  1. The morning has started quite unexpectedly with some snow falling and drifting on I-80. Conditions were pretty awesome all day long, uniform and soft in the morning slowly progressing to a mix of small bumps and areas scraped to firm base. Thankfully no ice, so still plenty of traction for whatever kind of skiing you like. Race team has started early, and following a caravan of minivans at 30mph was probably the most annoying part of the day. Luckily, on the slopes the race teams took very-very small profile and were hugging just the left edge of Challenge most of the time. At noon the lodge has predictably overflowed, but not so bad as I remember it on Presidents day weekend last year. We should've skied beyond 2pm, but the lack of sun and high humidity eventually got to us, so we left before closing. Bottom line, grabbing those Cyber Monday tickets at night and diverting to JF on busy days still makes a lot of sense even if you have a season pass elsewhere.
  2. You know freaking what, I'm sick of it. Less then a week, and I hardly want to post here again. Yeah right, you'll see more traffic on this site. Not with this overwhelmingly warmish attitude.
  3. Yeah! I saw that. The fresh cord lasted 5 mins tops, and they've probably just been moving their groomers up in a single column, but it was a nice run out of nowhere.

Did you just insult everyone here except for me? Wow, just wow.
  5. Nah, that wasn't about wide vs narrow at all. It just looked like he bought a Ford to drive daily and a Cadillac to occupy a space in the garage meanwhile. But like I've said, stupid question And OMG, have I been thinking a lot while I was asking it, there are so many things to digest about Doug's post now 😹
  6. Well, let me ask you a "stupid question" then. Would it not make more sense to make a daily driver a more advanced ski and pick something simpler for those rare pow days? 95C don't even have any metal in them as it seems.
  7. I'm a little confused about GSS's plans on using these 95C and BMX115. Is 95C going to be a daily driver from now on? And is BMX going to be reserved for snow days and JH?
  8. Yeah, I was there 8:45-1pm. I agree, conditions were great today. Boo to rain.
  9. Yeah, that's partly true. Many people dive dry year around, some do ice diving as well. It's just less comfortable in winter.
  10. It's about same frequency as with skiing, have an opportunity and time, why not to go. I don't like sharks, even if they're just nurse sharks. A predator is a predator, but some people are daredevils or for some reason are going out of their way to argue why it's safe. For tank or regulator failures you dive with somebody else to reduce the chances or carry another tank. And Great Barrier Reef is way, waaaay too far for me to even think of it. 24hr flight time, no thanks.
  11. He "sort of skied" because he arrived when I was about to leave. So I trailed them on Paradise once, then we had another run on Lazy, but I didn't go all the way down, went to Main street lift and up to pack.
  12. Well, news flash. I'll be there too! 2-3" of rain is no joke.
  13. Man of few words. Ok? Ok.
  14. Pretty sure he's turning in his grave every time you mention him. I'm actually bummed that JF is only 50% open so far. Challenge and Thunderbolt are open, which is cool, but your buddy's still out, I'm afraid.
  15. Yeah, the weather isn't aligning very well with my work. Looking outside, I should've taken half a day today as well, but can't, and it's raining later, and then it's the rush season again. Good thing I've snatched JFBB cyber monday tickets, maybe I will wait out the storm there.
  16. I was wrapping up diving season, I told you. The snow was surprisingly good yesterday, whatever they managed to make in time for my arrival, so I'm itching to come back on Sunday, but am kinda worrying about crowd levels. Yesterday it was like skiing in a ghost town, something tells me Sunday is gonna be 100% the opposite.
  17. There sure are, but they lack personal touch and thrill. Are you going to JH this year?
  18. No kidding! Last year around this time you were skipping days because of no customers, and nowadays it's booming? Good thing PA is not on the bottom of some canyon. There was this movie Deliverance where in preparation for flooding a village they were relocating church and graveyard to a new place. Literally dug every grave and coffin and moved them elsewhere. Oh wait, that's actually a bad thing then. So many missed business opportunities.
  19. I say you photoshoped it like Salty last year with CB map in a golden frame. Btw, what happened to the plans of sending graveyards to hell and becoming a ski bum? On the way to fruition I suppose?
  20. Oh shoooot, it's like second year in a row. I'll be in Dolomites 02/03-02/10. My only excuse is that I've booked it this summer and was aiming at the last week before the avalanche of school breaks.
  21. What, curiosity got the best of you? It has long been taken out of the box and even tried. 13 times in a row. Also part of the reason why I couldn't switch back to skiing for so long this year. But since you've asked so nicely, I'll oblige. Here, picture perfect. And heeey, since I'm on Atomic year round now, can I claim AtomicEaf and promote Jeff to KastleSkier, to avoid unnecessary confusion, you know? Well I say "promote", but you know what I mean right?
  22. That six pack btw was a total disaster today. Stopped at least 4 times while I was there, once they couldn't restart it for 5 mins. Would hum and shutdown on it's own. Scared to go back on Sunday now...
  23. Looky what I snatched over the Black Friday... Had some doubts initially, but hey, if it's Atomic, it must be good, right Jeff?
  24. Nah, I honky-tonk.
