The shot was taken on top of the second kicker so of course the jumps look small... the jump shown, now is around 20'-25' from lip to knuckle. the following jump is bigger at around 35' from lip to knuck. once we re-vamp the jumps this week, we will have at least two 40' hits. Yes believe it or not shawnee cares about their park this year!

Hey peeps... good news... today the top sheets weren't working so well. Infact, I hated those sheets from the second I saw them. So we went and bought all new lexan top sheets that will be smooth and level with the coping. The night crew will be installing everything and have it ready for the morning, not more crappy sliding!

It's all yours tommorow!

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on to answer questions. We've been hard at work these past few days and I'm even headed back tonight for fine tuning and details... the park will be open as of tommorow morning. As for the videos, you need to sign a release that you can recieve from Adam DeAngelo, Myself, or from Josh in the rental shop. You need to sign this release in order to enter.

My brother is going to creek on saturday for the Rome Jibulation contest at creek. Anyone joining him?

Shawnee Mountain will be starting a user submitted video contest of the Park on Bushkill. Every two weeks we will select a user submitted video and post it on our web-site www.ShawneeMt.com Full credit will be given to the video's directors. Any profanity, or unacceptable behavior will not be accepted... just use your heads people. 1-3 minute video's seems to be a good estimate in terms of the approprate length. This is your chance to show us what you are made of, and to display your skills for everyone to see! So this weekend breakout those cameras and get to work, in the New (extended) Shawnee Park and Pipe! See you in the parks...

We are working very hard to fine tune the features already in place, and to finish the installation of the other features. We are still looking at a Thursday or a midday Friday opening. As for the 1/2 pipe, we could see that fully operational as of Friday, as long as tommorow and thursday goes smoothly. My camera died today so better pics will be posted tommorow...

Attention! An executive decision has been made to delay the opening of Shawnee's Park for this up-coming weekend. Excellent snowmaking last night and future snow forcasts altered the decision today. As of 3pm the run will be shaped and constructed to have an equal amount of snow distributed throughout the trail. This gives myself and the park crew a better chance to construct a fully operational park complete with all rails, jumps, boxes, quarter-pipes, and other features running at 100%. Rather than being forced to construct everything in one day, taking this extended time will greatly improve the layout, flow, and design of the park and will also give us twice the amount of snow to work with due to the fact that snowmaking will continue almost around the clock in the park...and pipe! So I ask the you be patient and wait for better quality, rather than a mess of setups and rushed features. Who knows all could be ready to go as early as Sunday I'll keep you posted almost everyday on the parks construction. Keith! P.S. Parkbuilding begins Friday!

Wow doug that is rough... the day after my birthday last year my little brother and I headed up to stratton for the opening of their parks. I got 4 miles onto the highway when at 4 am I got sideswiped by an 18 wheeler and completely totaled my dads focus. We walked away without a scratch but all I thought after the accident is F*CK! now I can't shred stratton! (my lil bro was a little shaken up and was happy to be alive ) But believe it or not they never caught the truck driver, and my parents came in two cars! meaning I got to take my car up to stratton right from the accident. It's the first time ever that I was completly knocked sensless because of my parents actions. The trip rocked from that point on. Bring on the SNOW! -
hard to think of stuff for skiers... valid point. I can see for boarders nosepressing popping to frontside. Use your imagination I guess. I'll get back to you on opening and closing times when I get my update tommorow. The park will be open with an incredible amount of features... if not all. Yes... hits included!
