Sadly don't have any pics of myself as the first day my girlfriend injuried herself. Better for me though as I didn't have to wait around for her or hear her bitching about the ice later in the day . Whiteface got better by the day. Tuesday night-wednesday we received 7 inches at the base, mid mountain and summit there must have been 10-14 inches. Snowed almost the entire time we were up there. Wednesday I was first on the gondola and Essex and Mountain Run were unreal. On the sides of the trails in some areas it was knee deep. It was my first powder experience and I pretty much lost my mind that day. As for places we went to and would advise. We ate at The Wilderness Inn, Hungry Trout, and Rosalia's Italian Kitchen which are all just down the road from Whiteface. No complaints on the food or service. The town has wonderful people, service, and food. Word to the wise every food place in Wilmington closes at 9pm or sooner. We didn't realize this till the second night and I ended up eating cereal for dinner haha. As for in Lake Placid I would recommend Wise Guys. Mr Mike's is pretty cool also. They got a bad rep for a while supposely but they have a new chef and the food is well priced for the quality and quantity.

Oh ya I love um. Snow is in the forecast for Sunday-tuesday along with Thursday. So I'm hoping. Would be awesome if look out mountain could open in time before I leave or at least parts of it. Thanks for the info will def be checking it out!

I leave this Sunday for whiteface! Watching some storm systems closely for that area. Any advice for whiteface as it's my first trip?

Damn sounds cool! Def would pay for something like this. My sister has an $1800 camera but she won't let me take it on the mountain. Haha.

I know how you feel. I haven't gotten out that much this season. You were right the winds were straight in your face. Actually fell on Razor's Edge from the gusts. Toward the end it started becoming a cross wind, and that mixed with all the snow blown off the trails wasn't great. I never mind ice but high winds i see are a problem on ice when your straight lining. Washed out and slid a couple hundred feet. I was worried I ripped my brand new pants haha.

It was epic today at blue. I've never been in winds like that. The 6 chair would shut off due to the sensors reading above 45mph sustained winds. Highest recorded wind speed was 62mph I heard. I dropped into razors edge, got hit by a gust of wind and blew me back to almost parallel of the sign that has the double dimond symbol.

I would believe it. Alotta locations in NJ already have 18+. With those bands that went through earlier they were easily 2-3 inches an hour. Wish blue got what central NJ is getting!

i'm sure it will. i'll be up and out the door by 4:30 a.m.,home around 2:30-3, and at blue by 4ish. somebody come join me at blue so i don't fall asleep on the lifts.

Does anyone think Look Out Mountain will be open by the beginning of Janurary? when does that open. those glades look really fun.

No I didn't make it today. did it get good? i know here in the lehigh valley we have barely anything. friend called me and said i'm going to have a hell of a time getting into Jersey tomorrow as they have over a foot as we speak.

For the last two years I've wanted to go to Jackson hole so bad. Can't ever find anyone to go with. Looks like an awesome place, and what a good season they are having.
