  1. Pretty much dead on as I checked last night with Patrol & Ops....32 degrees at 213 feet...give or take a few and also add the variables depending on snowfall, grooming, ect Nice to see the support, esp from the Mods. Thanks!
  2. I'll try to find out the "Official" number on that. I do know in the Summer that slope is a sheer cliff/dropoff about midway down in the center and I just hiked down the treeline, skiers left, 2 weeks ago for some pics...it's friggin' steep. Hmmm..sure about LH? It's running, unless it's down for something...give it a bit and check back on it.
  3. ^ Well...I will be on the mountain at 6:30pm to do Tues. night pics..so..if you're still there, look me up..but..I will be on foot.
  4. ^Thanks for all the props guys...just so you know, we ARE Having our $10 Tuesday tomorrow, Feb 21...all day..all tickets, $10..so..tomorrow would be a good day......... Myself personally, I'm quite happy as Social Media Director & photographer to see the change in attitude toward Sno Mountain. All of us have been working, no other way to put this...our asses off...to not only overcome the rotten nonWinter we're having, but at the same time the kick in the groin that toilet paper called a newspaper gave us in October. All the negativity they dumped on us..and continued to do so throughout the season whenever they could get the chance, didn't make our jobs any easier, however we were able to overcome them, and all the other so called "Sno is Doomed" BS..from Long Haul being finished forever, to the mountain closing up..to no electricity...ect, ect..ect. We Win,...and I want to Thank ALL OF YOU, esp those that gave us that second chance to proove it. Please come up, esp this week...tomorrow if you can..and get some time in on Sno Mountain.
  5. ^ Thank You very much....glad you enjoyed it!
  6. Oh well...all of us are guilty of butchering posts up pretty good with the fantastic grammar this area is known to have! Anywayz....lol....Presidents Day Weekend is now here and we're expecting and have already booked quite a crowd. Weather looks good, although that storm to the South of us missing us by a hair stinks,..but, such is the luck of a NE PA Skier this season. We're ready, ALL lifts running..should be at 100% all weekend...park has been rebuilt & I hope all of you have a great weekend.
  7. Nice to hear they had a great time. Lot's going on this weekend with Prez Day and all....the Torchlight Parade and of course the fireworks on Saturday evening. Also gonna have the TV crews out on the mountain Sunday for The Great Outdoors show around 1pm
  8. Thank you! Wish I was able to get more pics Sunday but my back decided not to want to stay at work..but here is what I did get from Saturday: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150667598021138.450943.288781601137&type=1 Along with others...... BTW, anyone see a pic on our FB or web site..and you would like the master copy...just email me at kevin@snomtn.com with the file name and pic number and I'll get it right out to you.....no charge. All I ask is leave the Moose logo on the pic. Also....testing out some new guns...might add a few next year to increase our snow making capacity...have a pic of the new style/model in the link above, and yes, despite the rotten non winter weather we are having...it's been a pretty good year and we're holding our own and I can honestly say we are winning back a lot of customers, and I hear from them daily..and at the mountain face to face, so...if you haven't been up yet, please try, esp this weekend as we have the torchlight parade & fireworks Saturday evening. Oh..forgot to mention..we are in the process of adding and repairing existing lights..so, no..I didn't forget about some of the concerns some have voiced back in October. Workin' on it. Steepest vertical terrain in Pa.
  9. Good topic. I have frequently been in the middle of the the battle at Sno and some have suggested the "Expert only" approach to the park. Let me ask...how does this work at other mountains that do enforce the expert only/no rental equipment in the park when you know damn well you are going to get someone in your face screaming they paid for the ticket so that gives them free reign over what or where they should be able to go? Granted, yes...common sense SHOULD apply, but rarely does it seems. Just some helpful hints guys that would help us out. Actually we really haven't had too much of an issue...most of what we get on FB is usually kids that talk big but do nothing and for the most part scoot out of the way of the bigger stuff. Most of my "Park rats" I now know by name and know their ability, but I have seen some near collisions caused by the "gaper"...or worse....snake, and was just wondering how to impliment some sort of a program mainly for next season to tighten things up a bit. Does the "Class" work and how hard is it to set up a screening area to prevent noobs/rentals from getting into the park. I know, a fence and a patroler/SAT...just wondering if it's a hassle in manning it all weekend...and..is it worth the aggravation?
  10. KCSKI

    Ha! Ha!

^ Well...regardless if Blue does or does not, I still see unlocked equipment at Sno...some people are just too lazy at times, or too much in a hurry to join the friends in the lodge. Anyway....nice to see them get busted.
  11. ^Long Haul will also be open on Thursday as well...and, I think I heard right...it will remain open on these days throughout the rest of the season.
  12. Once again...we managed to get down half a foot of snow overnight last night...if the temps keep this up, at least dropping enough at night, looks like we might get a handle on things a bit and keep ourselves at near 100%...only missing 4 trails to score 100. Considering...that is damned good.
  13. Not really....I would consider it a good call considering conditions and the confusion on the age classes that had everyone upset. Gives him time to re-organize the event and also gives us a window that hopefully we get bombed between now and then with a classic Nor'Easter.
  14. Hit me up...I'l have the camera on....usually do NASTAR at noon and terrain park at 1. This is unofficial...just me remembering the same hype....I recall something said from the Glades down the North side of the mountain and rounding down to where Long Haul loads. I Mt Bike the "Ore Mine Road" on the opposite side of the creek from Phebe a lot and I have been thru the trails on that side of the mountain and yeah...very steep in places and would make for some excellent trails...me being a single track guy would like to see the winding tighter trails...that would be real nice.
  15. Wow....it's nice to see you guys supports us and all we are trying to do here in what is without a doubt the worst season ...ever, at least that I have seen. I know it's kind of a drag not having LH run, but I think I mentioned back on the first page it was our intention to run it, but let's face it....we just need more people, period...and this is not just a Sno issue. Was reading the article in the WB Times Leader today...everyone's numbers are down....way down. People just don't want to ski. I was on the mountain last night and in between Switch & Whistler the ground was completely unfrozen and soft..not wet..just fall like soft. This being the first week of February. Sad. But...that is no ones fault...we're just going to continue doing what we can to keep things the best we can, and so far we've been doing quite well despite the odds. The deals are in place and we will keep them in place the rest of the season...hopefully we will get bombed at least once in February.
  16. Thanks for picking up on that. I see I'm not the only one who can't think/type straight until a pot of coffee has been consumed! lol...
  17. Thanks for the support! Now that sounds like a good plan to me!
  18. ^ Thanks for the review. Monday crowds seem to be light...too bad you didn't go up today as it's "$10 Tuesday"..but, at least you came up. If we could get the crowd numbers up...just need a better Winter...we would run LH..in fact that was our plan actually..during the week. Trees...yeah...in hindsight we should have kept the trees but, we are planning on addressing that. I do recall, and now it's been a long time since I skied, that Sno had about the widest trails of any mountain (Actually got carried off Boulder years ago when I lost control on a very narrow trail and had nowhere to go but down and into the trees) You have to admit, we're making improvements...just keep the reports coming...and thanks!
  19. The park will be fine as the temps are going to drop off toward the weekend giving us a chance to get snow down on it. And that is correct...the 4 for $50 starts and runs every Sat/Sunday night at 4pm with the exception of Presidents Weekend.
  20. ^ Lomg haul does not run during the week...and there might be random trails closed due to grooming issues, maintenance, ect.
  21. Had the guns on all Friday night...so...take that Mother Nature! ALL LIFTS RUNNING....99% trails OPEN!
  22. Today would be a good day!^
  23. You won't be dissapointed Donna...we had our snow guns on all Friday night...they are still on and we have a nice new layer of fresh powder, so..before heading back to the sun & sand, come up and visit us. Look me up...cowboy hat...usually have a camera attatched to me!
  24. We're fine...LH doesn't run during the week and I know by Iron Horse we had a water main issue yesterday..so power was off a bit, but it got cleared up rather quickly.
  25. Yeah..sure we lost some snow but overall things are holding up, considering I swear we laid feet of snow down during that cold spell 2 weeks ago. Just have to make it thru tomorrow and the weekend before we see a dip in temps again on Monday.
