Im in... I just wanna prove to myself that at 25 i can still throw down lol -
1/8/09-------Just got down from opening the parks. The snow is a little granular right now but the sun is poking through and with a high of 33 today so it should shape up to be a really nice afternoon for riding. With the EMS jams we like to have one main feature with an ending feature (bonk, bleacher, or stall of some kind). It really gives everyone a chance to get dialed in on one or two things so by the end of the night people are throwing down some serious stuff. We'll be setting up for the jam some point after 10pm tonight so if you want a sneak peak of the set-up check the cams this evening Later! -Tom-

Hey Everyone, I Just wanted to answer a few of the questions that have been lingering around about the upcoming event. I can't say exactly what the setup will be due to the fact we are only looking at a forecast and not trails covered in snow. I can however say this, we are trying to build a fun setup featuring new jibs for the 08/09 season. I would also like to say that this event is still weather permitting but looks very very promising. It will be a contest free jam session so no matter how comfortable your are feeling early in the season it will be fun for all who participate. Also please don't forget about the Forum and Video Premiers that are also a part of this event. It should be great night and alot of fun!!! With this cold weather myself, Tom, and the rest of BCIW are completely stoked and ready to fire up the parks. Its been a long summer of work giving the parks what we hope will be a great new appearance. Think cold, get pumped, BCIW will be working hard to build our best parks yet... Andy

Plus its an A-Frame Box its about 35 ft long depending how you measure it...
-
Just to give ya a heads up... The new box is actually shorter then the large staircase battleship box... when its in snow it wont be super tall... the reason it was built so tall is because this way you will not be going blindly into the landing... your vision will not be blocked by snow... and yes its very heavy! Its really just the angle your viewing it from that makes it look so big but yes it is big just not as big as it may look in the picture... Andy

Hey everyone, I just wanted to take some time to thank all of our riders and skiers for a great season. You were with us through the best snowmaking imaginable to the worst rain storms ive seen since taking this position. Myself, and the rest of BC IRONWORKS really love doing what we do and also seeing people tear apart a beautiful terrain park. We are currently planning and starting construction of what will hopefully change the face of Bear Creeks Parks for the 08/09 season! Have a great summer, stay safe, and well see you next season! ANDY

Hey Everyone, Glad to see alot of people stoked on the idea of the Hike Park. I would like to use this time to build features that can't typically be built under normal operating restraints. I have a couple ideas that im already planning for Sunday nights build, but if there is something that you would like to see for a good session or for filming, decribe it in depth on here or post a picture or drawing that can accurately depict what youd like to see. The more detail the better. Please keep in mind that as warmer weather and rain come through the area, it will be a stuggle to build some larger sized features. Let's have some end of the year fun, so leave attitudes at home and lets have a great vibe that is fun for everyone who wants to ride a bit more this season!!! Andy

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give you an update. The reason why we pulled rails off the one side of Black Bear is that in the next few days we are expecting to have a large amount of snow fall in those general areas. It will be easier for us to build features if we dont have buried rails. When i say large amounts i believe it will be feet not inches so if mother nature cooperates, the parks will be up and running better then ever. We have started changing things up a bit. As long as the plan doesnt run into any snags in the mean time, Cascade will be fully rebuilt Sunday night. So monday will be an amazing day. Were finally at the stage where the features we want to build can be. Also id like to have some feed back about the jump i built in Black Bear, we are calling it the "Anti-Jump", I know i love it myself but i wanted to see what everyone else thinks of it. That was just a small trial sized feature of what we can possibly build if you like it. There can also be many different variations thrown into it. I just wanted to mention that on that feature there will NOT be a rail on the landing, due to the size of the landing it would make it extremely dangerous. Anyway Hope all is well with everyone and think cold, ANDY
