  1. We ran the 6-pack line last year after a bit of snow late last year, but they didn't have the new bike path on it yet. The bases of my TigerSnakes have the gouges to prove it. The only technical thing about it was avoiding the tiny little trees that grabbed your skis and trying to avoid the rocks.
  2. Well, there is the Blue employee parking lot across Mountain Drive were people park their RVs on occasion.
  3. Agree, all the runs were in excellent condition, just set an edge and forget it. I liked NM/DW the best today as you could carry the speed through the top two turns all the way down. No real need to bleed off any speed. Unfortunately all the edges were gouged by the groomers and the lack of crowds kept the ridge mostly unskiable.
  4. I had 4 upper and lower, but I wish I need to look for a puffy down upper, as just the fleece jacket liner wasn't nearly enough for this cold.
  5. Happy 2018, starting out nice and cold!
  6. Almost -1 here at the homestead. Gonna be a wicked cold one today! Need another layer.
  7. Catching up after stuffing myself with salmon and beer. Kinda disappointed that there's no multi-page Cameltoe TR for today, then again, perhaps not.
  8. I've got two different ski pants, need a tracker for them too!
  9. Bugged out at 3:15, with temp in the Valley at a balmy 10'. Crowds had begun to diminish around 1:30pm, so it was more/less ski right onto the detachables. Happy New Year everyone!
  10. I'll be up for open.
  11. I never knew this! I always stay at the back of the group I'm with as I know the twin-tips kick up a giant rooster-tail of snow, ice, marbles, etc. which tends to annoy the hell out of people behind me. However, it does come in handy to keep others from following too closely behind.
  12. And the old haunted house on the top of the hill in the distance.
  13. At least they got the liftlines sorted out yesterday, as they had separate lines in the quad and 6 for the various groups (singles, doubles, VIP, etc.). Hardly had a wait at all despite the crowds being at/beyond the ticket readers. Now only if some of the good attendants would train the not so good ones to leave the staging area mostly empty, they'd have a smooth system and I wouldn't need to ask for a refund. Excellent day at Blue, excellent conditions, tons of fun to be had on all the runs.
  14. Might have to blast them on FB about it if it persists, at least I hear they read those posts.
  15. I didn't arrive until noon (dentist appointment) and the place was packed. They've got new attendants running the 6-pack lines who keep shoving groups of 6 to the lift way too fast which causes people to lose their mentality and forget how to count to 6. Of course, then there's chairs going up with just 2 or 3 people on them. How many years have they been doing this? The quad is even worse this year, as they don't have the single, double, triple, quad lines and the attendant was standing almost at the lift and doing absolutely nothing but asking how many in the group. Both doubles had lines as well. I bailed after 10 runs. I hate getting to Blue late.
  16. This thread is epic!
  17. He was up on Black Friday, I talked to him in the upper lot. Marty's always looking for a deal from the mountain to get a pass. Rumor he was gonna help with bump clinic and get a pass through that, but haven't seen/heard anything more. Or it could be not enough people dropping not enough money from the lifts last season to afford this year's pass?
  18. Main street still had the best snow yesterday, unfortunately the groomers obliterated the spines and created a ton of snow boulders. Outside of Midway had some pretty good snow from prior day's blowing. When I left around 2pm due to frozen toes (WJW was it cold today), the 6 pack lines were full and people waiting outside the gates. The quad was much better. Loser lifts even had lines. There were a few people at the BBQ truck waiting in line, but the other truck was vacant.
  19. Sounds like someone else we know, the person who should be sponsored by Blue.
  20. Should have got the 177s. I hear Camelback is a great place to get a season pass!
  21. Stowe and Jay are in a dead heat IMHO.
  22. I did see some people buying food from the BBQ, but I didn't look at the Stuffed to the Gills truck.
  23. This thread was epic!
  24. We saw all the footprints in the snow right up there and thought someone poached the area, but when we looked at it more, we could see the toboggan tracks going down and all the footprints in the area.
