic dude. FWIW, I got into it from Mbike-ski post on alpinezone two years ago)

On Monday AM, the bridge was still open. On the PM trip back it was closed so I just did the Biegley Rd over to Hoch rd which is pretty darn short (less then 1 mile???) but downside is Biegley Rd is gravel for about 1/3 mile. Decent road but gravel all the same.

For shits and giggles today, made the right onto Hoch Rd right before the bridge . Then a left after ~ 1/2m onto some small road that went by a farm then some new housing and another left onto Scenic Dr (?) and back onto Rt946. Odometer reads 1.8 m for the total detour. Probably the way they will set up the detour signs anyway but wanted to do a dry run before Tuesday night.

What is Blue's usual MO? Will they blow snow Christmas eve night and Christmas day/night? This weather since Wednesday sucks.

They need ~three days to get Hellgate open from top to bottom. If they start Tuesday (6th) and the work they do Friday (3rd) holds up, then Thursday is a real possibility. They got enough guns to create their own weather system...

From Hunter's website just updated today: Finally some snowmaking weather is in sight! Our snowmaking crew is in place and waiting for the temperature to drop a bit more. We'll be firing up the guns for summit snowmaking later this afternoon, with a possibility of making snow on top through the day on Friday. Friday night looks like the best night before a slight warm-up over the weekend. We will NOT be opening this weekend, but we'll at least get some base down on the upper part of the mountain. Next snowmaking opportunity after the weekend looks like Tuesday or Wednesday.

With regard to bumps, Blue has stepped it up considerably due to the local bumpers being so proactive. (Disclaimer: I suck at bumps but that does not stop me from trying... and again and again...) Not a lot of experience here but when I went to CB last year they were not even close to what Blue offers. Edit: If they got rid of last years NASTAR course (and move it back to raceway) it will be nice not having to ski around the monstrous February 6-pac lines to get to the VIP on the 4-pac

Let it go. I was jus bummin from the rain and relatively warm daytime temps. Couple days ago the long range looked meh too. Thanks for the update though. Hopefully I can make it up for a few hours Saturday AM too.

Blue has not blown snow in ~ 6days. The auger bit was hitting dirt last night when setting up gates on racers. Warm weather predicted to stay around into early next week. If we don't get a good cold pattern again soon me thinks some trails will be closing soon....

Yeah, same here. Your a damm good skier Root. The snow was interesting for sure. Slurpee is a pretty good description. Unfortunately, can't make it Saturday but will be up Sunday.

I got a Sam Adams bottlle opener (read with your best Charlie Brown "I got a rock" Holloween voice). VIP line today made this day pretty ok considering. Afternoon soft snow went a long way in helping. Was at bar at 4PM for Sam Adams auction of volkl ski. First person not there so he lost out. Second person was there so we all lost out.
