On the positive side... Until 10 it was decent. I'vefinished demoing of the Navigators. Took them deliberately short, 80/172, to compare to last Enforcer 93/177. They were wiggly at that length, but still held me well in turns. Kudos for the ice handling. A 179 or longer (taking into account rocker) would be good for me. They also were much-much more amortized compared to my Atomics. Same as Enforcer, maybe even more. I swapped with my daughter for a few runs, and she said that they were hundred time better than my Atomics. For her they also held better on ice than Elans, and overall more stable and comfortable. The tech who was tuning Navigators for me said that he loved the 85/179 for their versatility. They could do both GS and SL skiing.- 73 replies

OK, I'm too lazy to create a separate thread for this, and it may not even be worth it... At the opening Paradise was the best. Soft, nice, a real pleasure... Within an hour big spots of ice started to show. Lazy had plenty of broken ice groomed into the top layer, so the ride was hard. Since then the upper part soften up, became real nice, but the mid part got scraped to ice. Sidewinder was pleasant until overcrowded. Switchback is pure ice. I'm sorry for all the folks who have clearly ended up there by mistake and were struggling to get down. Main Street was good. All in all, if JF gets an A+ for tomorrow snow and skiing pleasure, this is a C-.- 73 replies

It's hard to improve something where poop and farts are the every day's subjects. But we're trying!- 73 replies

Yeah and speaking of blowing snow, I doubt they did. Blue ice is already showing all over the place. Paradise is the worst. Lazy started all hard, Sidewinder was in between.- 73 replies

It's fine if they found gold over there. But wtf is all the final stretch covered in this shit? It's abrasive and dirty. $3 are not gonna cover it! I expect to be compensated in golden nuggets for this kind of snow.- 73 replies

Actually, yeah, I think you're losing your touch, salty. Rather than giving us the timeline of how you were sitting instead of skiing, you should've taken a pic or two of that corduroy, and not macro, some bigger shots as well, and should've posted them as a proof of how awesome CB was. That would've prompted an investigation of EXIF and what not, that would of course confirm your story, and imagine the look on the faces of pasr that had to retreat from BM at 10:30 while you were still shredding a freshly groomed terrain in the afternoon. Oh well...
-
Still has a long way to go. If he had been one of pasr, he wouldn't have described the entire ordeal with the lift, he would've told the world how lucky he was to ski the best mountain on the planet that offers freshly groomed terrain in the middle of the day

Well, think if it this way... They would delete GSS's posts only if they get paid a few bucks for it. Yours they mess with for free.

12pm, and it's now a zoo in the lodge

Well, it may be a stretch, but only a tiny bit. You know, 170 to 177 kind of a stretch. Ankle deep soft stuff throughout the entire Challenge. Soft and silent cruising all the way down. Amazing how much they've managed to do only 24 hours since the monsoon. You don't have to "blow other mountains", but you've got to give them some credit when it's due. Lots of credit this time!

It's traditionally amazing here at JF. The morning was brisk, 0F according to an outside thermometer on the way to the mountain. Surprisingly many people were already here at opening, but that was just a surge of ski school kids and their parents. It's 10am now and the lodge is still only 30% full. Lots, lots of snowmaking happened over the last 24 hours. No ice anywhere, everything is covered with a nice level and often thick layer of fresh snow. Because of it, it's kind if soft and slow. Glades have been erased, but in place of them there is an ungroomed Challenge with piles of new soft powdery stuff. Life couldn't have been better here this morning. The only thing I'm currently wishing for is that there was a demo program at JF.
-
The complications had better be real, not just you falling through the pile of powder into a rabbit's hole and ending up heliskiing in Japan.
-
Yeah, I don't want to share the life of Bruno from that parallel thread. So let's just say I'll be at BM on Monday.
-
Why wouldn't you embrace my company yourself? How will I ever graduate from "Making Turns" to being a "Gold Medalist" when you always look down on me from your mighty Shiros?

Did you know, they christen rockets before each launch in Baikonour these days? A pope gets to the launching pad and sprinkles holy water all over the place. Amazing, so many years after what your student is trying to describe, a century of pretty much kicking the church out of the country, it's back to square one. No ship will fly without a ritual of blessings from church, and cosmonauts are even taking icons in space. So, yeah, continue looking into the development of modern scientific methods. The methods may evolve, people don't ever change.

Well, the morning didn't go without some pretty gloomy predictions. You're already too late! Busses are coming!! I'm bored. I didn't think of skiing until Monday, but I think I'll give it a chance tomorrow. Buses, here I come!
-
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I watched WC SL yesterday, and that just was so inspirational. I think I'm ready to graduate from skiing BM and come with you to do slalom on the real slopes, in the real powder, not this easter shit. Plus, the weather in JH beats Italy hands down. They had +3C at the bottom and 0C up top yesterday. Had to use chemicals so that women wouldn't get glued to the snow on every turn.
-
I'm watching the webcam facing Sullivan, and there are hardly any people. Amazing. Must all be sitting in the hotel and sharing stories of an epic ski day.
-
Mmmm. Airlines must love you dearly. I should take my SL skis to JH. They're as playful as it gets. Best match for the terrain.

I bet it was intentional. I would capitalize Earth and leave bible as is, that would go well with the mention of inquisition and burning Bruno (which, I hope, was on the following page?). "Many people disagreed", ha!
