  1. Meh, it all sounded not quite right. Really, the main idea was: cheer up. Not for me, but in general. I may suck in skiing, but I suck the way: "OMG, did you see how awesomely I suck?" LOL.
  2. I'm saying, stop criticizing yourself all the time. There is of course stereotyping in the "hot ski diva" but not in the way how you're trying to present it. You obviously don't have to please men with your skiing grace or hotness (this topic would really be a hit on some feminist forum), but I find it hard (or interesting) to believe that you may be getting a kick out of persistently portraying yourself, and actually taking effort to draw every subtle detail of that portrait, just so that everybody would be absolutely clear, as the opposite of the image that somehow felt so offensive to you.
  3. Don't you twist it around. This has nothing to do with your sex.
  4. You're saying, she's gonna feel blue forever? Maybe I should join that forum. So many divine opportunities. They hang out regularly too...
  5. Hey, I haven't seen you. I can only build your character by what you're saying about yourself. So brighten it up a little. You're a hot ski diva who can't just go to a bar w/o walking out with a number on a napkin every time.
  6. Those were good days. The amazing part, as I see it now, was that it was all going on not in some remote village in Siberia, but within Moscow city limits. It's like living in NYC and skiing in Central Park with school. IIRC we had a 5km race test at the end.
  7. Yep, with a rifle behind my back, constantly on a watch out for bears. Seriously though, skiing was part of regular physical education. Twice a week we were bringing skis to school and then instead of regular gym activities or running would circle in a park or ravine nearby. And those were 100% wood skis. Before the season's start we'd cover the bases with a tar like substance and would heat the entire ski over the oven to saturate the wood. Used it in place of wax. Nice smell too.
  8. You asked me once this already. I ski alpine since 97 and was doing cross country all my life prior to then.
  9. I almost missed the $14 ticket and had to stop by at home to grab my skis. Deal at Montage was properly announced, but that's because that was Sally, she simply can't fully shake off her divine manners while she's hanging out here. Soon she'll be posting deals under the Gear section. And yes, I'm like salty hitting F5 in anticipation of the season pass price.
  10. Yeah, I do. But unless I'm on top of things and constantly looking I can easily miss out things like a cheap ticket announcement or season pass sale date that gets mentioned in the middle of some random thread and instantly gets buried in some other talk. Some organization and discipline for such things would make the forum so much better.
  11. Look who's talking! I'm posting a funny picture of a rope lift on top Kriegerhorn, you're reposting it under Montage along with a bunch of typical jerrying, gapering and what not. There must be a secret stats area on this site for daily usage of "Jerry". The winner gets to board the first chair next day.
  12. Nononono, it was all correct. Expressing an opinion with respect to BM here is not an option. BM truly and unequivocally has the best terrain. Cross my heart and hope to die.
  13. I dont think he hates blue as much as the fact that we all don't. I hate crowds and commute. I freely admin that BM has the best terrain of all mountains that are close to me.
  14. Seriously??? Is that enforced at divas?? Wow, I've seen only one forum so far with a girly section. There were two mods, a guy for the whole forum and a girl for just the girls. So she really took an effort of verifying that every poster in that privileged section was indeed a girl. That's it. So disappointed in divas. One less ski forum for me
  15. On what grounds? Are there rules on this forum? This place isn't a "how do you do?" hall, not a library full of tech info or publications, it's 90% random talk and post-factum trail reports. Oh, there are some stats too, which is ironic because in one thread people could teach salty how he's not a skier because he values his vertical stats over everything else, and in another they can bitch over a day vs night entry at BM. This forum would be invaluable as a source of local info and deals for tons of people, most of them don't even care to post here and browse anonymous. But inevitably such threads are hijacked and get drown in talks about food, salty teasing, RTM, 170s, etc. You're the main offender, btw. And moderators are busy editing salty's tags.
  16. Yes, that's why I'm not registered at divas. I slouch when I take my morning tea. But I do think it's you who have mixed up words this time. I can't be more the opposite of a mainsplainer, but I do see how you can get a feeling of it generally here.
  17. Was that addressed to me? Humility here actually gets you nowhere. I've seen it myself several times how you start punching yourself for being a bad skier (I myself think you're mostly pretending all the time, for you can ski 10 hours straight, and it's hard to do it if you're that bad), and that just triggers an awkward silence or a pat on the back. This forum is for dirt racing, those who want to go long way are better off on a pugski highway.
  18. Hey, watch out, you'll get some friendly fire. it's now my thread. All miiiiine.
  19. Who's "pretend to be a know-it-all" here? Humble as it can get! Never call Jerry a Jerry and always bow down when someone enters through a VIP gate.
  20. It's actually funny how the names can sound. Take Jerry for instance. Something bright, goofy, with a big smile, almost sunny, hence positive. And take a Snob on the other hand. Not a name? Ah, too bad, some could certainly wear it. Snobbishly.
