  1. The pants I got were about $40 each, but were in perfect condition. Would be bout $100 I think if I got them new. Plus I feel happy about reusing something and not contributing to waste.
  2. I’ve bought 4 pairs of pants I wear to work on Worn Wear. Great site!
  3. Thanks. The dude had no helmet. At first I was panicked that I was gonna see a dead body, but when I got closer I saw he was breathing it was a relief, and another skier was right there so he stayed with him while I booked it down to get patrol. Hopefully it snows and stays cold for your March trip!
  4. We stayed at a little motel in Claryville called the Blue Hill lodge. Was about 30 minutes from Bellayre and 50 minutes from Plattekill. They had a good restaurant, deli, convenience store, and they are opening a brewery soon. We’ll stay there again next time I think.
  5. Just got home from a fun weekend skiing with the family. We drove up to the Catskills on Friday afternoon and checked into our motel. Woke up early on Saturday morning and went up to Plattekill. I can see how this place would be awesome when there is good snow, but it was in rough shape after the warmth and rain a couple days ago. Lots of ice and thin cover. My new skis are no longer new. Totally loved the down home unassuming vibe of the mountain. Unfortunately on one trip down Overlook my wife took a big fall on some exposed dirt and rocks. Hurt her shoulder but she was able to bounce back. MRI tomorrow though. I also came upon a guy who was laying between a tree and a fence unconscious but breathing. Super scary stuff, but I was able to get help. Hope he ended up ok. I did about a million runs down Powder Puff and Lower Face with my kids. All in all we had a good day at Plattekill and I really want to go again when conditions are a bit better. Mountain View Me with the kids We we got dinner at the Russian restaurant at our motel which was awesome, had a couple brewskis and went to bed. Sunday morning we got up and hit Belleayre. A lot of closed runs, and glades of course were not in play, but the grooming was great. We did many many laps on the gondola which had a pretty quick moving line despite the huge Presidents’ Day crowds. My wife was a tough trooper skiing with her busted wing, and my kids continue to get a little better and have lots and lots of fun. Had an awesome rodeo burger in the summit cabin for lunch. In the afternoon when everything got scraped off I was grinding spines and surfing sugar on the sides of trails. Called it a day about 3 and bounced back home. Awesome 2 days of skiing. I always forget how many turns I make when I ski with my kids! I’m pooped! Little man cruising Ski bridge Wife and daughter Kids in gondola Wife and daughter again

    gift cards

This got me thinking. Does anyone know if you can use a season pass discount to buy a gift card, then use the gift card to buy next year’s pass? Does the 10% only apply to food and gear?
  7. I'm out. Going up to Plattekill and Belleayre for a day each with wife and kids. Tuesday or Thursday night next for me at Blue.
  8. Ha! Could come in handy in the lot...
  9. I've heard that the go to item at buffet concerts is a home depot bucket with a pool noodle around the rim for padding. Those silly baby boomers!
  10. Despite skiing hard I gained 5 lbs from all the beer and good food and weird dumping schedule.
  11. Time for some leg slapping! Get this man a tambourine.
  12. I'm definitely coming back. JH is too good and life is too short. Totally agree with you here. Staying ahead of the crowds is great. That whole Moran Face (washakie) area and Saratoga Bowl skied real nice too. Moran Face, Saratoga Bowl, Alta 1, the Headwall, Expert Chutes and Crags Hike-to were all on my list to check off this year. Gotta go back for the Expert Chutes and Crags hike-to stuff.
  13. This is my move
  14. Wow i didn't know the Frost Guard was such a widely respected accessory. I thought it looked kind of gimmicky. I should have tried to sell it on eBay!
  15. You're welcome and anytime.
  16. Sorry. ++++++VIBES+++++
  17. My sister gave me one of these Frost Guard things, but I've never used it since I park in the garage. I'll give it to you if you're interested.
  18. You love balls?
  19. Wearing a helmet is a good choice but it’s gonna be brutal on that beautiful head of hair you got.
  20. They’re great!
  21. Great day today and way warmer than yesterday too. Nice surprise inch of snow made things a tiny bit softer and trees were great fun again. Today was my last day at Jackson Hole this year but I hope I’ll be able to come back in the near future. Got a few pics of JFSkiDan in Washakie.
  22. Super fun Jackson Hole day! Minus 15 isn’t that bad when you’re workin it. My favorite runs of the day were Saratoga Bowl, and I split off from the guys to check out the Washakie glade/ Moran Face area which was real nice. Chilly drive to the village mbikeski at the bottom of bivouac scenery top of Saratoga bowl washakie glade
  23. I actually have quads of steel so they’re feeling okay. My right calf needs a little stretching and pooped in general but I’ll bounce back once it’s time to hit the dance flo’ at the cowboy bar.
  24. @Atomicskier kicked my ass real good this morning! First 3 runs of the season for me other than Blue and Montage were headwall hike, Alta 1 (zero was closed lol) and the Hobacks. Amazing day with the whole crew.
  25. I'm probably the last person to take advice from but you shouldn't limit yourself! You'll gradually get used to all kinds of conditions as you improve. You don't have to risk life and limb to make progression. Easy bumps, a little bit of powder, next time something a little steeper. Variety is the spice of life!
