    Smokin Snowboards

I'm pretty sure they just licensed it, don't think Marvin has anything to do with them. U're right about the fiberglass. The products that can be recyclable on a snowboard are recycled though which is I guess what they mean by using recycled materials.

    Smokin Snowboards

Just wanted to share with people on the east coast. I got my Smoking A-team last year (www.smokinsnowboards.com). Quality so far is great and they are hand built in Utah from recyclable materials. Props for an American company trying to make a difference. Luke
  3. Haha. Having ridden northwest pow for the past year I can tell you riding something that flat in a foot of powder would be no fun/hard/slow/completely trecherous. Anything that flat out here is pretty much always groomed out. The trees in the picture are definitely not CB. I hate the new site. It's slooooowww and fails on my linux machine miserably, even in Firefox on windows it still has a lot of issues.

    Ten Inches...

Nice. Lucky you. Figures the season I move out to the Pacific Northwest the Poconos seasons starts looking promising... Camelback open before Baker.. ha assuming open means lifts running...

    Litte Caesar

So I'm looking at the conditions for tomorrow and they show Little Caesar as open. However, the Stevenson Express is not open.... are we suppose to hike up to the top to go onto Little Caesar (not that it's a good trail or anything). My point is, is this just a shameless way of CB trying to falsly advertise more open trails....?
  6. Cool. Just posted on there. Hopefully this will be a good trip, I'll bring pictures back
  7. That's kinda sad... I liked the CB message board (mainly because of mountain reps). I almost guarantee that it was the one lady who screwed it up with her kid looking at porn. What's this world coming to... HAHA.. How does PASR escape the spam?
  8. I'm going out to Seattle, WA (Redmond to be exact) for an interview with Microsoft. Gonna be there this Thursday (1/11/07) till Sunday (1/14/07). I have Saturday completely open and also a rental car with unlimited mileage (complements of Microsoft ). Anyways, my question. Anyone know any good mountains near by? I'm thinking about bringing my stuff and hitting up Mt. Baker but that's like 2.5 hours away according to Google Maps. Let me know ASAP. I've never been there so I have no clue what's around and what's good. Thanks.

    Website

Development. Maybe I will talk to our sales guy see if it'll work. That would be cool.

    Website

Working at a professional web site design company (Archer-Group.com) I can tell you that the new CB site is not done right. Half the stuff doesn't work, the menu bar on the left doesn't change your mouse cursor to a hand (IE=hand Firefox=cursor) in Firefox. Pages link to other pages that don't have content and say page invalid... and the whole gallery thing??? Completely confused about why it's done the way it is.... To me it looks like a site still in development so why put it up live? Maybe they should have hired someone other than eCRAPolis (www.ecropolis.com) to do their site.
  11. The weather sucks. I'm suprised they haven't closed before this. They make snow every chance they get and than bam, weather comes along and melts it all away with rain. It's not anyone's fault. Besides, how many people do you think would actually show up and pay for tickets today? Definitelly not enough to turn profit and unfortunately CB is a business and a business needs to make money, period. That's the only reason for owning a business, to make money. I own a season pass and trust me it annoys the hell outta me when I can't ride but on the other hand you also have to understand why they chose to close.
  12. Yea, this weather blows. The 10 and 15 day forecasts are educated guesses anyways. This season is not looking good at all.
  13. I've been registered here for a while (after being convinced by papasteeze), I'm also Luke on the camelback forum. I don't really know anyone from here so hi. I think I'm gonna head up to blue tomorrow (get there around 8 am) and board till noon or one or so. All of my friends are being panzies so I gotta go alone I'll be wearing black pants, palmer snowboard, and a brown shaun white jacket, feel free/please say hi if you see me so I'm not all alone

    Jay Peak advice

Cool. Thanks. I can handle anything at the mountains around here switch with no problem at all, I don't think I should have that much of a problem riding up there. The reason I was gonna go through poconos is because I have a house up there to stay at. This way I figure I'd drive up the Poconos Wensday night, stay over night and leave for Jay in the morning. Not sure if that's what I'll do but maybe... I'll definitelly take pictures and write about my visit if I end up going. I am just hoping that they'll get more snow next week and that it stays cold.
  15. I'm thinking about going to Jay Thursday (3/30) till Sunday (4/3). I have never been there. Anyone have any insight/hints about the place? Conditions (seems nice from the web site)? Terrain? Different mountain? and etc. Also which option should I go with? I'm leaning towards 2 as I'll have my car up there and the guy said Jay Village Inn has nicer rooms. Here's what I came up with so far for two people: Option 1 Lodging ticket breakfest dinner $100/night per person Base of mountain Check-in 4pm Check-out 11pm Option 2 Jay Village Inn 802 988 2306 Matt Bathroom cable tv stayatjay.com 3-4 miles from lifts $60 (thr) $90 (fri + sat) per room 1 double bed Check-in 2pm Check-out 11am (very flexible with check-out) Lodging $240 lodging total for Jay Village Inn Lift $35/ticket two day lift tickets (college student discount) Milage/Distance/Time (at 70mph) Route A 130 Wilm to Poconos approx 2 hrs 417 Poconos to Jay approx 6 hrs Route B 509 Wilm to Jay approx 8 hrs 1.5 to 2 tanks ~ $80 Food ~ $100 Total: Option 1 = $100*3*2+$80=$680 ~$340 per person Option 2 = $240+($35*4)+$80+$100=$560 ~$280 per person
