  1. Don't do it. Your skis are legendary. You even had a cake presented in their honor. Switch to something else, and you'll be just like the others.
  2. LX Kastles aren't stiff either. Salty, why are you shopping? Peer pressure?
  3. I have to say, it's a beautiful shot. Snaking lines disappearing over the horizon, color coordinated pair in front, huge snowflakes. They should put it in the booklet!
  4. Wow, longest line for bread ever.
  5. So, hearing that Belleayre got 24" of new snow last week, still having unused ORDA cards and Superbowl on the horizon, we decided to do a day trip to Belleayre, especially since more snow was coming. The timing of this new storm and its general direction couldn't have been more perfect. It was coming from south west in the morning, was supposed to dump 3-5 inches in NJ and Catskills during the day and then just disappear into the Atlantics. So, we've left the house at 5:15am and by 8am were at the mountain having seen not a drop of rain, not a single snowflake, only dry and empty roads. The mountain wasn't supposed to be open until 9am, but all of the lifts were already spinning. It's nice when the management actually anticipates that people may be coming to ski and starts the lifts not just when lines build up, but way ahead of the opening hour. By 8:30 we were on the slopes and seeing that some blue jackets were already going down started asking around about if it was OK for us to ski as well. "Go!" - they've said: "Go, while the crowds didn't come yet". And so we went. And as it turned out later, the crowds never actually came. The grooming was impeccable. Same beautiful carpet as I've seen at Blue last Thursday, except that there was just more of it. And the trails stayed good not for an hour and a half, but for the entire day. It was really unbelievable, at Blue lately I can't help but notice that my sessions started to get shorter and shorter because people get smarter, lines build up faster, and snow turns into crap sooner. Here we a-priori decided to wait out the bad road conditions on the mountain from 9am to 4pm, and initially had this idea that we HAD TO ski all day until the storm has passed, but it turned out that we didn't HAVE TO, there was no such feeling of being trapped on the mountain, we didn't count the hours until it was time to leave. We just skied open-to-close and enjoyed every minute of it. It started snowing around 9am. At times the snow was heavy, at times light, I think the total amount of precipitation was less than forecasted, especially in Catskills, but regardless, it was just such a great winter day. Is there something else one could wish for? Sure. Good roads on the way back. And we've got them too, all plowed, no slush, door to door. Woo-hoo!
  6. Hell yeah. Some seem to come here just to say how they don't like seeing what they see. It's a democracy. Create your own thread and post whatever propaganda you want there. And, Salty, thank you for this pardon. Vote Trump!
  7. At least those were lines for bread, not for lottery tickets or big ass TVs on a Black Friday.
  8. You're just afraid that you won't be able to Ride The Mountain as nicely on them as Salty.
  9. This is very thoughtful! Perhaps like @GrilledSteezeSandwich you'll pass your legendary skis to another PASR member at the closing ceremony this year!
  10. Nice try with 15 seconds. Think of it this way. If all were riding quads by themselves instead of in pairs 'cause they feel like it, you'd be standing 20 mins in line instead of 10. Ha, yesterday on my last way up I twice tried joining a pair on the six-pack. One said they'd let me in only if the liftie told them so. Grandma from the other one was even more resolute saying point blank they'd rather ride by themselves. Take your immunocompromised body to a nice XC trip in the woods, but don't play a selfish ass when the lines behind you are out of control!
  11. Yeah, aren't you 6' something after all??
  12. Out of curiosity, do you not like something about your current BMX? Or is it just time for something new?
  13. Salty, I never rate threads, but yours deserves 5 stars for vistas like that. Now even if your Sonic loses a shoe in that wilderness or kicks the bucket due to neglect, I'm sure it will make the trip only better. Lucky you!
  14. Good typing skills but no imagination. A repeat message with trivial alteration? Every other letter in caps? Try harder.
  15. The snow was awesome from the start, it really is the best of the season right now. Kinda skiing groomers in Alps. So enjoyable. Especially with the sun out. Doesn't last too long though with that many people. I'd say that in an hour it turns just being OK. The Coming Soon turned into a mogul field. And with the coverage being thin, those moguls are right down to rocks in many places. Be cautious. Crowds were gradually picking up, felt like a holiday weekend, not a Thursday morning. I called it quits after two hours, but still a great day.
  16. STFU and try skiing for a bitching relief valve. They say, the conditions are great.
  17. Sure. Now go back to that mirror and pat yourself for being such a great lad.
  18. I don't know what to think. Are people discussing snowblowers here because next Sunday storm is gonna surpass the last one and so "be prepaaaared"? Or is that because the new storm is not happening, and so the thread can take a detour? What's the latest map from restricted forum looking like?
  19. They were totally worth the wait though. Gorgeous!
  20. Is it freezing rain time?? WF is so full of surprises.
  21. Woah, this looks majestic! I start doubting the idea of going to UT over spring break. Should've booked AK!
  22. And better skis
  23. Let's not steal Salty's thunder here. I keep on hitting F5 just to see more pics of WF, but he apparently prefers to keep torturing his loyal subscribers!
  24. It's discontinued, so he really should baby this very unique specimen that he was lucky to get his hands on.
