  1. We were talking about other, bigger mountains bringing in outside help too. I don't see it happening at Blue either as it's not some spectacular ski destination and pay doesn't justify working there either. They had trouble staffing as well, as the doubles rarely ran together all the time even when lines were long. Seems as though they never had 2 people in the top shack to watch both landings. Getting the stimulus money also didn't help their staffing issues either.
  2. Really should be someone from the lift company to check out the failure. Was it just a bad cast of a part which would make the odds of the same thing happening on another chair/lift unlikely or was it some other type of issue with the lift tower rollers or something. Far too many variables for speculation. Lift manufacturers know it best and should be brought on site to check it out first.
  3. Yes, and I imagine employees would NOT be happy about it regarding loss of seniority, drop in pay scale, loss of vacation time (if they have any at all), Blue bucks, etc. I doubt the new company would bridge anything, as they probably believe they can just find someone to replace them.
  4. Or the bar!
  5. What are we, in the cavalry?
  6. #Bros4Lyfe
  7. Although I've heard rumors that that's what's going to happen, unfortunately for them.
  8. Good to hear from you @SallyCat!
  9. Yeah, TONS of very reliable sourced rumors whirling around this weekend makes it sound like a deal is very close, like they're in the cooling off period before final signatures.
  10. Spectacular day at Blue, capped by another grate PASR season-ending party. Really hard to get around to everything and everyone on days like that. @enjoralasmeat was on point as always. Thanks again! ROTD was definitely the bumps on Challenge.
  11. Looks to me like EPR would be the owner and provide financing. However, the question would then be, who would be the operator of Blue? If you check out https://www.eprkc.com/portfolio/property-map/ They list all the properties EPR owns and who operates each. This coincided with what I heard in that the new owner will just provide the funds. I heard no rumor as to who would operate the mountain. If you look at the list, they seem to have a number of mountains operated by Vail, which is a scary thought... Might get some more poop on it today..
  12. Lots of rumors flying around today that it's a done deal, with Barb holding onto like 10%. Heard that both Camelback and Blue were bought by the same company, which would coincide with EPR. Also heard that hotel is also a go, but conflicting reports as to whether or not it'll be in the valley or up top.
  13. Lots of rumors flying about KSL buying Blue, but doesn't make any sense for them to own both CamelToe AND Blue.
  14. Bethlehem's finest made a mess of the traffic pattern. Geez! Like it's the first time they've done this? Why doesn't Bethlehem do a drive-thru like LVH does at Dorney? They have a ton of parking lot space over at SteelStacks where they could easily do it and not require people to have to park, walk in, line up, etc. Drive up, get shot, leave and be done with it. Yeah I'm sure Bethlehem and Wind Creek have some sort of dealio going on to get people in there to shop, gamble.
  15. Who's Stevie?
  16. Hawaii weather!
  17. Wow! Nothing about Ski-Doo purchasing the resort? Must just be a rumor.
  18. Yeah, probably only had shipping wax on them from the factory, if that.
  19. QFT! I do about the exact same process.
  20. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!
  21. TR 12 hours after vaccination time is expected.
  22. Don't get your hopes up, it was spinning most of the afternoon yesterday. At one point, there was even a rumor that said it was going to be loading at noon which never materialized. Why they can't keep a few bearings on hand is beyond comprehension. They're typical wear items and probably not that expensive.
  23. In-Doo-pendent
  24. Fought through the doubles crowd all day, which as reported, would be long/short depending upon if the lifties decided to work or not. Regardless, once the temps came up and the sun had time to do its job, the snow and bumps turned hero and made for a grate afternoon of skiing. Ended up riding the triple twice to get out of the valley which was proven to be faster than waiting in the quad line. Word is that a bearing is shot in the six and as usual need a part sent in. Also heard that Ski-Doo bought Blue!
  25. Guns ablaze!
