I pulled up that video and I was like this is going to be the most absurd montage of skiing I've ever seen but that was some serious progression from start to finish. That guy is the man!
-
Why do you say that?

i'd like to be able to customize grilled cheese sandwiches.

Yeaaaah... broken collar bone for sure. X-rays are getting sent to a specialist of some sort to see if I need surgery. Appointment tomorrow @11:30 to let me know. Thanks for the support everyone!

What DJ are you talking about? Cuz we had about 3 or 4 last year.

The jam set-up should turn out to be real fun. Just got done hand shaping everything. 6 and a half hours for Andy and I to shape it... not bad haha. We got a Down hand rail urban as hell. Slightly down "palmer" rail. Flat 20 ft. box and a HUGE tire bonk. Time to sleep before I compete. ok buh bye.

With all this rain it's not the prettiest you'll see bear but its not horrible. I'll be up way late around 6 or 7. Gotta get my sleep in to be ready to build!!!
-
I'm not even sure what the age divisions are yet. I'm assuming similar to last year. The set-up will be fully decided in the next day or two and will be built Thursday night soooo... I guess everyone will know around then.

yeah matt got screwed. i just watched the video ryan got of our finals run and matt was definitely killin it. were their bib number similar?

Cutting a halfpipe takes a lot more time than people know. Ideally we needed enough snow in there to completely fill it so that the decks of the halfpipe are level with the snow inside it.

Park Riders Observation - Prefer Rails over Jumps?

Congrats again KT! Finals didn't go too well for me. The nasty pizza from the mall started to f with my stomach oh well. For next year some kind of line organization would be cool. Really fun event though everyone was throwin down and had real laid back feel between heats. Any chance we could see a score sheet/final results list posted somewhere??? Oh and i would have expected to see a PASR booth or something double u tee eff??

BCIW DID WORK! Cascade is probably about 40-50% done with what it will be even with 2 groomers, 2 diggers, and my self in the skid loader. Black bear should be open tomorrow with whats left of it. The smurf, rainbow, and step down are out though. They wouldnt have been rideable anyway with the amount of snow they put down last night. Black bear is a whole other story for tomorrow night heh heh heh. This weekend should be REAL nice. So now I say good night @ 6:36 in the morning.

That was pretty legit guys keep it up.

ANDY and I got a lot done last night for just the two of us. Some things might appear a lil rough around the edges but keep in mind that during the next day or so everything will be fine tuned and lookin pretty. And don't think this is the end of this build. More should come tonight hopefully if all goes well. Sleep time. K, bye.

I'm guessing no one got a chance to look at the Black Bear cams today. Oh well. If you don't get a chance to check them out before you go up you'll notice some changes from the driveway. Heh Heh Heh Andy did work last night

The 411 on the high rainbow and smurf rail - By Tom When I set them there wasn't room for the groomer to push snow on the sides much less any snow TO push to the sides so Pat and I were going to dig holes for the legs and push the rail in. Well heres how that went, keep in mind this was around hour 18 of our 20 hour shift. SOOO we started digging the holes and about 5 minutes in one of our only two shovels left snaps in half. So we switched back and forth digging until we both started slurring words and getting dizzy from sleep deprivation so we left the rest for morning crew and by the time they got there the slush turned to ice and the one shovel we did have was useless. When those are re-set next time we change it up they'll be lower. The End.

theres a half octagon box just like that set up for the us freeskiing open right now.

EXACTLY. Take some lessons to learn the basics and start skiing with people that will push you to try new stuff. I never took freestyle skiing lessons but I started ridding with older guys rippin' it and they pushed me to try new and crazy stuff. Just find some people who look like they know what they're doin and introduce yourself. Thats your best bet.

crazy pop is soo last century. literally...

If you feel comfortable in Grizzly Park Black Bear would be the next step up. Just start on some small stuff. Don't go trying to wreck yourself too quick haha!

These EMS rail jams have nothing to do with Bear Creeks competition series. Other than providing staff to maintain the features, a place to do it, and a rail, bear doesn't have too much to do with the format/DJ/prizes. Anything anyone wants to see changed for the next one keep posting here. Also keep in mind these are the first events like this EMS has ever tried to put together so that why feedback like this is good. I left right after the start. Anything crazy get thrown down? Oh and DJ Cali only was there once. If I remember correctly all he played was "BaaaaaaaLLLin!!!!!" and pretty much any other generic stuff you might here on the radio at any given time.

b Ok, lets start at the top Personally I'm not a fan of the uber easy ride on rainbow. It's a temporary. The down rail was cut down a lot but some snow was made... sorry. The flat single bar is nice actually. It was set up on a down slope before and hardly anyone hit it. Figured we'd mix it up a 'lil...sorry again? "why the hell is it so far offcenter????" - Fresh powdery snow doesn't pack well in 10 degree weather. Noobs riding off the side doesn't help either. "tree ride needs to be more of a quarter pipe up the the tree" - Could it be more of a quarter pipe? Yup. Can you still bonk 10 ft. up? Yup. I sawz it with my own eyeballs tonight. (0)(0) "Second jump is awful." - Most likely being rebuilt tomorrow. "The up flat rail baffles me...i dont know who the hell they were expecting to hit" - People with madd skillz yo! Cacade = Expert Park "The step up box is what it is, probably should just keep it the other way, the level of riding at bear creek isnt good enough to have it the step up way and people are just gonna bitch about it being that way." - So you're against progression? People asked for it so it was done. I'd rather tell people to step their game up than turn it right back around. I'm sure it will be back to a step down sometime this season. "all you guys did was take out the barrel and put that rail in, but that stupid b/c you set up the rail as if it was on top a quarter pipe." - Actually that pile was pushed up the trail and then the rail was placed in. And yes, it is set up as if it was on top of a 1/4 pipe...but it isn't. It's something different. Sorry. I along with numerous other people had fun on it so far. "another flat single barrel rail to finish it off." - Didn't have enough snow in the area to set it up as a down rail like it will be Thursday night after close... Would you rather have nothing there for the time being? "NOBODY in their right minds is going to straight line that thing to hit a jump that has NO pop just to hit the knuckle going mach 5." - That's funny, I could have sworn I've seen dozens of people hit it at mach 4 no problem and do some insane/crazy/maddsteezy/illnasty maneuvers over that sick feature. Chillz yo! F.Y.I. to all - Cascades new build is only about half done.
