TR 1/28. Rolled in at 8:30 to a snowy day. The snow showers turned out to be steady snow until noon. Best conditions of the year, soft, quiet snow on all trails. Kodiak, Upper Kodiak, Timberline, Broadway all exceptional. Grizzly has new seeded bumps that need to work in that cover the skiers left side, bumps go all the way to the bottom. Two big new snow features in Black Bear Park plus an additional ramp put on top of the big hump. Smiles on everyone's faces today! JADIP

What you are seeing is a water line fairly into the woods. It is not a fence or near the trail

TR 1/25 absolutely best day of the season. Rolled in at 8:30, second chair. Kodiak was wonderful cord and stayed as great snow until I left at noon. Grizzly skiers right, Timberline, Broadway every bit as good as Kodiak. Only issue was in and out flat light. JADIP

It is crazy to charge parking; think about it, a family of 4 comes in and pays for lift tickets, rentals ($100 per person for ticket and rental), $100 for food (if they are lucky) and then gets jabbed $40 to park. lol. I will say that paying for parking is going to keep me from going to Camelback or JF/BB. Greedy pigs trying to bleed us dry and ruin the sport. It won't keep away the NY/NJ crowd but will affect the local crowd.

Looking good antman; think I saw you in the a chair liftline. TR 1/24 was perhaps the best day at Bear this year! Snow was smooth and wonderful. ROTD Grizzly. TImberline a close second. Even with the event going on minimal to no lift lines. Kodiak was very nice up until we left at 1; Black Bear had really nice snow. Edgeable all over the mt. The wife did Extreme because the skiers right was looking real good and it was! Just a bit sketchy early in day to get to the good stuff. Blue Bird day! Also- kudoos to the lifties! Great staff this year.
-
Yep, it does. Of course you should have someone else with you I would suppose so it looks like you actually are dropping someone off, lol. When I left at 3 there were quite a few spaces down close. I didn't see anyone directing traffic.

Planning to get to Montage for the first time in years within the next two weeks, shooting for a Wednesday. There may not be anyone else there! Last time there (a long time ago!!) I watched the fog bowl in the lodge.....

TR 1-22. Rolled in at 8:40 and the parking lot was already full back to the Bear Creek sign, never a great thing to see. Got first chair on E and went over to F for the morning. Grizzly was sweet all morning, Broadway was nice and easy to carve, Timberline was really nice! They no longer close Timberline completely for racing, just one side of it and they left the best part for us! Even with the crowd no real waits on the line until about 10:30. Left the hill at 11 to start my work. Everyone I talked to all afternoon was loving the conditions. All in all, JADIP for a Saturday.

TR 1-21; rolled into the lot at 8:30 and it was very cold! Very few cars in lot. Ropes dropped at 9:10 and had first chair up B. Kodiak was perhaps the best snow of the season! Jumped over to F chair and snow on that side was mostly firm as it was still early. Grizzly was absolutely sweetness on the half shell, powdery and eminently edgeable into a firm Broadway. Timberline was fairly nice, in and out of ungroomed on top of the firm. Top 2/3 of Sasquatch was powdery and sweet with very firm/icy bottom 1/4. Black Bear was nice snow. All in all it was great conditions with warming up (if you can call it that) in late morning. JADIP.

Rolled into the lot at 8:30 this morning; steady line and the parking lot was filled at level it is normally at close to 10. Everyone out for the new snow. Antman's description was dead on. I skied F chair until 10:30, Grizzly was sweet again, Broadway really held up well and Polar Bear was very nice. Then went to B and skied Kodiak and Black Bear. Black Bear snow was some of the nicest of the day. Yes, no one allowed on snow until rope drop, but this morning was unusually crowded at that time so plaza was crowded. Best bet in that case is go to E, then to F from there. JADIP

Just shy of 4" in Fleetwood today, fluffy powder
-
Pulled into the lot at 8:45 and the hill looked great. Caught first chair at B lift and the conditions couldn't have been nicer. Smooth cord, powder on the sides. After 4 or 5 runs on Kodiak and Black Bear moved over to F chair. Grizzly was absolutely fine regardless of the line, left, center or right. Timberline and Extreme were not open, Sasquatch not open but all expected open tomorrow. The new RFID system worked great. All in all JADIP.

Sounds like OSHA needs to visit them. Two serious incidents in same year. Hope they do better when they take over at Blue!
-
Looking forward to a new season, retiring end of September so looking at 4 to 5 days per week skiing! 2 days at Bear for Mountain Host and re-aquainting with Blue, Jack, Montage, Elk and getting to New England! Maybe get lucky and meet up with you guys one day at Blue.

Mark Schroetel (spelling?) that was the manager at BC when they removed the Doe Mt lodge and built the new stuff 20 years ago went out west to Powder Mountain as GM. Ran a nice mountain at BC, should be nice if he is still at Powder Mountain as far as management. FWIIW.

And a lot more than you care to think of to follow, lol
-
Was one of BC's best years; record number of season passes. Sold out because of limiting ticket sales to control the crowd. Probably saw more families than ever this year.
-
Great day to end the season. Limited terrain but great snow. Soft and could edge early, got real soft but held up. Mostly boarders and park rats. Incredible tricks and flips by the boarders in the park. Great vibe all in all. Music on the patio and sunshine. JADIP

This is a really cool area. Skied there a number of times. If you go overnight they own a really great bed and breakfast right across the valley looking at the mountain. Restored old farm. The pizza joint in town is really good too. Mount Snow is only 40 minutes away too.
-
So, per Bear Creek website, will be limiting ticket sales, hotel guest, season pass holders no problem, oters must order tickets online with reservation for public. Will be limited daily based on hotel and season passes.. No mention of any other restrictions for now

Don't really know, he was in an assisted living doing rehab, tested negative before he left, 5 days later had it. His lady friend was positive, maybe got it from her....

FWIIW, my stepfather who is 84 and in bad health fell, I had to help with getting the meatwagon there to help get him up and to the hospital. He then tested positive for COVID. Wonderful. good news, I am negative, my wife is negative. My brother is negative. So one positive and 3 negatives to Berks total this week. If/when he passes, will be a COVID death although heart/diabetes/other is the real cause. Berks is pushing up to the limits the state is setting.

We had 7" of rain in our rain guage today, we also had 7" from the weekend storm, 14" total here in Fleetwood. Lot's of waist deep water in basements here, I got lucky, no issues.
