LOVE Wolf Creek. Used to ski there a lot and do the snowcat rope tow to the waterfall area before the put in the lift that accesses that side.

Just finished finalizing the plans for March 3 - 10 in Taos. Skied there a good amount growing up and in HS but haven't been there in about 10 years or so. Wondering if anybody here has been there and what they think about it. If it doesn't dump while I'm there I better make sure my bump skiing is on point, I remember that for sure.
  5. Nice stuff, especially like the beers, park, bumps edit. Who's skiing in that? Haven't met anyone on from this board yet so sorry for the ignorance.
  6. I went to Salters. They set me up with some custom insoles which actually solved my sore inner ankle area which was caused by me having somewhat flat feet/over pronation issues (unlike GSS I'm not foot model material). I fully expect that if I go back there they will work with me to fix the problem. First I'm going to try the thicker socks, tighter 2nd buckle and staying out of the backseat. The boots seem like they ski better than the old ones, but I also got new bindings so its hard for me to tell whether its the boot or the binding that's been the improvement.
  7. My 1998 Nordica "next" boots never gave me this problem, and I basically just bought them at a sporting goods store. This time I go to a locally reknown bootfitter and my toenails fall off. Go figure. In all fairness though, my second time out in the boots I really concentrated on staying forward in my stance and the toes did a little better, which tells me that skiing in the backseat was partly to blame causing my feet and toes to slide forward.
  8. Got a new pair of Dalbello boots, and after the first day have 2 black big toenails. Think they might be slightly too big.
  9. You guys are right, they must missing out on a lot of potential revenue. I find it kind of funny though that such a big operation can't structure its rules to effectively prevent dumbasses (like myself) from taking advantage.
  10. The problem at Blue is that the all day pass is from 8am - 10pm. Nobody is going to ski/ride from 8am to 10pm. They should cut off the all day pass at 4 or 5 pm, which would prevent what happened in my case. Would anybody on the board have said no to the guy offering the free pass? Just curious.
  11. I definitely should have checked your guys posts before heading up last night. Conditions were rough. Razors started out decent with soft bumps, but around 7 or 8 the whole mountain was pretty icy. While i was waiting in line some guy gave me his lift ticket that he was done using, so at least I skied for free. The snow guns were blowing on skiers right of the mountain starting at about 7 although it didn't really seem like it was cold enough for snowmaking. Sorry no pics.
  12. Just got some new boots and custom orthotics at salters a couple weeks ago. George Salter does the fitting himself and has many years of experience. They were written up in skiing magazine a bunch of years back. Havent had a chance to break in the boots yet, but its clear they know what they are doing over there.
  13. Thank you guys for the help. I'm planning on going up on Saturday...will take your advice.
  14. Hey all, been checking out these boards for a while but no posts until now. I'm hoping to get some recommendations for a good ski instructor at Jack Frost. I'm an advanced intermediate with 20 years experience but looking to lose some bad habits. Never had a lesson in my life and finally realizing some instruction would be good for me. Any info is much appreciated.
