You know I rally have nothing bad to say about Pocono skiing... I learned to ski in the Poconos... I would never trash where you guys live.. I could say negative stuff about Camleback or Shawnee or Montage... But it only make myself look cool and hurt the areas... The trashing you guys give Hunter is pathetic... I really was starting to take a liking to this little community until I peeled back the layers of the onion... And what I see disgusts me... Now I see your all just a bunch of friggin yahoo that like to trash mountains that you don't know how to ski... You guys ALL generalize about two trails on a mountain and discount the rest... The WHOLE west side of Hunter is challenging and interesting.. You know all the beginners and intermediates stick to Belt Parkway and Hellgate... If your a good skier you NEVER ski those trails... Just like your home areas have high traffic spots... I could show you tons of pictures taken at various parts of Hunter that only have a few people on the trails.... And those were taken on a weekend...

Only if you can handle mogul skiing... Otherwise... no...

I live next to a river... It's beautiful.... You should be so lucky when you grow up...

Wow... I did a search on Hunter and i can't believe the crap you guys are saying... Wow.. Everyone gets all self righteous here when anybody says anything bad about a Poconos area yet you feel free to blast other areas... My God.. Hunter blows away anything in the Poconos.... And none of your blathering will make me change my mind... Camelback.... Compared to Hunter BAW HAW HAW..... ((chortle ))) Pathetic... I will gladly tyake you guys on the uncrowded trails at Hunter - if you can take it... Cause they are tough... Pathetic...

Whatever anybodies argument is about it - or whatever reason they did it... I certainly rushed up to Killington ever October from the they had skking on Upper Cascade to when we had to ride the pickup to the glades... But saying it was just a tiny patch isn't really correct.. It was usually a couple trails and generally the conditions were really good... Please don't get mad at me for dissagreeing with you... It's really just my observation.

I really wish there were pictures of the drop... It seems wierd that there aren't... Not implying anything - but you'd think the thing they are known for would be a little more visible...

I really did become a harcore skier in the Poconos... We used to ski all the time in PA... I lived off Rt 78 in NJ in highschool.. the Poconos were only an hour away...

I like Elk... It's somehow different from the other areas in PA... Only was there a couple times but seem to remember having a good time...

You got the wrong guy... Maybe your thinking of Doug S.... I'm Doug C... I was never on a team... In the late 80's early 90's I was just another tiedye wearing bump slammer...

ohh - I have - I have!!! But the entrance was a lot easier then the pic on AZ - only 6 foot to snow So I know you??? Cool... drop me a line... After I moved up to Hunter fulltime - I stopped dissing ski areas... If they say they got it... Then who am i to say they don't... Every ski area has something that somebody likes or else they wouldnt be in business... Generally I find people that diss ski areas do it to sound big and badass or something... But the reality of it - is that the towns that surround ski areas are what takes a beating when skier visits drop... And now I live in a ski town.. I don't want people dissing Hunter... So I aint gonna diss someone else... It's tough for me to diss PA... I became a skier at Big Boulder... Had some great times at Camelback(Actually have a freind whos a ranger there)... Have had some great times tooling around Shawnee.. When I first started snowboarding - it was a place I liked to go... PA - rocks... Lots of ski areas... Cool people... Mellow vibe...
