  1. Came across this article other day. “You don’t wait for a good day to go skiing. You make the best day possible out of it. There’s a ‘roll up your sleeves and get it done attitude’ in general.” —Jason Levinthal https://www.powder.com/stories/wicked-pissah/a-skier-goes-east/?utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_content=5a39e04c04d3013907847421&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook And one for Salty, almost what GSS said. "That’s a big reason many of us love it—it asks something of you, pushes you out of your comfort zone, and makes you feel accomplished when you succeed."
  2. That's crazy! Can't that be considered entrapment?
  3. Did you get the $1 that was under the 6 the other day about 2 supports up from the base? Tarpon kept eyeing it up.
  4. Tarpon just had one of his sets tuned. Not sure when he dropped them off.
  5. Thanks! I learned from the best. Yup. Use it or lose it. Welcome them to the Ice Coast!
  6. Just got back from a not real fun morning session at Blue. Cresting the ridge, the temp was 39' and 37' as I rolled into the lot around 8:15am with nobody else in sight. Walking out to the lift, the slow, wet snow of yesterday had set up hard, even though the temps aren't that cold. As I rode up the 6, a boarder patroller was coming down Challenge and I could hear the expected conditions. I took a run down Paradise, which had very hard cord but also a tilled area chock full of marbles. It was either fight through them or slide on the ice Next run down Lazy was pretty much identical to Paradise. Over on Main, the bumps were icebergs, so I didn't even bother venturing into them. The main section of Main street was total frozen cord. Challenge was also icy hard and rocket fast. That girl from yesterday would have easily broke her speed goal today. I was looking out for Mom and SallyCat all morning, but I didn't see either before bugging out around 11am. Unless you like ice skating, today was a far cry from the past two. Hopefully it's cold enough tonight and tomorrow for them to blow some snow. Also, at the base, it sure smelled like the BBQ truck was cooking up some meat as the aroma was wafting past much like when the Waffle Hut is going.
  7. I always found Dollar General stores interesting to look through. The wife, on the other hand, refuses to go into them.

Some spots are coming out at Blue too.
  9. Is that a Dollar General frame?
  10. Looks like they added another food truck.
  11. I'm back from another fun day at Blue the true mountain. Arrived in the lower lot around 8:15am and a 34' temperature under mostly cloudy skies. It was spritzing most of the ride up, but nothing worth putting on the wipers. Nobody else was in the house as of yet, but waved to Rodney as he turned the corner. First run down Paradise was super-fast snow, due to the temps being just low enough for the snow to set up. The place was virtually empty at this point and we had the run to ourselves. Next run was down Lazy, which was also fast, but noticed a number of skid marks appearing at various points along the trail. Went over Falls, but the lip just isn't there to catch any air. Went over to Main Street to check out the bumps which were left as-is from yesterday. Made the rest of the run down the other side, which was super-fast and very smooth. Made a run down Challenge which was more of the same, soft and fast. There were some grooming ruts that had to be avoided on the second half, but overall was very smooth. Even running Challenge fast, the Falls lip just isn't there and with a slight Northwest wind, I still couldn't get any air. Tarponhead arrived and we repeated the above a few times as the cloud cover kept temps lower than expected. We broke for some lunch around 12ish and shortly thereafter the sun started coming out and temps began to rise, so we made our way over to the bumps. By this time, the bumps softened up enough to make them quite enjoyable and we lapped them a number of times. Unfortunately the sun sets pretty quick and both lines disappear into the shade within a run, so we finished with a couple more laps and beers in the lot. Just another overall great day of skiing at Blue.
  12. Rumor has it they were even opening up some woods?
  13. Damn! I forgot about the Asian girl. I don't think she moved 10' from where we saw her the first pass until the 3rd. Yeah, the BBQ truck MILF was a sight to see. I don't know where she disappeared to. Might have been driving the pickup truck around.

    Pick me a ski

    Me too! Oh wait...
  15. Or the time you overslept and missed your flight out?
  16. Started out quite firm, but about 10:30 or so, the fog lifted, the sun started getting stronger and the temps started to rise and they turned superb. Snow in between the bumps was edgeable and the bumps were soft. When we were in the parking lot, the shadows were starting to cover them. Good time to depart.

  18. Luckily I was wearing my black pants!
  19. I was, but moved out to the side to take a picture of the throne all to myself!
  20. I didn't see you there?
  21. Freaking awesome snow right now, but I gotta bolt and get shit done. Leaving the goods for Tarpon! Looks like Blue got wind of Enjorales' meat, so they're bringing in competition! Step it up Enjorales!
  22. I'm still here on a downright foggy morning. Drive up, visibility was like pea soup, but just as I crested the mountain, visibility got much better. Temp in the lot was 34 and the groomers were out in force, working on the big well at the top of Central Park and on the learning center hill. I. The house was Me, but Rodney rolled in as I was heading to the lifts and Tarpon is due any minute now. First run was down Paradise to loosen up after a long day yesterday. Snow is almost hero, due to the temps and absolutely carveable. Had the run to myself. Next ride up the 6, the cloud layer began to drop and the top shack was socked in. About halfway down Tut's, visibility cleared and went down Lazy. Snow was as good or a bit better than Paradise. They had a groomer out and the intersection with Sidewinder, I think they were fixing light bulbs. Took a run down Challenge, which was a tad bit better than yesterday because of the temps, so you could at least get a bit of a carve going. Snow on the second drop was far better than the 1st headwall. Clouds layer is still dropping. Made my way over to Main to check out the bumps. They did nothing to them, as expected. However they're a bit better than yesterday as the snow is a bit softer. Unfortunately the entire top section is socked in. The lower half of Main is beautiful. Took a run down Come Around and Midway. They opened up the connector from Mideay to Burma, but I didn't bother with it. Booting up... I'm a winner!!
