    Taos

It's been snowing, and I'm getting ready to go back in a couple weeks. Stoke is building!
  2. Should be making an appearance at Blue Saturday if not one night this week.
  3. We had a fun time up there. Had some beers with Schif and his buddy on Saturday night, was great to meet a fellow PASR and nice guy. The skiing was nice today too. All the groomed trails skied really well. I had never spent any time in the glades area there and it was a lot of fun. White lightning had big bumps after the snowfall but actually wasn't that soft after it got real cold and frozen last night. Still fun though. I got a little overzealous with the off trail stuff forgetting that there is no base underneath the fresh. Will be lighting some ptex on fire this week. My wife is getting more confident on skis too which is a bonus. She's now comfortable on all the blues, so we'll keep progressing from there hopefully. Also, the weather was beautiful today actually got a little sunburned. Sorry didn't take a single damn pic though.
  4. Cool, I'm by the band near the door, buy you a beer.
  5. Just got to Scranton, probably going to go drink at the bar at sno for a while and ski tomorrow. I'll have on a blue and green flannel if anybody is there and wants to have a beer or seven hit me up.
  6. Nice, I'll look out for you on the north face in between self taught lessons with the wife.
  7. I see why you get the feeling of the closed group feel, but everyone from here I've met couldn't be more welcoming when you meet them. I only started on here like 2 years ago and have only posted for about a year and now I always have people to ski/ride with wherever I go in PA.
  8. That was great, I completely agree. Best Wishes, NMSKI
  9. I was looking forward to some more roller coaster trip reports.
  10. And some of us aren't even decent skiers, just love the sport.
  11. I'll be up there on Saturday afternoon/night and Sunday. It'll be a combination of teaching my wife to ski, sneaking off by myself and drinking cold guys in the bar. Would be great to meet and ski/ride/have beers with some PASRs.
  12. Same goes for me, I relax with a little buzz and just hit that shit real easy.
  13. And if it looks steep on camera its really damn steep. Sick pics. Looks like a fucking awesome time.
  14. Sibhusky, you've definitely earned your ribbon from the Whitefish chamber of commerce. Great pictures, keep em coming. Whitefish is on my list, long list though.
  15. For sure, season goes by so fast! Thanks for the info too.
  16. Nice, was the long haul lift running? I'll be up there next sunday, and whenever PASR day is, so glad to hear about the nice conditions. How was the steepest trail in PA with the 7 th steepest headwall in the eastern US (per website)?
  17. Would like to get $175. I skied maybe 10 days on them. They are the 2012 model. They are currently mounted on 2009 K2 Apache Recons which I will throw in as well. Full disclosure the skis have had a hard life but perhaps a good tune could get a couple more seasons out of them. The bindings were $250 new. They currently have the skinnier brake, but you can interchange brakes on Salomon bindings and the brakes cost like $10 if you want to put them on some fat skis. I can take some pictures after work if anyone is interested. Make me an offer, I'm getting ready to move so I want these gone.
  18. Nice. I got a pair of boots at Salters 2 seasons ago and had a good experience over there as well. Had a little bit of a rough time with my toes breaking them in, but was able to get it figured out. They do an awesome job with the orthotics too. I'll be biting the bullet again soon though as well and going with something stiffer.
  19. Went up last night after work to get some runs in despite temperatures being in the teens. Snow was being blown on just about every trail, and the freshly blown snow made for surprisingly decent night skiing conditions. The bumps on main street were scraped off and icy, but the left side of main street was nice. Did nightmare to dreamweaver, razors, challenge and lazy mile and the snow was pretty good on all of them. I would have gotten a lot more laps in but the snow that was being blown kept freezing on my goggles and I couldn't see. Had to thaw out a couple times. Gonna be a lot more snow on the ground by the weekend with these temps. No pics because it was too cold/windy to take off the gloves.

    Elk Mountain Jingle

"that ain't no jive"! Heard it on the radio this morning. Awful.
  21. Great morning of skiing. I suck at Nastar but had a great time in the north face area. White lightning never disappoints, and the snow was nice and soft. Had too much fun skiing to break out the phone for too many pics but got a couple of Ridge Racer on white lightning.
  22. Aspen. Where the beer flows like wine and the women instinctively flock like the salmon of capistrano.
  23. I'll be up there tomorrow morning. As far as the special goes, it says "weekends and holidays" on the website. Here's a link to the page: http://www.snomtn.com/index.php/tickets/2012-13-lift-tickets/ Glad to hear the conditions are looking nice.
  24. I'm going to head up to Sno tomorrow for the morning deal. I wear a green jacket, black pants and a gray helmet if anybody's there and wants to meet up.
  25. I'd probably be down for the morning session on Saturday.
