  1. Looks like they were able to put more down at the base, so I'm going with @JFskiDan's hope that they were able to put more effort into Paradise and maybe Coming Soon. Wish they would point the Valley cam back up Homestretch instead of showing the lift lines. (hint, hint).
  2. Hang on! We are talking about Blue Mountain here...
  3. I've had a couple VERY close calls on the slopes. One night riding up the doubles at Blue, before there was a valley. Started kicking in standing in line waiting... On the way up, the levels started building, probably because I was sitting and every rumble across the towers made it worse. Then the worst, it stopped just over Come Around! After what felt like an eternity, it started moving again. Flying down Easy Out trying to hold back the turtle is not something you want to be doing. Not many know about the bathrooms that used to be down by Ski Wees, but they were always open but the race down the stairs was always fraught with danger. Luckily I made it with less than a second to spare. Then there was the time up at Killington, taking the never-ending green from the top down to the Skyship, holding one back the entire way down. Luckily the Skyship lodge was still open, or that would have been an outdoor for sure. I hate my bowels!
  4. Went striper fishing out of Belmar once and the coffee kicked in shortly after departure on the way out in semi-rough seas. There was no way that was gonna be held back for 5 or so hours. Luckily the boat had a "toilet" (a broom closet with a 5 gallon bucket and a toilet seat to place on top and sit) Better than sticking your ass out the back of the boat and launching that way, but riding the surf and shitting at the same time was a never forget experience! After that, having to hit the head at Home Depot or Sam's club feels like sitting on a true throne.
  5. Oh yeah! Out drinking one night, wasn’t my turn to drive, one started just after leaving bar, of course I was last to be dropped off at home. Struggling to keep turtle in its shell the entire ride. Got back home to my parents house and there was NO time to wait. Headed to the back corner of the yard behind a bush and let loose. No greasy old napkin. Had to do a waddle of shame straight to the shower.
  6. So do I! I need a pair of gaiters too!
  7. Hate when that happens! Haven't had a Level 5 while driving somewhere lately, overdue.
  8. As I read that, I was expecting "without catching a venereal disease", but then it took a weird turn.
  9. Unfortunately all for naught, if the weather (and PPL) don't cooperate.
  10. Those clear and cold nights (Wed, Thu, Fri) look promising. Monday night looks humid. Tuesday transitional, might get some production.
  11. Took a walk out earlier with the wife, smelled and felt (damp) like snow, but haven't gotten squat.
  12. Will Sidewinder be open?
  13. I wanna hit whatever they were smokin', sitting around the office thinking they were gonna open up Black Friday!
  14. I hear ya! They cater to the greater numbers to make the most happy. Unfortunately, if you're on a branch with only a few customers, they'll let you flail in the wind. Being in that situation would drastically effect my decision to purchase a generator.
  15. We're in the exact same boat... Power routes up a road that's the gauntlet of ash trees. We have them falling all around us. Neighbors took down a dozen or so when they put in their pool, so I had the guys come over and drop a couple that were doomed to fall on the shed. If nothing else, they make for good firewood for the pit and exercise chopping it. After Sandy, PPL had people come out and trim back a ton of branches and trees near the lines which has helped a lot with the outages, so it's hard to justify spending the $ on a generator. Also, since the way the power is routed, it usually knocks out a few hundred people all at once, so PPL is pretty good at getting out to restore it. Talking to the guys one time, they said they keep some trucks at a nearby substation all the time just for the immediate area.
  16. Have a grate trip!
  17. Ugh, yeah. When we moved in, power would go if someone sneezed in the wrong direction, but just couldn't bring my self to spend the money on a generator. We have propane, but only 2 small tanks instead of one of the buried big ones, so running out is an issue too. Sandy was the big problem, having power out for a few days which meant no water. Not something many think about, but not having power is a big issue when you're dependent upon a well for water. I now keep a few of the plastic 5 gallon drinking water jugs in the basement, just in case. They sell battery operated pumps you can just put into the jug. Also fill up buckets and keep them in the bathtub before a wind storm is forecast for "flushing" the toilets. They also sell bathtub liners that you put into the tub and fill up to keep water for an emergency, if you have an extra tub. Hopefully you just have a gravity septic, as having a dosing tank is yet another set of issues when you don't have power.
  18. Got my rock skis at the ready!
  19. Yeah, wish they'd point the valley cam back up the mountain. WTF cares what the lift lines look like?
  20. Ugh! Power outage and well pump aren't a good mix. Do you have a generator big enough to run the well pump? If no, might consider one. However, the other problem is fueling it. Do you have propane?
  21. Looks to me it's more like just gun got started... Maybe they'll open up a uphill on Home Stretch?
  22. Yeah, with the e-mail and YT video, they seem pretty confident in their snowmaking capabilities, that or they're smoking some goooood shit up there and need to pass it along! It is impressive they're so open with all the new snowmaking equipment and systems on the various social media sites, way more than with prior management. Perhaps someone's finally listening to the masses!?!? Next week's gonna be interesting for sure!
  23. I have a lifetime membership card to The Body Shop in San Diego from back in the 90's. We used to go out drinking at Stahley's and then hit the midnight Rocky Horror movie to watch the dressed up players dance in the isles.
  24. Rain, clouds, more clouds, showers are all a recipe for high humidity levels, regardless of those temps. No chance in Hell, unless they're gonna open for fast-grass. But I'm willing to break out the rock skis for some fast-grass! Need some clear, crisp, cold nights and no clouds to trap the moisture.
