  1. OMG, it's only upper lodge access. I thought it was "for wankers"
  2. Disastrous today... Snow is thin, lines are long as they've lost one lift. Veeerry sorry that I came here.
  3. Even more so at night
  4. Got Elan skis with integrated bindings, and am somewhat confused by the markings on the plates... There are two scales on the toe and heel plates: left and right. Scales obviously have something to do with the BSL, but they don't match. The left-hand scale is marked with L both on the toe and heel plates. Right hand scale is marked with F on the toe plate and with B on the heel one. There are no instructions. Does anybody know what the two scales correspond to, and what the L/F/B markings might mean? Aaaand somehow picture upload didn't work, so here is an external link: https://ibb.co/bWVu0m
  5. The converted Delaware to a park! The one trail that had nice curves and snow, not overcrowded, and fun to ride, is now gone! And the Bushkill trail where the park used to be, and which they now proclaim to be "great for top to bottom carving and cruising" is served by a single slow double chair lift!
  6. I'm contemplating to go to Whiteface on the WNEP card and then stopping at Killington or Hunter on the way there or back. What's the best way of getting a discount ticket for either of these two mountains? Killington has a voucher, but it's valid only until 12/16. Hunter used to have some cart, IIRC. Are they traditionally running any promotions around black friday? Or have some usable deals for a single visit?
  7. Can't recall now, it was two years ago. I do remember, that the conditions were prime, and it was the beginning of the season. Rangers at JFBB even laughed at me the next week for even considering BM on that weekend. It was terrible indeed.
  8. Just the crowds? Heh, I remember how I came to upper lodge on BM one weekend, and people were standing in a 100'-long ticketing line along the sidewalk. My past impression of MC was that it was kind of warmer and slushier than the neighboring mountains.
  9. What's wrong with MC? I haven't been there for a long time, but thought I'd give it a chance with this card.
  10. For instance Dolomiti/Sella Ronda in Italy. 5-day pass 205 EUR, huge, really vast interconnected skiing area, not just one mountain. Direct flights from JFK to Milan for $700. Or Arlberg area in Austria. 5-day pass 240 EUR, direct flights from EWR to Zurich for $680. Your lodging is surprisingly cheap, btw. How did you get lift tickets for $601? I see, they have a promo for season pass holders, is that it?
  11. A $600 United? Why not some European resort then? Flights are about the same, and skiing/lodging is cheaper.
  12. It seems like these cards won't be available this year. "We appreciate the support you have shown over the years, however these cards will not be available through the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau this year. But have no fear, the deals are still here! We encourage you to visit our individual ski areas for their early bird specials and season pass sales!" https://www.poconomountains.com/things-to-do/ski-snow-activities/ski-and-ride-card/
