  1. How do you remember all that???
  2. Unfortunately no, except for a handful of us...
  3. Blue could have made may had they blown through all the frigid nights... Ray would have!
  4. 21. Guys in college said we're going up to Little Gap to ski/drink, come on along...
  5. I'm not complaining!! However, I'll believe it when I see/feel it...
  6. It's a skinny run, so you're constantly avoiding ice patches as well as other beginners. Burma used to have a pretty steep drop before they rerouted it to what it is now. I believe It used to go through what is now the terrain park. It was quite an experience for beginner skiers, including myself eons ago...
  7. Yes, but that's explorers and I don't believe they let anyone but those taking lessons into the area for security reasons. If you're not taking a lesson or you're an adult, they send you over to the school hill behind the ski patrol shack.
  8. If he's skied Taos, Paradise should be a cake-walk, especially for a boy.
  9. Has he ever skied/boarded before? If not, park in the valley and head over to the learning hill to the right of the six pack, behind the ski patrol shack. If so, lap Paradise until he's comfortable/bored.
  10. Bummer that they're calling for r**n on Saturday...
  11. 6-pack lines where all back to the end of the snow, which was a MAJOR hassle due to the event. Quad lines were looping back up home stretch. Had to either fight through or skate uphill a bit to go around to get to VIP line. Both were as long as I ever saw them all the way until around 4pm, when they finally started to subside. At least I got to have my annual waffle with chocolate this weekend!
  12. Finally the temps came up and the sun came out and along with it came the hero snow. Skied so many bump runs I can hardly walk this morning... Spectacular early spring conditions. Couldn't believe the crowds still around at 4pm! Thank you Blue for the VIP lines!
  13. Wow, it sure didn't take long for everything to turn to shit today. Challenge was definitely the worst. Loss of Danny the groomer showed today with a crappy job on Challenge with what appeared to be a huge gap in grooming lanes, not to mention some ski patrollers taking up the entire width of the run! All the bumps were like icebergs, no fun there. Practically everything was skied off pretty quickly and without a lot of depth to the top, there wasn't much along the sides to ski. Thought it was going to warm up during the day, but the clouds definitely help keep the temps down and it felt as though the temps dropped during the day. ROTD was definitely Razors, unfortunately it didn't happen until about 3:30pm. Since nobody had been on it all day, save the racers down the middle, the sides were in excellent shape and some very high speed runs were had. Still loving those rollers!
  14. I too like driving to the mountain when it's dark. However, I don't particularly like the flat light in the early afternoon that early winter brings. Prefer the runs to be brightly lit with nice, high sunlight.
  15. Doesn't bother me, I set the clocks ahead before I go to sleep...
  16. Snowboarder Dies in Utah Avalanche Be careful out there! http://www.outsideonline.com/news-from-the-field/Snowboarder-Dies-in-Utah-Avalanche-.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=facebookpost
  17. Sure about that? Sunrise lately has been around 6:30am. Sunday that will be 7:30am...
  18. I just take the crowds in stride, that and the VIP line at the quad pretty much always moves quick... Love spring skiing, especially the bumps!
  19. As the temps dropped yesterday, the frozen grooming layer was coming up through what was left of the powder. Hopefully the temps will soften that up... Another thing that may bring out more on Sunday is Daylight Savings Time Begins...
  20. I agree With the new snow and the warming temps, I think it's gonna bring out the hoards.
  21. I've not heard any patroller do that either. No, not busy at all. Seemed like more people leaving than arriving.
  22. I hate that I couldn't make open... Forgot to mention we saw a kid who apparently fell off the doubles... Part way up the first section in the woods, next thing we see is kid lying in the lift-line. Estimated 8-10' drop. Questioned whether he fell off or jumped, but from the rental skis, snowplow out, we don't believe he had the cojones to jump. Bar down please...
  23. I got up there late, had to get stuff done at work beforehand. On the south side of the mountain it was dumping, but as we crested the top, I could see the change in density and knew it was almost over. By the time I got on the slopes, snow was all but done. Found some stashes around but pretty much everything was tracked out. Did a few bike trails that were ok, but had to watch for the crust layer from the rain they must have got. Only mogul run that wasn't any good was Challenge, all the rest had some nice fluff in them. Pretty much a waste of a storm for Blue again, as the South and East got the best of it.
