More like dirtbike cross country races!! Blue Mountain is holding a race this year sanctioned by NEOC (north east offroad championship), but Bear made an excuse about noise violations or something. pretty sure they just don't want us to rip up their wedding area. my dirtbike sponsor went last year, and thier tricked out sled which is worth a rediculous amount of money would not be running on 2 inches of snow haha, but most of the people there prob wouldnt care if they were on dirt

i have been lurking hard here the last 19 pages... i think its really odd that bear would already say they are opening on monday, they are only going to lose snow between now and then. I think its a weak ass attempt to cover their ass in the 65 day clause really, i mean E-chair again??? might as well not open until you can open a full run i went last time for E-chair and it was a waste of time. hiking sucks too i dont know what the snows like up on top, but i would ride dirt if i had to...at least we know next week they will get up an running legit, but still the monday opening i feel is a waste, they can blow monday night and hopefully almost all day tuesday so why bother with monday? (or the better question, how are you considering E-chair your opening day?)

I'll be there from 9 till it gets icy, might stay up all day gonna be sick i cant wait to ski, i'll probably be rockin purple pants and a gray jacket
-
yeah as for the commentary on the double C.... i feel we need a legit C box. Camelback has the same "planet" rails we had that we turned into the double C and they had them together for a 40+ foot C which was probably the most fun rail i've hit all year. and now i'm told they have it turned into a 40' S box which i bet is fun too. either way for next year i dont think the superman C box will do haha.
-
i kinda feel like you hit it at a bad day. this past week has been really tough on the slopes, and although we have a lot of snow, it definitely took a hit. I think you should try to come back on a sunny morning after they have blown the night before haha
-
i say bear builds a god damn parking garage where the pavement is now. that way no one has to walk super far, and my car doesnt get dirty in the rocks and shit. then they should make the second floor season pass holders only or something haha. also, they should put a water fountain on the second floor in the lodge. like i know its strategic to get people to buy over-priced drinks, but if you wanna do that then i'll take the elevator down and up and waste your friggin electricity. stick it to the man! (not really...lol)

VAST IMPROVEMENT. it was awesome today, even though black bear has the huge empty spot, which will be taken care of i'm sure, the jump at the top was perfect for trying spins on. the second jump was floaty as hell and tons of fun. the rail garden where the pipe was is EXACTLY what i was hoping for. tons of variety but you can hit everything easily, (skiers) cant nut the 42 ft. roundbar (thanks by the way lol), the boxes are setup nice for spins on/off, the pad to downrail is AWESOME (i just would like to see a longer rail there at some point haha) the stalls were both set up nicely. the tire was better before they ripped it out and switched it though... overall, awesome, cant wait to hit it up tomorrow, this is the type of setup that doesnt get boring very fast!! good job park crew!!

i went to boulder over the weekend and the park they had all the rails in was probably the most fun i've had all year. everything was set up perfect, there was variety all over. they had space inbetween the rails and they were some set up low to the ground so you arent afraid to try stuff, and others were harder which made it fun to step up your tricks. but most of all, they were set up simple, and correctly. some urban, some not, but all of them were completely hit-able at all times. I've personally never seen a park crew fix the lips of the rails so often, it was like every four runs i took they were back out fixing stuff. i just hope bear can throw in a lot of nice, hit-able rails like i know they can. i'll be there tomorrow at two!! see you guys there, hope the setup is sick!

they already started removing the features from cascade in preparation for this cold weather!! I checked the web cam and i saw the bobcat carrying the candycane getting chased down the mountain by the bigger groomer (with its bright lights) hahah it looked pretty funny
-
sounds good mark!!! however, i have a request, everyone who agree's quote me! haha We need a propane tank!!!! like an old one, big metal round one. I've seen them all over the place in vids from other mountains. basically it would slide nice like the candy-cane rail but it would be nice and tall plus easier to spin on. here is a video that has it in, its kindof in the middle of the vid. heres a link http://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/vi...227058/cat/top/ its at 1.35

i'm gonna head up tomorrow to grab my pass and sneak a peak. i'll try to take some pictures as well

whoever said stealth blowing took the words right out of my mouth hahaha. But as for me, i'll see you guys friday, rocking full oakley camo suit as i have last year. my schedule is bear friday, then saturday i'll be at camelback from 10-3. then boulder the rest of the night. and hopefully bear on sunday!!!! haha
-
sounds good andy! i'll see you friday!!! hows the STI running??

Well just looking at my local weather after this storm front goes through tempetures are going to drop. Then i went to accuweather and saw that for the next two weeks lows will be in the 20's and highs in the low 40's. Sounds like winter is finally ariving!!! i wonder who will be the first to open? there was also snow forcasted for next week but i barely trust accuweather with temps let alone predicting snowfall 5 days in advance...
-
So i've been waking up the last few days and seeing that it is below 32 degrees (i didnt look at the humidity but still...) and i was thinking it would be pretty sick if Bear decided to aim a bunch of guns at a spot near the Quad (the original one) and maybe make a small hike park? It wouldnt cost too much money since the lifts wouldnt have to be on...but yeah just throwing that idea out there, i know its still early, hopefully this cold weather is a good sign!!! ps. you can charge admission haha
-
i think people shouldnt have been so stupid to want andy and the park crew to wait to open the expert park. like how dumb of an idea was that, yeah lets wait and just blow as much snow as possible and open it with expert features. to me that sounded like a lot of kids tooting thier "i'm excited pre-season horn" claiming that they are too good for the easy shit. how about next year we say fuck it and put in as much stuff as possible so we arent stuck hitting the same 8 rails 3 weeks into the season. /rant, as for the conditions, total sheet of ice, but temps are gonna drop and should be getting better as christmas break goes on, hope to see you guys there! merry christmas!
-
yeah it is strictly because of storage room. Andy said that he really needs more room for storage of the rails and thats something he will be working on during this year, and for the following year.
-
i'll be there. skis. oakley white camo.
-
wow dorsey, thanks for filling me in so late, i missed all the fun. :
-
fuck i really dont want to have to go to blue this weekend...i might as well go to the closest ice rink. i would probably find better conditions...
-
they are still on dude. haha you got me excited i thought maybe they turned them off at a spot so someone could go push in some rails with the groomer . to be honest, the "kinks". i think its BS. and i dont believe it. what kinks? they are blowing a tremendous amount of snow right now, they have been for 24 hours. lets look and see what the kink is....they have snow....they have people that want to ski...nope cant see anything hahah. unless its some business BS i dont think we have to worry, Bear will make the call, they havent messed up in the past, i have faith
-
i dont see the point in waiting until saturday to open. just for a few more hours of blowing? they have opened with less snow than this before if you look at the opening day video from last year there was grass everywhere and everything was slush and melting. i still say thursday or friday. If they dont post anything by 9 then its deffinately not until friday (or sat.).

aw, thats too bad but i totally understand. noise is probably the biggest issue when racing around home. most of our races now are pretty far away from towns and everything. I think the only reason we raced at jack frost all those years is because no one really lives around there (it was before the condo's at the top...if they ever went threw with making them, cas they had to knock down the practice mx tracks because of it). sorry for the old bump! haha just looking at an old thread
-
for once bear is getting lucky for being south of most mountains hahah (not lucky enough, still getting barely anything. but a 24+ blowing session is reaaal nice =] )
