Nestors is hosting a customer appreciation/demo day tomorrow at Blue. A host of different companies should be there from around 9:30am til 3:30pm offering product demos. I'll be there with a bunch of Line's current models. I took a peak yesterday at Line's 2009 product lineup and it looks soooo nice. Come try out some boards from your favorite company, and maybe a few you haven't considered or heard of. Forecast looks muuuuch better than today's was.

x1 Unfortunately mine is sounding and feeling worse. -
Yes please!!! Take notes and be observant. I will be grilling you upon your return. I'm thinking next year. That Continental flight is actually a good deal. I flew a similar route on the way to China in March. The plane on the way to China was an older 777 and sucked real big in terms of comfort and entertainment, but the way back we had a brand new one that had all kinds of media in the headrest and much comfier seats. The food and service was very good as compared to what modern domestic air travel has become post-9/11.

My pleasure. I forgot to mention driving last night. I tried to beat the storm yesterday as I had to go to Albany and back. I kind of did... I left Albany around 4pm and got back here close to 9pm. Normally its about a three hour hike. On the return it was snowing with just wet roads for a good portion of 87. Things were a little slick coming across 80, but PA is where it got real fun. The roads were already covered in a real thin glaze, and as soon as I got on 611 south it started sleeting like I've never seen it sleet in my life. Pretty much a torrential downpour of sleet. I was chatting on the phone with someone right before it started, and I was almost yelling just to be heard. I got on 512 to go from the river over to Wind Gap, and what normally takes 15-20 minutes took closer to 45. It was uber slippery, definitely ball bearing road surface. I was trying to make it a bit closer to Harrisburg, but I was getting fatigued from the trip and it just wasn't worth it.

You looking for anyone to help with the room if I can get vacay and my knee works?

Live from Wind Gap... Been up since around 4:30 and have watched it sleet, freezing rain, and plain rain. There is at least a quarter inch of ice (looks like closer to half an inch) on the car and thick icicles that go from the headlights all the way to the ground and fuse onto the asphalt. It is now just raining, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to the ice. Earlier, I warmed up the car and tried to get to 33. Once I got the ice off, I slid down the driveway and turned onto the road. I was going at a crawl and no further than 100 feet down the road my car seemed to glide on a cushion of air right into the neighbors front yard. It was pretty much impossible to stay on the road. I wanted to get some speed up to see if I could do a 1080 in my car, but decided against it. It is a little better now, I just drove down the block to see if I could get out, but it is still extremely slippery. I was trying to get down to Whitetail today but don't know if that is gonna happen. I-78 looks and sounds pretty sketchy in spots, and from what I hear it is pouring rain at Whitetail with more rain expected through the day. No tailgating/drafting today...

from NOAA.gov Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Tuesday Night: Snow and freezing rain likely before 11pm, then rain likely between 11pm and midnight, then rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Wednesday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Saw the last jump in Sidewinder last week and it looked mad scary. c-box looked fun but I didn't see anyone hit it. Excited to see if they will do anything different with the rebuild... -
Do this guys! It was a real fun time last year and I am pretty freakin' bummed I'm injured. I wanna do it but I really don't want to push it too hard.

USASA Boardercross Competition at Bear Creek January 31, 2009
snorovr replied to TT C6's topic in Bear Creek
In my experience most folks who visit the site use the "View New Posts" link that is found on the same bar as your username and login status but on the right side of the screen. Multiple posts just clutter up this well liked and often used sub-forum, and we would like to keep that to a minimum. Please feel free to "bump" threads to the top as long as they are relevant. -
I was in the same boat last year. Found an old set of carving skis for $175 and skied on them a little bit the week before Beer League started. Ended up running what I think were some pretty competitive times, and had a great time in the process. Unfortunately I start a new job at the end of the month and am not sure if I can make it up in time to do Beer League this year. I haven't found out my schedule yet. Kinda bummed... You can use my carving skis if I still have them and can't do it.

Hmmm. Thanks for the heads up. I know a few people who might be interested... Also, I deleted the post about this from the Lounge area. One post is fine. -
Go easy on Justo. He is having a rough week with losing ski buddies to injury.

Werd. Your ignorance speaks for itself.

I'll vouch for the Freeride coaches on the snowboard side of things being some of the best that the program has ever had, and one of them is among the best and most naturally comfortable riders I have ever seen. They truly care about the success of the program and the athletes who participate in it. They have made several changes this year to make things even better than last, and I don't think you would find one athlete in the program that is unhappy with the experience. Your information is hearsay, incorrect, and plain ignant. Care to argue with that? Similar situation in the snowboard school. Good work, punctuality, and professionalism are rewarded. People talk shit because they don't get the free ride they have been used to.

This thread is heartwarming.

Blue Mountain is Going Downhill-No Pun Intended
snorovr replied to Death Cookie's topic in Blue Mountain
Broken up into thoughts. Not even worth it to correct spelling and punctuation. It was kept because beneath the chaos it does convey semi-thought out but ill communicated opinion. Next time it will just be deleted so PASR is not sued for damage to members eyes... -
Nice product review! Sounds like a decent upgrade if you want to keep the stock liners. These things and Intuition liners and your feet would be fine in anything.

Hmmmm.... Think I might use that free ticket to Elk...

Bumps were awesome today. So fun to get in some decent blown snow. Kinda sad that its the only spot on the whole hill, but I'll take it. That kid Chris rips em up too! Very fun to watch. I think I'm gonna do a bump clinic up north this year. They're always something that I've wanted to improve at because people who can ski bumps comfortably and look good doing it seem to be able to ski pretty solidly in just about any other conditions. Professional Ski Instructors of America offers educational clinics throughout the season to its members, and I think non-members can tag along for a small extra fee. I have one buddy who is very interested, if anyone else is let me know and I wouldn't mind putting together a small group.

Picture deserves a repost for sooooo many reasons... How long will your ticket be at the end of the season??? Keep it going man. Can't wait to see what it looks like in April...
